We see a lot of movies but don't come to this theater often. The theater is clean, and the location is great. My seat and my daughters did not recline and the sound was way off. We could hardly hear the movie. When I went to find an employee to let them know, the manager came up to me and said it was fine and he would not be fixing the sound. So we listened to the entire movie with half of the sound off. Will probably stick with the Cinemark across the street from here on out. read more

What an absolute waste of money. Went last night to see Deadpool and Wolverine. Order the large popcorn and was told I'd get a refill with it. After the film, i went to the counter and was immediately asked for my personal info, by a different person that honestly seemed very shady abs made the claim that the tell was only of i signed up and refused to honor what i was clearly misinformed about. Then, on top of everything else, i ended up getting sick to my stomach that night and spent the night with food poisoning. Im never coming back here and you shouldn't either. About standard pricing but they have shelves of kids toys by the snacks so you can purchase for what, keep them quiet during the film? The theaters are numbered but they have screens outside each door without displaying what's playing. If you carefully read your ticket, you can find the number of your theater, but why not post them on the screens outside the doors? The seating was comfortable but narrow and we had the benefit of a rattling vent so every loud, Dolby noise was accompanied by the sound of a theater that's seen better days. Thank you AMC for offering Sensory Friendly Films! Excellent for people on the Autism Spectrum, younger children, and older people who don't enjoy the full dark and extra loud movie-going experience. The popcorn is excellent too! With the AMC Stubs card it's a great value. My boys love getting to go in the fast lane, and we get to go into a movie before their patience is worn and a tantrum is in full effect. I really appreciate the seating in the Layton AMC, soo comfy and quiet. My son was soo happy that our ticket-taker was disabled. Seeing older people in the community that have meaningful employment has soo much value for young people who are in need acceptance and representation. Came in to watch Top Gun. Lots of seats available for a Sunday. However we were met with disappointment when the snack menu said everything besides Popcorn was unavailable. Our group of 3 had no choice but candy and popcorn for snacks, but only 5 minutes later another person in our party came to meet us, and was able to order nachos and a pretzel. Disappointing since none of us had breakfast and we'd expected to eat during the show. Near the butter and soda machines was littered with bits of trash. It didn't look clean at all. Alongside the soda machines were empty napkin dispensers. To enter the theater, tickets must be checked. There was a line and we spent about 2-5 minutes having our tickets looked at. Not too bad, but something to keep in mind for timing your visit. My reclining seat was slashed in the cushion, exposing foam. It wasn't horrible and didn't take away from my viewing, but just goes to show this theater isn't the nicest nor is it well kept. read more

The A/C is still out in theater room 7. I could not comftorably enjoy watching my movie without having to adjust every 5 minutes to prevent sweat build-up. I still left sweaty and oily from the theater. If you get theater room 7 just do yourself the favor of refunding your tickets and go across the street. read more

We love this theater. We drive out of our way to go here. The seating is awesome. They have lounger recliners and partitions to make it feel like you aren't on top of each other and to keep the rude person behind you from kicking your chair. You don't hear as much taking either which is a plus. The loungers serm larger than other theaters, and the partitions is the thing that seals the deal for me. You can barely see anyone above it below you. It's great, you don't feel like you have many people in there with you. It's very roomy and they are paired so that you can put one arm up between chairs and sit closer if you want. Many bring blankets and get comfy for the show which I love. So you aren't the odd man out if you bring a blanket, it's a regular thing here. They allow drink refills too which is great and they have a lot of food & snack options. They have a rewards program, and there is a free level and a premium level. The free level has some good perks like no convenience fee when ordering tickets online. You can also get special pricing on Tuesdays. They also have an option to pre-order food and snacks so that it's ready for you. read more

I'm sure that my review will echo both the good and bad points that most of the other reviews have already pointed out, but here goes my 3-star review in a nutshell.... The Good: * Recliners in all theaters make for a great movie watching experience! * Usually less busy than other theaters in the area so it's good to check here if a movie is sold out elsewhere. * $5.00 Tuesdays is a great deal (if you are an AMC Stubs member) and can mean less than half price in some cases * Friendly ticket window and concessions staff The Bad: * Fewer screens mean less movie options. In this case, "fewer" is relative. They have plenty of screens but can't compare to the behemoth down the road that is Cineplex. * Ticket prices are higher at AMC than at all other local movie theaters. Other local theaters offer recliner seats now at lower prices so you can't use that as a selling point for AMC anymore. The Ugly: * No real discounts for matinee showtimes. This one is just standard for all theaters and has been forever. Make it worth our while to come earlier AMC! * Concessions prices are insane and easily double your cost of seeing a movie unless you refuse to have any snacks. I am absolutely appalled that management doesn't take better care of their establishment. When you walk into the lobby, the floors were absolutely filthy; popcorn covered the floor, mats sticky from spilled soda, popcorn butter counter was just as bad. Even worse were employees not following basic food handling precautions: 1 they did not have their hair up and in a hat; one employee was cutting pizza with his hair down his entire back 2 not using gloves to scoop popcorn or when they were touching things for food, I can keep going. Bathrooms were absolutely disgusting, and the garbages smelled so bad you could smell it down the entire hall walking into the theatre. The theatre we were in was just as bad as the lobby, and the plexiglasses in front of your chairs were disgusting and looked as if they haven't been cleaned for who knows how long. I have worked in foods for well over fifteen years and being short staffed (if that was the case, which I highly doubt since employees would randomly show up to talk to their friends) just isn't an excuse for how bad the entire building was. Management, you need to step up your game and take better care of your building and train your employees far better than you have for them. They have so much more potential but are failing them; teach them to lead and take charge when things need to be done and learn better time management. read more

Very disgusting. Bathrooms are filthy. Mold growing in the hand dryers, urine and feces in filthy toilets with mold rings. Broken sinks, toilet paper dispensers, trash all over the floor. Door handles are sticky and disgusting to touch. Theater was filthy. Seats are sticky and not cleaned. Floors are trashy, trash cans over flowing onto the floor. No air was on, hot, stagnant. Miserable to be in. Food counters, are unsanitary. Spills, food particles all over. Front entry was finger printed, filthy. No pride or care of this facility. read more

Came to watch a preview movie. We were charged $15 for the movie. Once we were seated the Previews ran through twice. After 40 minutes and 3 visits to staff in the lobby to get the movie going, we were met with a lukewarm response. Staff was totally unresponsive. Finally, after 45 minutes the actual movie started. Not impressed with the staff at all. To be fair, this is the first time we have had problems with this theater, but it was very frustrating for all in the theater. read more

This is how theaters should be. Yes, it is a couple bucks more than the competition and no, the matinees aren't much cheaper. But there are some awesome perks to this theater: 1.) The stadiums are all filled with reclining seats. You have a cup holder between you and automatically reclining seats that allow you to kick your feet up and lay back. Heck, if the movie stinks you have an ideal nap place! 2.) The snack bar is good. Popcorn was great and they have the machine where you can pump as much artery clogging butter substitute as you want on your corn. They have those fancy coke machines that let you pour your own flavors as well. One thing missing is iced tea. Sometimes I want a choice between soda and water. I also tried a hotdog and pretzel and they were fantastic (and not too spendy.) 3.) The theaters seem to be climate controlled well. They don't go through drastic hot / cold cycles like some of the other theaters and you are comfortable for the whole show. 4.) Cleanliness. This place was really clean from the theaters to the lobby to the restrooms. I like this AMC location and look for reasons to go see movies here. read more

First of all... Recliners! Yeah it's a pretty big deal. Sitting in those things was like watching a movie at home, that I paid like $12 for. They do charge extra for that reason obviously which is fine. It was fairly clean and it looks like it's well taken care. Nothing is worse than sticky floors and popcorn everywhere but that wasn't the case. The only personal problem I had was the fact that I went to a late movie, got comfy on my recliner, and fell asleep.. Going back here on a date because the armrests move up and become a couch. I have to admit I wasn't impressed by the facade, or by the lobby. My sister was right, however, when she insisted the seating inside is AMAZING. The concession staff was very friendly and helpful, and when I walked into the theater behind sis, mom, and dad, my jaw dropped. Leather-like reclining seats, with electric controls, allow you to put your feet up, and recline in style. They are wide and roomy, with plenty of elbow room. The number of seats in the theater is small, guaranteeing there is never a huge crowd around you. We saw Jurassic World in 3D, and we all had a terrific experience. I will definitely be going back, as my husband and I are movie enthusiasts. Clean, comfortable, friendly staff. read more

There's more to the theatre besides the chairs. Yes, the chairs are nice but... Concessions are overpriced compared to other theaters. $20.99 for two drinks and a popcorn is excessive. Popcorn tasted bad and no amount of butter or salt could fix that. Two of the three Coke machines didn't work (10+ people in line for one machine). Purchased tickets for Star Wars and arrived early. The seats we purchased were destroyed. Duct tape all over the seat an back, two of the five seats did not recline. The only real bright spot was the young lady taking tickets, she was enjoyable to talk to. This is one of my favorite movie locations in the area. It isn't usually packed, and they have the comfortable reclining seats! I am a Stubs member, but I also have bought tickets from Fandango, and Atom to collect points and try out their 3rd party systems as well. I've never had a problem at this location. I just saw "IT" this weekend, and I had a great experience. No one was talking or on their phones (that I noticed!) and it was a great time to spend with my family. Love AMC! read more

AMC seems old. The sound system must be old. Very hard to hear the conversation in the movie.

In my opinion, this is the best movie theater in the Salt Lake area. The seats are AMAZING, their screens are nice and clean and they have fantastic audio. Their main selling point is their reclining chairs. Other places are starting to do this too, but this is the place that has it down pat. They go back down far enough so it seems fine even if you're in the first few rows, and they're a lot wider to make sure that it's accommodating for everyone. The middle seat section comes up as well if you need and want to get some cuddle time in. Their prices are the same as Megaplex and less than Cinemark, so pretty comparable to everyone else and their concessions are priced fairly too. The only real gripe I have about this place, is that it's pretty hard to be able to get tickets, seeing how the theater can only accommodate about 50-75 people. Understandable, but it sucks when you have to go to a lower quality theater. But, if you're in the area, make sure to stop by. It's the best choice you can make. read more

AMAZING THEATER!! We've been going to this theater to see every movie we've watched for the last few years. We are in love with the seating!! Today we went and saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Somehow 2 of our seats were double sold. We talked to an usher who double checked & then got his manager to figure out a plan. I wasn't at all upset because I knew they would figure out what to do. All the sudden several of the staff brought in extra reclining chairs (it took several as they are heavy chairs) and of course Obi Wan happened to be one of the guys carrying the seat.. I couldn't help but think "Help me Obi Wan Kenobi you're our only hope!" Haha anyways not only did they make sure to sit us comfortably at our movie the manager also apologized and gave us tickets to visit again. Of course we would go back anyways but it was just amazing how great they were!! Thank you again so much to the wonderful staff!!!! We LOVE this place!!! read more

I love, love, LOVE!!! the seating here! The seats are like lazy boys! Each person can control how much they want to recline. The seats are done in pairs of two. There is an armrest between them so you're not sitting on top of your neighbor. However, the armrest does move if you want to be able to snuggle with your neighbor. Very comfortable and home-like option! The screens are nice and the sound system is great! The only thing that I noticed was that you could hear the planes from HAFB once. However, that's not the theater's fault. I don't really have much to say about the concession stand area as I don't usually purchase anything from them. read more
