My son and I came to this AMC to catch the new Exorcist movie in IMAX. He purchased our seats online in advance. We'd just grabbed dinner so skipped the concession stand. It was a quiet Monday evening and wasn't very full which was nice. The theatre and restroom seemed clean enough. The armrests don't let up. I found this out when thinking I may need to squeeze in near him if I get too scared. I know my sons been to the movie theatre on base not sure how this compares but it was fine for what it was. I'd return. Staff we encountered were all friendly. I did see the popcorn dropping down in a tunnel from the second floor which is fun! No clue how it taste, I'll try it next time. read more

The whole place smells like urine, the projectors aren't aligned with the screens, the sound in the IMAX theatre is AWFUL, the floors are sticky in every single theatre, a lot of the seats are broken... Truly disgusted at this theater. We attended a movie on Friday and I have never been so disappointed. The theater was extremely dirty, the staff was minimal and rude, and nothing was in stock. When we entered the theater there was garbage all over the counter where the trash was supposed to be dropped in but it was overflowing. Also, the lack of security is upsetting. We paid a lot of money for these reserved tickets and when we got to our seats people (who did not pay) were sitting in them. I will never return to this particular AMC theater because of how nasty the entire facility is. read more

It was clean and the staff were very nice! Bathrooms were also clean! The theatre was a comfortable temperature and the nachos were good.

We drove over for the first time a few weeks ago because this was the closest place playing the 1984 Dune movie. It was worth the 1.5 hour drive. So much better than the Albany AMC location. Place was CLEAN, staff was super friendly, it just felt nice to enjoy a movie in that environment. Came back over to see Dune 2 in IMAX this past weekend and it was without a doubt the best moving going experience I have had in my 40+ years of watching movies. read more

Me and my sister visit here regularly, service is usually fine. Nothing special, we came on September 8th to see the new Alien movie. The entire theater smelled absolutely foul... almost everyone who stepped foot into the theater was complaining. We left and they told us to come back for the later screening which was almost 3 hours later. Definitely would visit a different location next time. read more

The IMAX broke right at the climax of Oppenheimer. This was after getting less than stellar popcorn and pretzel bites that were swimming in grease, encrusted (crunchy) with salt, and not even warm. They could not give me my money back, because I bought online. Could only give a pass, which I did not want as I have no intention of returning. I have to (and have) filed a refund request online (cannot call anyone). They could refund my concessions (which I ordered online) but could not refund my ticket. Unacceptable. Horrible experience! Upon arrival, we weren't sure where to buy tickets and there weren't any employees around to ask. I just saw 4 long lines at the concession counter. I asked someone standing in line where to buy movie tickets and was informed to purchase them at the concession counter. After standing in line for 15 mins, the young lady closed the register and told us to go to another line. We had to start at the back of another line and wait another 10 mins to get tickets. The movie itself was great. I went to the Women's bathroom on the way out only to find that the restroom was filthy! Disgusting! After spending $48 on 2 tickets, one drink, and 1 popcorn, I couldn't believe it could be such a disappointing experience. read more

I agree with other reviewers that this theater has gone downhill since AMC bought it. Last time we were there, we waited 10 minutes past start time for the movie to begin. No previews, no nothing. The first employee we asked about the issue shrugged, said "I don't know," and walked away. The second employee actually got someone to start the movie but then we had to sit through all the previews! Movie started 45 minutes after is was supposed to. Since it was cold and raining out we decided to spend $40 + to see Terminator @ 6 PM today in theater #3 and it was unheated and everyone in the theater was freezing. I went to talk to management and they stated they no longer can control the temp in their theaters and that it is all controlled out of Kansas City. What is up with that? If this happens again and we are STUB members, I will demand my money back and also contact American Express not to pay and leave the theater. The current review of this AMC (3.5 stars as of now) is pretty spot on. It has the potential to be a really nice theatre but it seems a lot of the staff is somewhat lazy in keeping the theatre clean. That's not to say the staff is rude as I have never had a bad interaction with a staff member at the theatre. The theatre simply gives the impression the staff doesn't care too much about cleanliness. However, I have not walked into a theatre before a movie and noticed trash everywhere or dirty seats. The main area and hallways is what needs some attention. This AMC is my go-to theatre in Columbus and my wife and I do enjoy coming here to watch a new film. I don't come here often, maybe once or twice a month depending on the releases of movies. In short, this movie theatre is good, but has the potential to be great. All that is required is for someone to take a little pride in this theatre and clean the place up a bit. read more

Never been to a movie theater where I had to cover my ears and it still be too loud. The one movie I was watching was so loud you could hear it from the bathrooms. Also had to cover my little girls ears so she wouldn't go deaf. I understand movies are loud in theaters, but never have I been to one that made me genuinely think I might go deaf. read more

This was once an enjoyable theater, when it was Carmike. I can pop better popcorn at home. No kettle corn, like it's so expensive to make. You're gonna charge me a steak meal for a popcorn and soda, at least let it have some kind of quality. Then the soda is like tonic water, so I had to switch to HI-C. I purchased the refill bucket and wouldn't you know, it cost $2 more for the lid. I was never asked did I want it. Never the less the staff was was kind and courteous, and the theater wasn't trashy like it usually is. We don't have a choice which movie chain to chose . There is a monopoly here in Columbus Ga. . Which means AMC will get worse before better. Remember the good ole days? read more

The theater is HUGE, but once you get inside it's actually a bit too hectic. There is no box office just 4 registers and then when you walk in it bottlenecks thinking they're going to take my ticket but it's just mangers and cops there usually talking. The concession stand is big and it seems like they have a bucket you can bring back and get refills on but that's just too big for me. The theaters are normal size and the sound system is actually pretty impressive. As far as movie theaters go, it's really nothing too special. Unless there are super comfortable chairs or a bar or actual food then I think 3 stars will be the average for any movie theater I go to. read more

I'm not a person to give a bad review, but this is well needed. My brother and I went tonight to go see a movie. We walked into the previews & instantly my ears started ringing. During the previews my brother downloaded an app to see what the decibels was at. It hit 120 decibels just from previews. I now have a migraine & we even left 30 minutes into it. read more

Main reason for my low review is because of needing to buy tickets where you buy concessions. I waited in line 20 minutes to get a ticket and there were no "ticket only" lines. Why? Employees were very nice and theatre clean and comfortable but there is no good reason you can't buy a ticket in a separate line. So there are really 2 theaters in Columbus. I would say this is the better of the 2 because of the customer service. You buy your tickets right up front and then head to the line for snacks. The other theater does both at the snack line so you have to wait forever if you just want a ticket. As far as actual movie experience goes, nothing to complain about. Went there for Star Wars/Rogue One on 16 December 2016 for the 12:15 pm showing on screen 15. Way, way, way too many ads before the movie and the sound WAS TOO LOUD the whole time. Went to see the 4:30 showing of the incredibles 2 today. Carmike Theaters would have been ashamed of the condition of this theater if they still ran it. The lobby and concession area was FILTHY, only a quarter of the drink machines were functional. Management was indifferent and just stood around. When my wife asked about the drink machines (again remember this was most of them that weren't working properly ) the manager nonchalantly replied 'yeah we get someone on that'. The carpets looked as if they hadn't been cleaned since the merger. If this is the standard that AMC considers acceptable for a family that is spending approximately $80 bucks for tickets and concessions then I can wait for movies to come out on pay per view. This is an average theatre, nothing to really hoot and holler about. Prices are high but that is to be expected. One thing that was good is that they have soda machines and a icee machine that you can refill on your own. They even had a soda machine centrally located by the screening rooms. Really gross. Went to see Thor Ragnarok, hence the 2 stars because it was hilarious. But we went to the early movie during the week day, but the 2 lines stretched to the door for tickets and food despite the time of day. They never opened up another cashier until about 20 min into us standing there. The bathrooms looked like last night was Saturday and nobody cleaned up before they opened again. No butter in the dispensers, popcorn all over the floor. They had run out of the popcorn buckets. The funniest/unprofessional thing was the stack of crates/boxes of food haphazardly stacked in one of the hallways. At one point, a puzzled employee stood there I can only guess trying to locate that product they needed. I truly dislike AMC taking over for Carmike because it was NEVER this bad. read more
