I've been coming to Lake Theatre since I was a kid and it still does not disappoint! I've I want to see a movie with great prices, definitely thinking of Lake Theatre first and foremost. Plus, they is plenty of parking nearby & even free after certain times/Sundays (I believe). I would only point out, the seats are kind of worn out BUT from a recent review, I saw that they are updating the seating with brand new heated/cooling recliners, so cool & much needed/deserved for this OP Gem. Personally, I don't have anything bad to say about this theatre! Thank you for all the years you've been around & I look forward to my continued support of stopping by from time to time. Personal Review: 8.9/10

This movie theatre is part of the classic cinemas theatre group. It is located in downtown Oak Park and from the outside it looks pretty much like any other movie theatre. But, once you get inside the difference is very evident. They have kept the history and elegance of this theatre and even brought in many fixtures and statues from different theatres that no longer exist. There are 9 different theatres and we saw our movie in theatre #2. They keep the theatres very dark, seating was hard to see. Luckily we stayed way in the back. The theatre is very long and narrow, but, even in the back the view of the screen was fine. There is nearby parking either in garages or parking lots. Go to the Lake Theatre to see a movie and take your time and enjoy your surroundings in a beautifully restored theatre.

Stopped in yesterday with my neighbor to see "A Man Called Otto." Not sure if they placed us in this theater because not many tickets were purchased for the film, but it was in such terrible shape. All of the seats and arm rests are completely worn out. It was so bad that as other people entered the theater it's the first thing they mentioned. I'm sure the other rooms aren't like this, but I'll stick to the AMC in Yorktown or Cinemark in Melrose Park from now on.

This place is really an Oak Park gem. Classic beautiful design with modern upgrades like leather seats and loud surround sound. Ticket prices are cheaper than AMC too.

The Lake Theatre is classic old school cinema at its finest. The prices are great. They offer a cinema loyalty card that is totally worth joining for free. Use your card to accumulate pts when buying your movie tix and also at the concession stand. They offer free refills on popcorn, soda, and slushy's. You won't find the huge massive screens and reclining chairs in this theater. So if that's not something that you are willing to part with then the Lake Theater isn't for you. The Lake theatre and its huge lit sign outside as you make your way down Lake St is homage to downtown Oak Park. It's clean, friendly staff, big screens, perfect sound, comfortable seating, and great prices is what makes this my favorite go to spot to see the next box office hit. ~ Enjoy Yelpers!

I saw that the Tribune criticized OPFT's take for being too heavy on the comedy and light on the romance. I disagree; I thought that the emphasis on the comedy was a huge plus. Malvolio stole the show with Toby and Sir Andrew as great comedic support. Olivia's flip-flopping was also well executed for some good fun. The Fool had to compete hard for laughs.... I was delighted to find that this production had even our kids (11-13) laughing like crazy. This is excellent accessible Shakespeare in the park that is great for the whole family. Tickets for kids under 12 are just $5.

As I think of it the only real options for this are Theatre on the Lake, occasionally when there's a Shakes in the park sort of thing happening, and Oak Park Festival Theatre in Oak Park. The work done by this company is really high quality, so you'll definitely get your money's worth and enjoy the performance if you enjoy the play. I came here in 2016 to see Pygmalion after a few years of saying I should go and then not doing so. OPFT has an illustrious history: The theatre was established in 1975 and has included such notable thespians (of course unknown at the time) as David Mamet as William H. Macy. Unfortunately, in November 2021 there was a fire that destroyed much of their equipment, historical documents, and I'm hopeful their fundraising efforts will prepare them to mount a new season this or next summer! Austin Gardens is in downtown Oak Park Parking is found on surrounding streets, or in the village parking lot (free after 6 pm). Accessibility is a bit harder to measure. It's a park, so it is as accessible as any park, but depending upon the type of accommodation you need, your mobility, etc. it may vary how accessible it is for an individual. They don't have wheelchairs or anything for patron use as far as I know, and as a park it may be difficult to hear at times. Alternatively, both the Green Line and the UP-W Metra line are within 3-5 blocks of the park, so that's a great choice for transportation, too. There are restaurants nearby, or for an even more fun option, bring your dinner to picnic before and during the play. Just don't disrupt your fellow patrons (so that means if you have things in wrapping and what not, maybe wrap in cloth or something that's not going to make a bunch of noise as you open it!).

Cinemas Entertainment 10 is never too crowded nor too expensive compared to other cinemas that I have visited in the past. In fact, if you visit before the evening hours its a lot cheaper compared to visiting in the evening. Take note of that because depending on your age group it's a one to three dollar difference if you choose to watch your movie before the evening. As I share this review, I have only been to Cinemas Entertainment 10 only two times, which was to see movies 'Black Panther' and 'Avengers: Infinity War' on separate occasions. I have to say that my only complaints are the advertisements of movies that are currently out, which it's best to 'Google' Cinemas Entertainment 10 versus relying on their social media sites Facebook & Twitter because both are not up kept. I will let that one slide, and hope that a young social media savvy adult takes that position to keep us movie enthusiasts up-to-date. However, if you are interested on deals and what Cinemas Entertainment 10 has to offer visit their website. In closing I say that I'm still new to 'Cinemas Entertainment 10', and as the time goes on I will share more pictures and insight on things that I encounter, and I hope this review helps. Thomas G
