They have good snacks and drink options, I always prefer Coca Cola at my theaters and their popcorn is great, staff is normally pretty friendly and the seats are comfortable enough for longer viewings. What's frustrating about this theater is that there isn't a separate line to simply scan your ticket, despite their being booths available when you walk in. This means that people who've already bought their tickets have to wait in the same line as people getting snacks or purchasing tickets, which just bogs down the process for everyone involved. I recently went to see The Odyssey in IMAX opening night and the theater tried something new, which was arguably just as bad. Instead of having everyone wait in the same line for snacks and popcorn staff told us to stand in a separate line for a single booth to scan our tickets. The line did not move until about 10 minutes before the movie was set to start, maybe even less. When was the process started it did move at a good pace, but by then the line was literally out of the building. Why this theater has chosen to abandon already their built ticket booths that were being used as little as two years ago in favor of these slower, less customer friendly models I do not know. These line/ ticket taking models have led me to attend movie theaters that are farther away, some with less desirable food and drink selections. Scanning an already purchased ticket should be the last thing someone worries about when attending a movie, but this theater has made that possible Due to these reasons I only attend this theater when I wish to see a movie in IMAX, despite the friendly staff and good snack options. read more

I am updating my review of AMC Westroads to be 5 stars now. While they don't have as many snacks or treats as the Council Bluffs location, they actually take care of their theaters a little bit better. The IMAX at the Council Bluffs AMC is in bad shape, and they actually just shut it down to refurbish it recently, so I'm confused. There are lines running through the screen there at the CB AMC IMAX so it's very distracting. The AMC Westroads IMAX screen is perfect and very clear, in both visuals and audio. They're great for those little movies that come out (not the big ones we want to see in Dolby, Alamo features, etc.). The lobby and theater are usually pretty clean, and it's not super busy most times we've come, which is not the case at many other theaters. They don't have the comfy recliner seats that a lot of other theaters now have, but I can sit for two hours without needing to lay down for the movie LOL So while this theater is good for smaller movies that don't need to be seen in Dolby, they have now entered the IMAX game too as the superior contender vs. the larger IMAX at AMC Council Bluffs! read more

Not the best theater and certainly not the worst. While it could definitely use some upgrades, if you want usually quiet movie experience, then this might be your place. Tuesdays and Wednesday are key discount days. The popcorn has been consistently fresh and they have great food/drink/dessert options as well. Not the most affordable at the concessions, but they all came out great. They also recently got their arcade area up and running again. Kids definitely want to try that out. read more

I don't frequent movie, theaters often, but had a good experience here. Nothing out of the ordinary, the only surprise was that no one checked our tickets at the front! We got a few snacks, all of which were good. The movie was great, so our seats, and the volume levels. If anything, a little on the loud side! I only wish these seats were a bit more comfortable. The theaters I have been to in recent years had much more comfortable seating, so that was the only thing I noticed lacking here. They did a great job with a wicked backdrop so we were able to get some good photo options for our group! read more

I don't go to this theater much honestly mostly because it doesn't have the reclining seats but I was trying to see a movie that was being shown in theaters that were obviously too small at the CB theater because it was constantly full. So when I saw that the theater here only had about 10 people in it decided to sacrifice comfort for finally getting to see a movie I wanted to see. Theater was clean for the most part, Bobby was a little messy someone that's filled and it was sticky and hadn't been cleaned up. I guess I didn't remember how big the theater is and how far away the theater that I was seeing a movie and was from the entrance. The main reason for my two-star rating has to do with the check-in process. It's ridiculous that you have to check in at the concession stand. So you have to wait in line for people who are buying popcorn drinks and all that fun stuff to be able to scan your tickets. Which the woman was like yeah I'm sorry we don't have a separate checking spot here and I said well it makes it hard to make it to movies on time if you don't know this. Honestly sometimes I run late cuz I know that AMC's have about 20 to 30 minutes of trailers before the movie even starts so thankfully I was a little early but I still miss like 10 minutes of the trailer is because of this line and check-in process. Then additionally the woman tried to insist that I needed the ticket and I was like no I'm fine I've got the app and my tickets right on the app she's like no you need to take this and I was just trying to rush to get to my movie and there was still people behind me who are also trying to get to movies that it was a little embarrassing to have her try and yell after me, like who's going to come after me to see if I have the paper ticket when I actually got the electronic version. Equalizer 3 is finally playing starring Denzel Washington !! The lobby and theater is always neat, clean and the staff are always very friendly. I really enjoyed watching movies here because the audio system is really good. I usually go during the day time because they have a great price and they give military discounts. As to be expected the food prices are a little expensive, but nothing out of the norm. I like the location because parking is plentiful and it's attached to the mall on the food court side. This location is never crowded when I go and I like that because I can enjoy my movie without too many distractions. read more

This might be the worst theater in Omaha. Saw a movie tonight and there was probably five or six employees behind the counter standing around. The area around the drink machine and the butter machines were absolutely disgusting and not clean at all. Their seats are old and not that comfortable because of the way that they rock back-and-forth. The bathroom had a huge water spill all over the floor, and the counters in there were also disgusting. AMC should be downright embarrassed. This place needs a major rehaul not to mention of course, the absolute ridiculous prices for their food there. Who would even eat here seeing how disgusting the entire inside of this building was. I will NOT be back. read more

This place is GROSS. DO NOT go here if you like to spend your time on clean, hygeinic spaces. Bathrooms were absolutely foul, and it took a long time to find one that wasn't covered in filth AND had a handle. Honestly why were so many stalls without handles??? The concession stand was gross with almost all slushy machines broken or unclean. A river of muddy melted ice and spilled drinks were all over in front of concessions. Unsafe and slippery. It's a trash theater. I took my Saturday off work to drive over an hour in the snow with my girlfriend to see a movie. Then the movie went blackscreen three times within 20 minutes of the movie starting. I wanted to leave and get my refund, the staff was very arrogant and angry, they told me there was no refund since I payed it with my online banking account , I was only given a gift card worth less than what I paid. My husband and I went to this theatre and right at the climax of the movie one of the workers came in to be ready to clean the theater. When he came in he was loudly cussing and he sat down and immediately got on his phone and began scrolling through his social media apps on his phone. He continued to turn the volume up and as he did so he would look right at me because he knew what he was doing. My husband and many others were so distracted we missed the entire ending of the movie. Very frustrating. read more

Like the rest of the AMC Theaters I've attended of late, this one has consistently been clean and attractive. They have the old 'rocking' seats instead of the fancy new recliners. Since I don't care about that so much, it's not a bother. They suitable and, thus far, have born no remnants of the previous attendees. :) Always a plus! While I didn't spend a paycheck on food this time, I have, previously, enjoyed the concessions. Good selection, and the staff was quite enjoyable. Always a plus, recalling sullen help in my youth. Perhaps being old has perks. The projection has been good. The sound, exceptional. Since it's clean, the only scents are food and people. Happily, both have been pleasing. YMMV. At least hire an idiot who can make change when you pay cash. He acted scared that someone paid cash. We had to tell him what he owed us back in change and he gave us tickets to the wrong movie. There's nothing wrong with this location, but compared to other theatres in the area it is far less updated. The seats don't recline and aren't terribly comfortable, but the prices are the same as most other theatres around, so I would go here if a particular showing time fits best with my schedule, but it wouldn't be my first choice. read more

Originally opened as a Rave theater and then bought out by AMC, it's pretty typical. Not a place we'd choose to go to, but sometimes the timing works out well and we end up here. They also have IMAX and 3D shows if you're into those things. Last time we were here nobody was even taking tickets... for what was apparently a sold out show. I've been going to this movie theater for years, and it has slid downhill incredibly fast in just the last few years. This review is based off of two experiences I had within the last few weeks. I saw Hereditary on a Tuesday early afternoon, and I also went and saw The Incredibles 2 on a Saturday evening; during both times, you can tell management is committed to running this place on a skeleton crew. During the afternoon showing, I saw only ONE employee the entire time I was there - she was taking tickets at the concessions counter and doing concessions. When I let her know there was a projection issue in the theater, she said she would get right on it, and it was fixed right before the show, but it was troubling to see she had to do nearly everything by herself. During the evening showing, it was packed, but only five employees were working that I could see; one was at the ticket counter, two were at concessions, and two were swamped trying to clean out their very busy main screen features between crowds. This meant that areas such as the women's bathroom were not given attention and were absolutely DISGUSTING. All but one of the soap dispensers had no soap, the paper towels were empty (both before and after the movie), there were several stains of bodily fluids and substances on the toilet seats (they were dried, so who knows how long they've been there), and the floor was wet in places, but NOT like it had been mopped. To cap it off, after the movie the overflowing garbage bin was topped with an open diaper chock full of feces. The janitors were busy cleaning the theater, and I doubt they got to it before the end of the night. AMC is a usual choice for me because my family gives me gift cards on holidays, but I would rather try literally any other AMC theater location than go here again. Yikes! read more

The name says it all, "AMC Classic." You will not find reclining seats, assigned seats or McGuffin's Bar at this venue. However, we came here because they had more times available in comparison with the fancier AMC closer to where we were staying. The theater (albeit "classic") was clean and the food we ordered was tasty. The clerk that took our orders made sure to offer a better deal than the kids pack my son was ordering ($5 teen pack with "cameo" size popcorn and slushie) and let us know how long my husband's chicken fingers would take to ensure we were willing to wait. The movie took a bit to start...not sure if the person running the projector was taking a nap or restroom break, but otherwise all went well! read more

Went to see a movie here. I guess it's illegal to have your phone out in their theaters because within 2 minutes of having it out, their repugnant lady manager ran into the theater and up to me and loudly, demanded that I leave the theater. She accused me of violating federal laws and that I had been recording the movie on my phone. When I calmly attempted to explain that here claim was erroneous, she would hear none of it. I then proceeded to show her my photo/video album on my phone to prove that there was no videos of the movie whatsoever and she still loudly, embarrassingly demand that I leave the premises or she'd call the cops. I relented as I didn't want to further disturb the other patrons in the theater nor did I have any wish to further be in a theater that's presided over by such a jaded, uncompromising, malevolent individual. All I asked was for my money back and she refused. At that point I just left, as I didn't want to say or do anything that id regret. I was so shocked by this whole experience. I've have been attending movies at this theater nearly biweekly since in opened years and was quite simply shocked by it all. I will never be returning here again. To the owners of this theater I now speak directly to you, on behalf of your many customers, I sincerely hope that you will take the actions necessary to correct the wrong doing that occurred. Not just for me but for all of the patrons that this lady has undoubtably wronged. She was so quick to judgement that I have no doubt that I was not the first victim of her tyrannical power trips. When she is reprimanded/replaced, I will happily resume attending movies at your theater again. read more

I visit Omaha regularly and my family members and I have come to this theater because it's location is convenient. I'll never come here again. I buy the tickets through Atom but you have to stand in the ticket buyers' line to get scanned. However, the scanners never recognize the purchase so you have to have them enter the confirmation number. So, stupidly, I'm paying a $1.40 service charge per ticket to spend even more time to get in. It's doubly worthless because the seats aren't reserved. It took me three visits to figure out I was being conned so, next time I'll see if other Omaha theaters do better. read more

AMC bought these theaters from Rave on January 4th, 2013, which built this 14 screen cinema complex on the old Westroads Yonkers site, opening on November 14, 2008 to great fanfare. Now, after 6 years, the place still feels comfortable, even in the smaller theaters. A friend and I saw a Thursday Matinee ($4.50) showing of the new Bill Murray movie St. Vincent, and were the only two in our theater, do I don't know what the place is like when crowded for an opening or Holiday showing, but the hallways seemed large enough to move heavy traffic. They also had more concessions closer to the outer theaters. They have an IMAX theater here also, but I haven't been to it yet. Westroads is building their new Food Court just to the West, but I don't know if there will be any easy access there or to the other stores here, since there seemed to be no outlet. Today was a cold breezy day, so going back outside and finding another entrance to the Mall may turn out to be frustrating for some people. Time will tell... read more

Overall a nice, modern cinema in a centralized location. Bonus points for having an IMAX screen (I recently saw Interstellar and was not disappointed). Are the concessions pricey? Of course. Does it get overrun by teenagers on the weekends? Sure. But that's what we all expect these days from giant movie plex. Anyone remember the old cinema at Westroads? Usually, have a good time here but Tuesday was not good. The employees seemed pretty put out when I bought a ticket to the 8pm movie at 8:10pm and when I purchased a small popcorn it seemed like I was asking a lot. My brother and special needs cousin showed up late to the movie. I know I probably should have purchased their tickets with mine, but when they showed up at 8:20pm I did not think the doors would be locked. I asked the girl I bought the tickets from if they could come in and if we could purchase them tickets. She said no that they were already closed (I pointed to them waving at the door). I understand they were late but the previews for the movie had just ended when they came. I understand this was a Tuesday night and the theater isn't open very late. I just didn't think it was too much to ask to let them come in and buy tickets. Some employees would have to be there when the movie ended, so it was like they were showing up to a restaurant 5 minutes before closing. Ticket prizing is comparable to other big named movie theaters. However very expensive food and refreshments. Majestic has cheaper prizes compared to this low quality AMC movie theater. Workers are very rude and mean to helpless costumers visiting to watch newly released movies. Now for my personal experience at this crappy movie experience. I came with three other close friends. But one of my friends was diagnosed with a terminal disease. I'll call this friend John, for the sake of his identity. John, only had a week left to live. Can I get a R.I.P. in the chat. However, John is only 16 years old. Four days were left until he was 17 years of age. For John's Make-a-Wish, he asked to see "the scariest movie ever". That of course being Hereditary. This review isn't bout the movie but may I say, it was the most confusing movie, and it's also a piece of dog crap. As everyone knows, Hereditary is a R-rated movie. So this mean lady wouldn't let John see the movie even after we explained ourselves. To that lady, you should be very ashamed of yourself. You should be working at a trash facility. Cuz your trash. Yo, shout out to the cutie behind the counter. I have tried to give this theatre a chance, but it's just not as good as others in town. My biggest issue was that the exit sign had a green reflection on the movie the entire time and was overall Very distracting. the popcorn they gave me was stale. also, the self buttering thing was disgusting. it looked like a sock. also, I timed the ads and the movie was to begin at 6:30 but didn't until 7:00. other theaters still have ads but max out at 15 minutes. ive been here many times but it's not as good. i Know my friend loves it and there are some good qualities, such as many urinals, but i did not enjoy myself here. read more

Nice theater overall, but not my favorite. It is clean, with a lot of screens and centrally located at Westroads. The seats are updated and comfortable, but they are not the big cushy, super recliner types in some theaters. This is a completely acceptable place to catch a movie. My biggest complaint was that the last time we were there, we had to go track down an employee to have someone start our movie, 15 minutes after it should have started. read more
