Honest to god, the absolute worst theater I've ever had the displeasure of visiting in all my moviegoing life. Complete disaster top to bottom every single time I go. Over the years, I've had literally countless plainly unacceptable and appalling experiences here since AMC bought this place out. I once bought tickets MONTHS in advance only to show up the day of, wait in a full theater for 45 MINUTES, and have an employee come in and tell us that they never actually received the movie in the first place. There was never another opportunity to see this same movie again so the replacement passes were useless. One of the most infuriating customer service experiences of my life. I've experienced movies starting 45 minutes late (and consequently being forced to watch the end of a Taika Waititi movie about soccer.), bomb threats where we were expected to wait around in the parking lot for an undisclosed amount of time (Yes, while the place was literally under threat of being bombed.) if we wanted refunds, 2D movies starting in 3D (Endgame, opening night.) where a customer had to go ask an employee to start the whole movie over again, movie screens being completely green, and every other manner of nonsense you can imagine. When this place was a Carmike, the employees were all stoned teenagers, the poorly lit arcade was often full of child predators, and more than once I saw gum on toilet seats. All of this pales in comparison to the bullshit I've experienced in the years since the buyout. On top of that, the theater is disgusting and horribly rundown. Every inch of it is filthy, poorly maintained, or just straight up unusable. If you're trying to see a movie in Greenville, good luck. Since Regal was bought out, there are 0 viable options. I went with my church group for an afternoon movie. Fortunately, our group leaders had pre-purchased our movie tickets, so my only expense was at the concessions stand. The employees worked efficiently to complete our food orders before we headed into the movie. The theater was impressive with reclining seats and a great sound system (even though I thought it was a bit too high volume). My only negative comments are - the louder movie in the theater next door overshadowed the quieter movie I was watching. The other comment was the same commercials repeated over and over before the movie began. read more

I went to go see scream 7 with a friend for the 6:40 time slot. My friend was running late so I went ahead to purchase the tickets. The lady asks me for ID because it was an "R" rated movie (okay). I told her it wasn't on me and I had accidentally left it at the house so I called and asked for it to be sent via text message from someone from my house. I show it to her then she tells me "oh I can't take digital " and I look at her and say "you're joking , you asked to see ID and I show it to you " she says "I can't look at it but a manager can" so the manager comes over and I tell him "I'm literally 26l and he says rudely "that really doesn't matter we need to do it for everyone ". Long story short , they didn't ID the white guy that was after me that was seeing the same exact movie that looked the same age as me. Got the ticket then when I went up to give the guy my ticket , he then proceeds to ask me for my ID like what in the world , I've never been carded this much for a movie. The manager was a jerk about it. Never going back there again. Might I add , I saw scream 6 there in 2023 4x in this theater and NEVER was carded not one single time. read more

This theater had a huge screw up tonight, the movie we were supposed to watch was switched to a different auditorium and all of the seats got screwed up. So instead of letting us sit in our own seats that we payed for a month in advance they let other people sit there. We asked very nicely for the security guard to ask them to move and he very sternly said " NO NO NO I have to figure this out" while putting his hands up at us. That wasn't professional at all. Everyone else was sitting in random spots and instead of letting us (who were trying to do the right thing by telling someone) sit in random seats they told us we could wait for the 10:45 on show. We are 2 hours away we cannot wait. So we asked for the manger and we were told he (DAVE) was "too overwhelmed at the moment". Welp we didn't leave we waited and eventually he came out. This is a candid and honest review. This movie theater is not properly maintained. It is unclean, bathrooms are disgusting, theater floors are sticky and full of food. While the staff is somewhat pleasant, it doesn't make up for the lack of cleanliness. Pre-COVID, I throughly enjoyed going to the movies, but now this theater makes me want to stay away. read more

Best movie theater in Greenville (only 1 of 2). Actually has reserved reclining seats and a bar which are what makes it awesome. It's obvious that this place is has been renovated because some of the theaters still have that dank, old theater smell, whereas others don't. Despite that, the space is great overall. The bar drinks (though expensive) are delicious and make the movie going experience better. Today, I got the mango margarita and it was delicious. Everything is kept very clean and neat. I took a star off for the consistently dry service. The ticket tearer and the snack bar staff are always attentive but dull. The bar tender was the best out of everyone. Either way, I'll be back soon because this is the best of Greenville when it comes to theaters and pros certainly outweigh the cons. read more

Terrible theatre, there are problems every time I go here, from messed up sound systems, to blurry pixelated projections of movies that look like 480p, and constant mess that is the whole theatre. The place is nasty, trash, grease, grime, and ancient popcorn line the floors. I asked an employee about this once and literally got a disaffected grunt in return. The movie selection is also quite questionable with Jesus films and alt-right documentaries taking up slots that large releases should be getting. It's a shame there are only 2 theaters in town since the Golden Ticket is also terrible. read more

WINTER WEATHER WARNING!!! I have never been to a theater where I wished I had a blanket until now. The theater was nice but it was like sitting outside in 30 degree temperatures. We were in theater 8 and it felt like the only area that had heat was the lobby and bathrooms. So glad I wore my winter coat and had gloves in my pocket to keep my fingers warm. I see about 12 movies a month at this theater as part of their AMC Stubs A-List Plan. Generally, I have enjoyed this service - although this theater does not always have showings of more independent (The Peanut Butter Falcon is an example) or international films. I do wish they would dedicate one screen to more indie and art house features. The only other complaint I have is with their outdated corporate policy on phones in the theater as it affects people with hearing loss and disabilities who are not allowed to use their devices with hearing aid apps. This is not the fault of this specific location - but it would be wise for the corporate policy to be modified to better aid the hearing impaired. The staff here is generally friendly and helpful. They often recognize their repeat customers. There is one usher in particular who actually recites the movie tag lines and clever quips to almost every customer as he takes tickets. He is always friendly and upbeat even when dealing with large. sometimes impatient crowds. The managers I have interacted with at this theater also seem cool. The reclining seats work well and are comfortable. The theaters here are usually quite clean and well kept. On Tuesdays AMC features discounted tickets. One small note* - this theater does not have a separate box office. Tickets are purchased inside the lobby at the concession stand. read more

Something is going on with this theater and I am not sure what it is. Pulled up in the parking lot and there is trash everywhere. Walked up to go in trash was everywhere. Lobby where you make your purchases and grab your drinks, butter, napkins, etc filthy. Some of the staff just dragging like they couldn't care less not all but a few. You have those that are pulling up the slack ones. The movie was so loud like beyond normal loudness in a theater. We always like coming here but this was not a pleasant experience. Not a terrible theater we have the AList rewards membership where we pay a monthly fee to see movies so we are here at least once a week. Overall the theaters are always clean and the staff are friendly. We have had several issues however in rated R movies with VERY small children in the theater at later times which seems really weird especially considering the content of the movies and how disruptive they have been. Seems like a huge problem too of people being courteous and having their phone in full brightness and taking it out multiple times during the movie but obviously not on the fault of the business. read more

The choices of what movies AMC Firetower runs can be dubious at best. we are almost 1 month past Halloween and yet, AMC Firetower is still showing scary movies plus religious-based films. Having only one movie building in Greenville area at this time for about 1 year limits the variety of films. However, when you devote multiple screens to Taylor Swift tour and soon to Beyoncé tour, you don't show quality films ! for example: Maestro is being released Thanksgiving Day, but it doesn't seem to even be listed as coming in the next weeks. Many fine British films and cultural "art house" films on historical persons don't seem to show up here. Special Events like a video recording of a Broadway show (which Regal always had) are never here. if we were closer to any other movie places (but Gardner is the closest) to have Quality movies. Too much driving! I enjoyed seeing Oppenheimer - wonderful movie and Barbie a week later. But if the 2,m shows were not promoted as a double feature, then I honestly don't know if this theater would carry Oppenheimer. When the theater was a Carmike Theater, the management /owner showed Quality movies evenly balanced with kids movies and horror movies. Not anymore! Greenville is getting a new movie house soon where Regal Cinemas were. I wonder if AMC can hold up in competition. I will be watching to see how ANC does in 2024. IMPROVE ! read more

I've visited this location since before the change in ownership, and I can say that it's gotten even better than it already was. There is plenty of parking, though how well the parking is depends on what time of day you're going and what you're there to see if course (new releases will be packed on the same day). Their lighting on the parking lot is a little dull, though that's pretty standard for a theater parking lot. The inside is appropriately lit, not too bright. The concession stand is clean as is the inside area, on most days. The associates are friendly and the wait time again depends on time of day. They do run specials and have membership opportunities of you're an advent movie watcher. I've never had any issue with this location over the years of my frequenting. I went to the AMC on Fire Tower Road for the first time last night to see the movie 1917 with a friend. This was my first time visiting a movie theatre in Greenville as well as ever attending an AMC establishment. I was pleasantly surprised with this location, however, it's important to note that I love seeing movies in the theaters and can be easily impressed. The first thing I noticed was how large the entire facility was, including the lobby area. There was a long line for concessions with only limited people working the counter. That said, the line still moved fast. We ordered regular popcorn, used the self-serve melted butter station (hell yeah!), and ordered an ICEE, which I mixed and made Coca-Cola and cherry flavors (i.e., the best). We also each ordered drinks from the bar; I had a double cranberry vodka soda, and my boyf had some type of whiskey or other drink. I was also pleasantly surprised that the bar was fully stocked. I was aware alcohol was served here prior to coming, but I didn't realize it was actually a full bar that had liquor drinks. Awesome! Finally, and most importantly, the seats were bomb. I have never been to a reclining theater but have always wanted to. I loved that I could lean back and prop my feet up while watching a show. The seats were spacious, very comfortable, and appeared clean. The only negative thing was that any time someone in our theater reclined back, there was a loud sound that reverberated and sounded almost like a fart. As immature as that is (and as mortified as I am to even write about it, especially in a Yelp review), it was actually pretty funny. Good times overall. read more

We bought and reserved our seat assignments online about an hour before our movie started. Picked up our tickets at the kiosk when we arrived. Drinks (both sodas and ICEEs) are self-serve, just purchase the cup - you can refill at any time :D Reclining seats are comfortable and clean, although a bit squeaky so I wouldn't adjust too much in the middle of a movie unless you want everyone to hate you. I also like how each theatre isn't too crowded, minimizing the number of potential chatty people around you...and end-of-movie applauders, too. read more

Highly opposed pros and cons with this theater. The theater layout is great. Pro: Reclining chairs with plenty of walking room between rows are great. Con: Even if you buy your assigned seats online and print them at the kiosk at the theater, if you want popcorn, you have to wait in the same line with people who are buying tickets at the theater, and they are SLOW, because they have to educate every ticket buyer on how their seat selection works. It's got to be one of the MOST STUPID 'innovations' I've ever seen at any business. Tip: Avoid the concession stand chaos of waiting in line with people buying tickets and bring your own snacks. The popcorn is chewy and terrible. When was it made? Tastes like it wasn't very recently. While we waited in the line 20 minutes for popcorn, one of the concession workers repeatedly shouted out over the crowd to tell people which movies were sold out. Seriously? Let's see bought our tickets on line, got to the theater early popcorn drink prepaid on line. Walked in got popcorn drinks went and sat in the theater10 minutes before start time an hour later we're still looking at a blank screen checked numerous times they said it was starting soon. No one from the theater came in and said anything, people started leaving one guy a customer came in and said they would give refunds except the people that had bought on line. They would refund the movie but none of the fees for buying an online ticket. Not one person from the theater came in and said anything. I'm updating my review. What used to be the worst major theater in town (in fairness, there are only two), has become the best. Those seats, OMG! So great. And such privacy. A true gem, except for one thing: Manager(s), please make it clear to everyone: customers, staff, anyone, that there is reserved seating. For as comfortable the seats are, making a family of four move (only because you know if you don't you'll have to move and then they will again, etc etc) is not a good experience. It's a horrible experience trying to stake your claim to paid for seats. Making others move. Really, really not fun. At All. ADVERTISE SEAT ASSIGNMENTS. Make it a plus, not a negative. Lack of management!! Tickets were purchased online with a seat selection for two people next to each other. After tickets were scanned from the online order tickets. There was no one guiding us to the correct correct entrance so we walked around looking to see which entrance had our movie and time we selected. After checking every entrance we back to the counter and was told to go to entrance 11. Went to entrance 11 and sat our designated seats. Waiting through the previews I noticed that the preview movies were inappropriate for children. The previews contained profanity and adult situations. We got up to complain about the previews only to find out we were sent to the wrong movie. We were refunded and had to stay another hour later to watch the movie. We also had to pay instead of being given a discount or something for our inconvenience. read more

How can you not give a $5.50 cent theater a 4 star. And do not look for stadium seating. Clean with a good sound system. It is nothing like the dine in theater I am so used to. Seating is from back in the day when they weren't that comfortable. The concession stand is crazy expensive. 5.00 for a 20 ounce bottle of water and it was not Deer Park. $18 dollars for large pop corn and soda. Not much to choose from. You will not find chicken fingers or pizza in there. Definitely I am in the south. Came to see "The Conjuring." Pretty entertaining movie if you like the paranormal stuff. Funny to me since I do not believe in such things. But if you looking for a theater near Plymouth NC. This is the best it gets for a 40 min drive. It is Kid friendly. Best movie experience ever! The convenience of reserving a seat beforehand and the comfort of the reclining leather seats are enough to get you off your couch. It's worth the cost of a movie ticket. Sound quality is excellent and you don't hear other movies going on. It's always been very clean when I've gone and other movie goers have been polite and considerate. I like to treat myself to Sunday matinees. I use the app for everything too. The Regal is 10 min from my house and that was my theatre until I came here. I do like having two really nice theatres in town though. If you've not experienced comfy, cushy seats you have to give it a try. It's like being right at home but enhanced! I use to go to this theatre before the makeover and I have to say the makeover is just what it needed. The seats are amazing ( recline, relax and enjoy the show). They added great rewards program. They have kiosks up front for ticket purchase so you can skip the ticket line all together or get them online of course. The only downside is that they combined the ticket counter and concession stand. For big movies or even opening nights the lines can be long ( that is where that nice rewards program comes in) if you pay an extra price for top membership you get a special line and nice discounts. I think the makeover is what the theatre needed. It has become my go to place to see movies. The staff was nice, helpful and fast each time I have been too. read more

This theater has done a complete 180 degree turn. The staff are incredible (Morgan) and the manager. Always pleasant and even under stressful situations. I'm a youth Pastor for a local church and when we come in with 15 students they are still awesome. Thank you for being the best Theater in Greenville and for making us feel like family. read more
