On BBB site it said Dodd's had been around since 1985 so I chose them. The tech came out and found the problem the first tech missed. (First tech just suggested I get my evaporator pulled and cleaned for a very high price.) It was a bad relay causing my heating element to come on when the AC was on. Topped off my Freon level and explained that, while my evaporator coils were dirty, they also leaked, so it wasn't worth cleaning a 10 year old unit. My AC works like normal again, but before he left I got a quote for an entirely new inside system. Fair price, I'm going to call them again soon to have it done. Highly recommend giving Dodd's a chance, see if you end up as pleased as I did with the service.

They tend to show up late and do only some of what they are supposed to do (we have caught them not doing various checks and services several times). After one such service, my husband went in the attic to check what they had done and found that the reservoir tray under the unit was completely full of water... Something a good technician would have seen and addressed while there. To make matters worse, the techs get an attitude if you mention anything. Such a shame. It made me think of the situation where parents have been running a company for decades then have to retire and leave the biz to the kids who kind of... don't run it quite so well.

Chad Rutty is amazing and went far beyond what most other business owners would do. 2,000 miles away, with renters in my Groves, TX home, I called him and said my a/c was out. In the middle of a heat wave, he dropped everything and immediately went to restore air for the third time in three years. My a/c unit was original to my home, built in 1998. Rutty has kept it running for me, but we decided it was time to replace the unit rather that feeding money into a 24 year old unit. I'm still 2,000 miles away and couldn't even get a check to him. He trusted me to pay him, and didn't let the family in my home suffer for a day. His service is exemplary.

The price was about 650$. Then we asked where the leak was because it's a little ridiculous to do that without knowing where the leak was. So we got a leak detection price. $1350.00. I almost croaked. We asked them to leave and called another company. Their leak price is $100.00 and will come off the price if they do the repair. Worse part is it was for my daughter so if I wasn't there what would have happened. Last week they told her she needed a new unit. Oh and she has a service contract with them. Canceled that too. Highly unethical to try to rip of a young lady.
