Along with utilizing a gift card I received years ago, I visited AMC Cicero 14 to see the movie Mortal Kombat II, which I have been very geeked to see since watching the previews on YouTube platform. AMC Cicero was similar in distance, if not closer to my Chicago residence compared to both Regal City North, and Regal Webster Place which I have visited in the past. AMC Cicero is located within a shopping mall known as Cicero Market Place, featuring several businesses and restaurants. So parking is the last worry to have if you intend on choosing AMC Cicero. I visited on a weekday within prime work and school hours, so I had no issues finding a parking spot within Cicero Market Place. I think even if I were to have visited in the evening or during the weekend there would be no difference. I had no issues activating my gift card despite it being years ago since receiving it; and the employee even gave me the balance I had left on it which I plan to use very soon. As a movie enthusiast, I feel as though I do not visit movie theaters enough. Now if you have spare time before the movie you intend to watch, there is a mini arcade located off to the side of the ticket purchase area and feet from the concession. The kid in me just had to stop and look at some of the arcade machines available which I am sure I will enjoy in the future. Once I found and entered the auditorium where the movie was being shown, I located my seat which was identified by alphabet letters located along the floor, with the number of the seat on the arm rest. I loved the chair, which did not recline but they do slightly adjust with pressure added. For me, the seat was comfortable and at the time it did ease my lower back pain. The only thing I was not fond of was the sticky floor in the theater which made me cautious about the cleanliness of not only that but the seats as well. With all shared in this review, AMC Cicero 14 won me over and I will surely return again. Unfriendly and unresponsive staff. I was purchasing something. They had one left. I told the guy to grab it and sell it to me. He said "we have more in the back." They did not. Meanwhile, another customer went to a different employee, asked the same thing, and they gave it to HIM!!!!! The last one! It was mine, and it slipped through their fingers because they are extremely unintelligent. Then I was harassed and made to feel targeted and very uncomfortable. So my movie was ruined because of it and I still did not get the ONE thing I was there for. The guy practically stole it from me, and the employees let him!! I'm scared of what may have happened to the guy if I didn't stay calm. He would be in the hospital right now. Originally $50.00. I offered him $300. He said no, just to be an as*hole. I was in the middle of purchasing something, and while the employee was taking his time ringing me up, another customer came up and grabbed the LAST on right in front me. Very dirty seems like it needs a thorough cleaning. There was popcorn on the floor, underneath the seats, and between the seats.

One of rougher AMCs I have been too. Rating 4/10 Pros: Parking. Cons: Broken Audio, untidy, cheap seats. Went to see Oppenheimer a few weeks ago. Used to having a decent AMC in Cincinnati. This location was much worse. First when we arrive and checked in we were told our tickets were "not showing up." Turns out they moved the theatre showing room, definitely worried me at first. Condiments for popcorn and other things were a mess and not cleaned, the seats were rough and torn, trash was already in the theater before our movie, and the right speaker was blown out making terrible noise the whole movie. I would suggest you visit any other theater. read more

This was by far one of the worst experiences I have dealt with at an AMC theatre. We had a 10:15 PM showing for The Color Purple; upon arriving the staff was extremely rude, the concession stand only had drinks and no popcorn or snacks. Once we arrived into the actual theatre, it was dirty. It had trash left from the previous show and looked unkept. I will not be visiting this location. read more

The inside is dated and dirty. The salt shakers were sticky to the touch and the counters had soda stains. On top of that 18 bucks for a medium popcorn and drink is ridiculous, especially when you consider that both tasted horrible. Moving on to the theatre itself - nothing special at all here. Seats were uncomfortable, un-reclinable, and cramped. Screen seems to be smaller than what most places have these days. I haven't been to this theatre in years. Only a free movie pass could bring me out but something changed. Did they change the decor?? Vibe??? It was clean. Staff were friendly. Seats were comfortable. I didn't have any thing from the concession stand. The pizza smelled good. Maybe I will give this one another try. Visited this location yesterday evening to watch a movie and had good experience. The seats seemed to be updated. Very comfortable velvet seats, clean, and great customer service. Right after movie, workers began cleaning theatre. Only complaint I have is slushee taste and no refill policy. The slushee seemed to be lacking some flavor compared to other slushees I have tried at other AMC locations. Additionally, I am usually able to get refills, but the rule has changed. Convenient location with free parking, good sound quality, and comfy seats; however, the theatre itself was littered with popcorn, napkins and food containers. Oddly, an attendant came in during the film and picked up a couple of pieces of garbage, but that was it. The theatres don't appear to be cleaned between films. Or people could just tidy up after themselves!! That would be nice. I wanted popcorn and a Diet Coke but the concession line was so long! I didn't have time to wait in line before my movie started. My husband & I had high hopes of enjoying date night "Madea's Family Funeral"..... however there were too many distractions!!! Due to my knees, my husband & I prefer to sit in the 1st couple rows after the guard rail. Elder guy & his family sat right behind us in the middle of the row. If he was gonna get up couple times, why didn't he sit on the end? His cane kept hitting the back of our chairs. From the other end of our row, a woman got up several times. She should have gone the other way to disturb her family's view... not complete strangers! If that's not bad enough, 2 little kids (under the ages of 5) were giggling & running in circles around the front section of the theater. Why would anybody bring babies to a movie especially knowing there would be profanity?!? Afterwards, my husband complains to the manager. All she offered was Corporate's business card to file a formal complaint. Located between both of our jobs & 20min from our home, this was the convenient venue for my husband & I to meet! Lacking sincere customer service! Food court has one employee that seemed like he was not in the mood to deal with anyone. Then asking for stuff, your at a movie theater for christssake, how do you not have mustard to go on hot dogs?? Or half of stuff on the menu. All out?!?! Come on AMC. Let's move on to what we were able to get. Popcorn that tastes as stale as god knows what. Pretzel bites that were still frozen. Worst AMC experience EVER!! This place is absolutely disgusting. Before you enter, there is a ton of garbage outside and in the foyer. Both self serve kiosks are out of order. Only 1 out of the 3 soda machines work. It seems that nobody is capable of picking up a broom or wiping down the counters. I'm not sure how this place passes health department standards. Only good thing was that we were the only ones in our movie. Guess everyone else got scared off too... You're better off going to a different location. read more

I honestly don't have a long review of this place. It's my main theater to go to since it has free parking, with plenty of food options nearby. It shows movies, has standard overpriced food and drinks, never really is dirty, and get the jobs done. Only noticeably complaint I have is 3/4 automatic hand dryers in the men's room don't work, and you have to press a lever, so you feel like a fool for a minute trying to get a towel. In the end, they have a lot of screens, a decent rewards program, and free parking, so I'll keep coming here. read more

It was a Mom & Daughter Sunday Funday. Our first stop was to see a movie. The first show time is always at 11:30 AM. The first show is discounted for $5.00 after that the price goes up. Depending on what movie comes out this location gets pretty busy. But, today was a quiet day not that many people were waiting in line for movie tickets. Thet even have a nice food station were you can purchase fries, pizza, hotdogs, nacho etc. The washrooms are always kept up nice and clean. The staff crew are always smiling and friendly. read more

We usually go to the theater at North Riverside Mall [their seats are leather, reclinable, larger, and more comfy and clean] but we missed the only showing of The Flash that they had there so we opted for seeing it at AMC Cicero 14. Everything was okay at the theater, it's older and looks like it hasn't been updated in a bit. The seats were cloth, velvet-like, they seemed clean but they didn't feel extraordinarily clean or comfy. The floor was SO STICKY. We had good seats even though we didn't splurge on the premier seats for an extra $2.00. I mean, if we wanted to we could have sat in the premier seats because we were 3 out of 6 people there to watch the same movie at 7:30 pm and the premier seats were empty. Also, if you love previews, wow, you get a whole 30 minutes' worth. It was fun actually, the previews were. The theater most absolutely needs some updating. Would we go back? This theater stopped the movie in the middle of an action scene and threatened to end the movie, because of a seating mixup. Are you kidding me that you could allow the entire movie to be interrupted due to a seating complainant. There was no popcorn available sale. The staff was rude and unprepared for the crowds. This has got to be the worst theater I have been to and realize why I stopped going. It is a shame that for the same price, non-recliner seats and poor service theaters in select areas will not survive. Since I work at this theater my opinion about it will be a little be different than others. I've only been here for about a month and a half and there is so much that I can tell you. Box Office: there's a big thing with selling "Stubs Cards" right now and we can talk your ears off with the perks that come with it, and I do think that it is a good deal for the price, but that's only if you visit AMC theaters often. Concession: Food is really expensive for what you're getting but people still buy it. There are combos and promotions that they have going on but you're better off eating before you get here because when you leave you'll probably have spent $50 on concession items alone Bathrooms: long and behold this is where we get the most complaints from guests but it is them who causes the bathroom to be disgusting. We try our best to continuously clean the restroom, I myself have had to clean it numerous times. There could be anything from diapers in the toilets, tissue all over the floor, to food and drinks, in the bathroom. And as you can see these are all problems that the guests cause. If they just clean up after themselves it wouldn't be a problem. But they fail to see their own faults. Theaters: yet again anther problem caused by the guests. After every show we go and clean the theaters and there has been very few instances where the guests threw their trash Away. Maybe they think that the employees are their maids and it's an obligation that we clean up after them but it's not. They need to be more considerate of our job and clean up after themselves. We saw the 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' for a 11:15am showing on 12/24/17 in auditorium 13 as a nice Xmas Eve present. Film was great, but the screen was very dark, hardly colorful, and it was difficult to see details. "All digital movies are supposed to be projected at 14 foot-lamberts, an industry standard established by a group called DCI." Looks like this one falls short of that level of illumination. I brought it up to management at the customer service desk, who said she couldn't make any promises to fix it...very dismissive work ethic. No complaints. We visited this movie theater to see a screener for Fantastic Beasts Crimes of Grindelwald. The movie was fantastic. The theater was very clean and the staff was accommodating. The line process for the screener was the smoothest process for any of the theaters we visited. They have a little arcade area, which is very refreshing considering most movie theaters removed arcades. The movie theater was not short staffed and the waits are not long. It is located in the strip mall so there are plenty of parking spaces. read more

We came here because we got a gift card. I have been so spoiled that where I go to watch my movies the popcorn area has a free refill of drinks and popcorn. This place is very expensive. I believe it was almost 10 dollars per person, a little tiny popcorn the sized of a pint square box for 7 dollars with no refills. So, yeah no thanks. It's also not in a so nice area either. Came this time to watch a movie screening. But the review is about the theater. There is plenty of parking and as you come in there is a security guard. There is a small arcade to play while you wait. The food court took a long time to take care of customers since there were about fifteen people in line and only two taking orders. You need to get to the theater early since they don't have assigned seating. read more

The arm rests do raise up in case u wanna get close & personal with your date but the seats are not of the upgraded kind. They charge way too much for their disgusting food, which makes no sense because they are heinously understaffed. The system for buying food from the concession is convoluted, bureaucratic and confusing. First, I had to go to the "cashier". who takes my order, rings me up, and gives me a receipt that says $0.00. I'm like, yes, the food is free! But no, you have to walk to a hidden area with your "receipt", where you really pay for the food. At this point, I did not have my food yet. So I walked back to see if it was ready, but in walking back, there was a "do not enter" sign. I needed to get my food so I went in anyway. When I walked back to get my food, the first cashier (poor exploited teenage boy) was running around like a headless chicken, trying to do the job of 3 people. He was responsible for ringing up all of the food AND making all of the food. I guess that's why they started the movie 15 minutes after the scheduled time. The most twisted thing of all was that they wanted $5 for a bottle of Dasani water. I'm trying to imagine a situation in which I would pay $5 for a small bottle of Dasani water. (Tangent) Maybe if I was trapped on a dessert island surrounded by nothing but seawater, eating nothing but coconuts and sand crabs for like 6 weeks, and I knew I'd never see civilization ever again, and a person came along, and I had $500 bucks in my pocket, and they had a bottle of dasani water but they wanted $5, I'd be like, ok, I'll give you $2 for it. Decent theater that is groomed by staff nicely. Since the theater is located within a strip mall, they have an ample amount of parking. The theater is still in a "new car smell" new kind of way. My only gripe is with some of the folks that choose to watch here. Dude.. coming in late to an already late show making noise, carrying tons of food and making a ton of noise. I don't care much about the food, it's some particular folks that smoke a ton of ganja and then binge eat and fall asleep not even halfway through the movie and snore. You think I'm lying right? Went to a showing of John Wick 2 on a Friday night. This was my first time at this AMC. I had bought the tickets on the AMC website, which ended up saving a lot of time since when we got there, there was a long line of people. All we had to do was walk up and have the tickets scanned. The theater itself is OK. It's not as nice or comfortable as the ones downtown, but it does just fine. The movie started on time, it wasn't too crowded, there was enough space in the theater. We paid $20 for a 7:30 PM showing. We did not get food or drink there, but can only image how much we would have spent if we had. If you're hungry, you're better off stopping by the Subway or Taco Bell next door before the show. Honestly, the best part of this theater is that it has plenty of free parking. That was ultimately my deciding factor in going to this location. For this reason alone, I'll probably return again. read more
