Vintage Marketplace whisks shoppers off on an adventure as they walk through the doors. Each area is categorized by color: blues to the right, browns and whites straight ahead, violets in the back of the store. Open doorways weave in and out of the dividing wall, allowing customers to float freely from continent to continent... er... section to section. Beautiful, plush scarves caught my eye, as well as some of the old writing table decorations. One room in the back was filled with an assortment of accessories, like jewelry, hair barrettes, and hats. Incredibly well organized, this shop is like strolling through a fashion museum. Prices were a little higher than expected, and although there were two salesladies in the store, neither of them acknowledged that I was there. That bumped Vintage Marketplace down to three stars. I'd still stop back for a browse though. The window display changes frequently (and, in my opinion, is the most elaborate in Hyde Park), so something new will likely draw me in again.

Spoke with the owner for a while and she was so kind and does a great job running her business and puts a lot of heart into it. Jodie is amazing lady who really works hard keeping her shop easy to move throughout and the selection of items are fantastic. The place is neat and clean as well as all the items she displays for sale. Prices are unbeatable. Definitely a shop worth checking in regularly as her rotation and turnover of merchandise changes regularly. This little shop is amazing! I seriously could spend so much time in here looking over all of the collected items. My husband and I stopped in on Sunday while in the area. The shop's owner is friendly and can tell you something about literally anything you pick up. What show it's from, the year it was made, where he got it, etc. etc. It's a great place to find a cool, unique gift or just to find yourself something from your childhood that brings you joy.
