best theater in the area. i hate having to go all the way to opelika to see a movie. bring this theater back

First of all, I placed an order at the concession counter for a small popcorn and a large Diet Coke and essentially they would not sell me that they wanted to sell me a candy a large popcorn and a large Diet Coke. I'm just one person I don't need that much food I felt super high-pressure into buying this package and I know the theater makes a lot of their money off concessions so that's the first thing. Secondly, the theater number seven was a pig sky. The seats are super old theater has not been upgraded in a really long time. I asked why they were pushing the special at the concession stand and that I had no desire to have a large popcorn. I only wanted a small popcorn and they continued to throw it in my face, so I just hate the extra few dollars and walked into the theater I don't recommend this location. It's nasty. The employees are rude and I hope AMC takes the time to train their employees better because when you ask for something you should get what you asked for and not what they want to Selya. I didn't know going to an AMC. It was like going to a car dealership. No wonder people don't want to go to movie theaters anymore $28 approximately for a large popcorn, a large Diet Coke and milk duds that I threw away !! Get it together AMC !! Went to see The Northman. An employee opened a door and triggered the fire alarm. She told this to me directly. Guessing she wasn't supposed to as another employee fabricated a story and told us we had to leave. We waited outside and after about 20 minutes they said we could either get a free pass to a future movie or we could come in but they were not restarting the movies where they stopped. So, we would have missed that portion. I asked for a refund but was denied that option. Pretty disappointed. read more

This place smells really weird. Nice crowd though. Pretty sure this place is haunted, the food shack looked abandoned. The booth is unavailable which throws off the ambience big time. No but fr this place smells rank asf on dawgs. read more

AMC CLASSIC Auburn 14 - see it smells - Cinema Near Me - Auburn, Alabama

Me and my fiancée were by Auburn to help her sister move into her dorm. We planned to watch Barbie after! I got the tickets ahead of time, & I was interested to see that there was no reserved seating (most AMCs do). However, the experience was fun! It's interesting that the theater used to be an old Carmike before it was bought by AMC; nostalgic feeling! There was a tear in the ceiling of our theater, but the employees were quick, efficient, & nice at the concession stand, especially during Barbenheimer Day. The theater was dịvy but comfortable, & the audience was fun. We live in Austin, TX, but if we ever need to go see a movie while in Auburn, this theater is great! read more

Formerly the Carmike Wynnsong 16, now the AMC Classic Auburn 14. Sounds like some theaters were combined to make a mega "BigD" theater, hence the drop from 16 to 14 screens. This theater is past its prime but still gets the job done. It looks like some moviegoers now get their flicks in at the newer AMC by Tiger Town, but that's fine by me since that means this place is less crowded. You have to buy your tickets at the concession stand which seems dumb since now there's this empty box office right outside. The employees are friendly enough and all seem like young kids. The seats are not very comfortable and are worn out from holding millions of butts; they need more cushioning. The endless stupid ads before the previews need to stop. Don't we pay enough for tickets now? Screen quality and sound are all right. Plenty of parking encircling the building and several bathrooms. read more

Horrible service. No one was of any help and looked like they hated their lives. And to make matters worse, the condition of the theater itself was absolutely horrifying. It's disgusting. I will never return and neither should anyone else. read more

If you're looking for a theater to watch a movie that isn't crowded, you're in luck. The Big D theater has very comfortable seating so pay the extra $ if its a movie you have to see with the best audio and screen quality (IMAX, 3D). The non Big D theaters are good if you want to watch a movie in non IMAX. The service is good. The concessions menu needs improving if they want to consistently draw movie lovers. read more

Terrible place. 25% of the film was not on the screen, but on the curtains and wall. Perhaps the old screen size isn't compatible with modern movies. Whatever the reason, only go there if you want to see part of a film. read more

I liked this theater but the past year everything about has gone downhill. At times the staff act like it's a bother to do their jobs. Recently My partner finally had to ask to buy a ticket after standing there while they just talked and chatted in front of him. Constantly the sound isn't working and I've repeatedly had to ask the to turn it on or turn the light down or start the movie. I've never seen anything like it. 3different parties went out and asked what was going on during one movie recently. Today the sound isn't working during the commercials. But did start for the trailers. Out of 8 lid dispensers only 2 had lids. Area was filthy. It's only 1 in the afternoon and there are 6 cars n the lot. It's not like there was some big rush of people before we arrived. Slack slack slack. Tiger town here we come. read more

If I could rate this place 0 stars, I would. Do not go to this theater if you are in the Auburn/Opelika area. Tiger 13 is newer, cleaner and all around a better place to spend your money and time. I have never been amongst more disruptive, rude and careless people in my entire life. Even walking into the theater I had my reservations about it being a good establishment. The patrons raised doubts, but the theater itself was well maintained, so I quelled my nagging suspicions. However, the patrons proved to be just as disorderly as I expected them to be and our theater was plagued with a constant background of chatter that made the actual movie hard to hear. Aside from the annoying murmuring, several groups of people were actively TAKING PICTURES OF THE SCREEN! The groups even left after the pictures were taking adding to the noise and disruption they had already caused. Ushers did come in after two complaints, but they were embarrassingly ineffective. I do not know if it is the location of this theater or the apathetic staff that allows for such refractory behavior to go on and appear to be maintained at this establishment. I will never be returning to Wynnsong even though it is closer to me than Tiger 13. read more

Wynnsong is by far the greatest 16 theater movie theater in Auburn, Alabama. Of course, it is the only theater in Auburn, so I guess they are ahead of the game. This place is ALWAYS hopping, probably because of this fact. As far as generic cookie-cutter stadium-seating movie theaters go, this one is about par for the course. Apparently they have some kind of new digital technology, for which movie audiences had to watch a 2 minute advertisement before the feature began. Add that to the solid 20 minutes of previews and advertisements, and I forget what film I'm there to see by the time it actually starts. But again, this is pretty much true of any big chain movie theater these days, so I'm not complaining. Probably the only thing that makes Wynnsong stand out at all is a certain red-haired ticket clerk who will enthusiastically tell you how great the movie you are about to see will be. My husband and I seriously make bets on whether or not he will comment on our selection. So far, he ALWAYS has (which I guess just shows what great taste in movies we have :-). On our most recent outing, a different clerk helped us, but the red-haired guy was nearby, leaning over two people to tell a couple that the movie they were about to see was "SUCH a good movie!" read more

Took my kids to see a movie that started at 1 pm. Instead of the normal sound, all we heard was a loud screeching. After twenty minutes of the previews they offered to move us to another theater and start the movie again. Forty minutes later still no movie. When I asked to get our money back an employee said after twenty minutes of seeing a movie they cannot do a refund. We never got to see even a second of our movie! Needless to say I argued to get free passes to any AMC Theater. There was absolutely no customer service, no apologies, and no explanation as to what happened. read more

We were very excited to have a theater so close to our new home upon moving to Auburn. We bought tickets to a 7:30 PM show and arrived early to enjoy the Macguffins Bar that the AMC website had raved about and shown delicacy cocktails. Walking in we could tell this would not be the case, and in fact that a choice of bottled beer and several cheap wines were our options from the concessions. Disappointed, we left and went to get drinks near by before returning for the movie. The theater we were in had a horrid awful stench that I can only compare to musty basement and the air was noticeably stagnant throughout the film. Overall one of my worst movie going experiences so far and I was sorely let down as usually AMC theaters are nice and well up-kept. I wish we had looked up the reviews beforehand, we will most definitely not be returning and would much rather drive the extra 20 minutes to a nicer theater in the future. read more

Good theater that is almost never full. The seats in the Big D theater are really comfortable and the ones at the other screens are not too bad either. Service could be a bit more friendly but that's no big deal since you don't talk to them that much. read more

My sister and I were in theater 3 last night to watch The First Purge and first and foremost I would just like to say the seats were damp - like they'd been wet earlier in the day and were still drying. And there was an awful smell in the theater. It was like something had mildewed and no one bothered to find out what it is and get rid of it. I don't know if they're planning to just work on the outside of the theater and the lobby and not the actual theaters, but something needs to be done. I imagine it's not just the one that we were in that could use a lot of work. read more

Dirty, understaffed. Smells like mildew and mold. Not vacuumed, counters and floors sticky.

Went to see Despicable Me 2 the other day with my family. As usual, had a great time at this theater. The bathrooms were clean and in good order. The popcorn bucket is a REALLY good deal. The theaters themselves are also kept very clean.....I don't notice popcorn or trash all over the floor when entering the theaters like you find in some cinemas. Overall a well run cinema. read more
