She has to step out a few times because of certain tools weren't in the correct place. After she treated me so quickly and not in a calm pace she left into another room to work with someone else. I went in a while back with a bit of vertigo but also a bit of severe light-headedness. I was shocked how quickly she arrived at the diagnosis, and she did it with lightning speed, which is why I initially thought her conclusion was suspect. Umm, not to mention, I didn't want to hear what she had to say! I didn't want to admit to myself that it was a neurological issue, not a vestibular one, since the latter is infinitely easier to treat and fix than the former. Anyway, despite that I didn't want to admit it to myself or to her at the time, she turned out to be correct. She's sort of has a robo-doc presence, and if you've ever seen the counterpart movie, you'll know what I'm talking about. My hearing decreased a bit so i looked a buying a new set to take advantage of changes in technology. They suggested the phonak ultrasphere. These have much better controls and integration with the iphone but to get better results you really have to know how to use the app. They got on support with Phonak and walked through my use case and we tailored the app (from the phonak app and apple dash board) so that i could adjust for different use cases : TV, playing live music, restaurant, etc. The Phonak can reprogram some settings with a remote session. So in my house we logged into a support call and they adjusted some of the settings. They also phoned me a few times so that i could learn about some of the nuances - such as adjusting sound levels of background noises. The Phonak allows adjusting speaker and mic levels as well as mike source. It's no fun losing your hearing as you get older but really great having the support of professionals who know their way around new technology!

After I got my aids, I needed assistance but they never returned my phone calls, emails, or a request for help through the manufacturer's iPhone app. It was worth it to me to pay a "transfer of coverage" fee to Dr. Lao to have her take over maintenance of them. To make a long story very short, the original dispenser put the wrong length wires on my aids so that the front-facing microphones were buried behind my ears making them useless. Certainly explains a lot, eh? Dr. Lao replaced the wires for me and now the hearing aids are in the right place - peeking over the tops of my ears and letting the microphones do what they were designed to do -- pointing towards people I am talking to so that I can hear them. I went to the clinic twice in the same day, first as a walk-in and later with a scheduled appointment. On my second visit, I waited for over 70 minutes and received no meaningful update about when I would be seen. Eventually, I had no choice but to leave. What was most disappointing was the receptionist's attitude. She appeared friendly and attentive to some patients, while being noticeably dismissive and rude toward others. As a patient, it is frustrating to feel ignored and treated differently, especially when already dealing with a health concern. Waiting can happen in healthcare settings, and most patients understand that. However, there is a big difference between unavoidable delays and poor communication combined with a lack of respect. After 70 minutes, I could have gone to another urgent care clinic and received treatment elsewhere. Patients deserve to be treated with courtesy, professionalism, and respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience today. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works to improve both customer service and communication with patients.

I just want my money back. Update: EZCare provided me with a complimentary consultation with a different physician to resolve the issue. Once the consultation started the doctor told me he was going into the consult blind. They failed to let him know what was going on . He told me he couldn't prescribe anything because it would be stepping on the toes of the previous provider. Needless to say this consult provided no therapeutic value. Communication is terrible. All communication goes through a call center that sounds like it's based out of India. I wish they had a feature where you could send a direct message to the provider. After many many calls. I'm done. Exhausted: this place actually did harm to my mental health.
