Highly recommend for after hour care! They don't see patients after 9:30pm, we got there at 9:28pm and they got us in! My child had respiratory issues , proper diagnosis was done, first dose of medication was given at the clinic and monitored her until her stats were good enough for us to take her home and advised accordingly. It was late and they didn't rush anything until they felt confident about my child's stats. Appreciate the staff so much, grateful for the care we received in time. read more

I am appalled by the unprofessional treatment I received from Dr. Stewart-Killion last night. After a brief, dismissive examination of my daughter's eye stye, I overheard her loudly criticizing me to a nurse while I was still paying at reception. She said, "I can't believe this mom left stye for a week and didn't do anything about it and just came here now. It's her job to take care. Seriously do your job!" What made this shocking was that Dr. Stewart clearly thought I had left the building and felt free to disparage me. When the nurse noticed I was still there and alerted her, she went dead silent - proving she knew exactly how inappropriate her behavior was. I was so shocked and hurt that I couldn't even speak up in the moment. I cried the entire drive home, questioning whether I'm a terrible mother. As someone trying her best with two young children, I brought my daughter in as soon as the small red spot developed into a noticeable lump. I've never dealt with a stye before so didn't know what it was and wanted professional guidance rather than self-diagnosing. This experience was humiliating and has shattered my confidence in seeking medical care when I'm unsure if something warrants a doctor's visit. No parent should be shamed for bringing their child for medical evaluation. While other doctors at this clinic have been wonderful, Dr. Stewart-Killion's unprofessional conduct is completely unacceptable. I expect healthcare providers to show basic respect and professionalism, not talk behind patients' backs and then go silent when caught. read more

The first time I came here was about 6 years ago as a first time parent who didn't know anything about hand foot mouth disease. Then fast forward to recently when I took my daughter here back in October since we were in the middle of insurance changes. They accept HPSM Medi-cal and it was easy to set everything up online. I set up an appointment online and put all my info for easy to check in. We went here in the morning so we were able to get the parking in front. Right when I walked in and told them I had an appointment they directed me to the parking lot area where they set up to see patients there. The staff was great. My daughter was quickly seen. Again we came here in the morning so it might be different at night or during the weekend. Thankfully the times we've been here, things weren't that serious but as a parent, it really is about having the peace of mind. read more

Simply amazing . We came in on a rainy Fall Sunday night just around 6pm. A breath of fresh air - with sweet and supportive medical personnel and doctor through every step of the way , including check in , which was all online and even let us know our place in line ! As a protective /advocating type parent , I even felt validated by the doctor ,who I truly felt took the time to address things in a clear and concise manner while not feeling rushed or gaslit. It's never fun to be sick as a child , and my son even said he was "a fan ." They were punctual , did appropriate tests in a caring manner , and compassionate . They even let him keep the lights off for my son's exam and let him use an extra high quality fleece blanket so he could sleep in peace as we waited . Top notch doctor ! Little prizes at the end are never anything I've seen in an urgent care , and really helped brighten his day . Thank you so much for taking great care of my son. This was the first time in my life I'd ever been slut-shamed by a doctor. I was so disheartened. I visited here in an emergency (it was the only urgent care open in the area and I was experiencing a great deal of pain.) I suspected I had a UTI, but it turned out to be a yeast infection. Like many women in my family, I have a history of yeast infections and UTI's, regardless of personal care and precautions. I suppose it is just our anatomy. The doctor that saw me seemed to be impatient and rude to me-- she was upset that my urine sample was clear. Every time I would ask her a question, she would give me a smart or snarky answer in response. From the moment I told her I was sexually active, her entire demeanor changed. She suggested I had a sexually transmitted disease (I don't), my boyfriend had been unfaithful to me, or that there was no medical explanation for my pain (it was all in my head.) How unprofessional. In the past when I go to my doctor, as a PRECAUTION, he will prescribe me an oral antibiotic for a yeast infection. It is one simple pill and done. Instead, she refused to prescribe me an oral pill and she told me to buy an over the counter pill that is vaginally inserted. It felt more like a dehumanizing and humiliating experience to have to insert a cold, foreign object into my vagina. It hurt. It burned and irritated me for days. It caused me to have bleeding, burning, and excessive discharge. It hurts me to know this doctor was aware of this and refused to prescribe me a simple oral pill. I feel as though some doctors want to punish you for inconveniencing their day. She was certainly one of those doctors. To her, it may have seemed like a useless visit (I thought I had a UTI, but I didn't.) But to me, it was an emergency. I was about to go onto 22hr+ international flights and have no health insurance on a different continent while an active yeast infection was growing inside of me. I simply wanted to know if I was okay. I didn't want to be scolded on abstinence and have an older woman tell me I'm being cheated on by my partner of 4 years. I have never had an STD. I have always been with one man for 4 years of my life. I just wish she'd had more empathy. She could have simply prescribed me an oral antibiotic for a yeast infection. She could have swabbed me and sent that for lab testing. Instead, she yapped on and on about how lab testing is too inconvenient and sent me on my merry way with the diagnosis of "vaginitis." Seriously? Inflammation? I hope and pray her daughter may never be treated this way by a medical "professional." read more

What's changed is that they now take appointments, so make an appointment, if you can, it will save you some waiting time. That said, there is typically only one doctor on staff, so it is almost guaranteed that you will have some type of wait. Still, when you need it, you need it. Made a phone call for an appointment and was told that walk-ins were available with no waiting time. We arrived and checked in, only to be informed that there was a 30-40 minute wait. After waiting for about an hour, we were finally roomed but then told that patients with appointments would be seen first. It would have been fine if they had initially said that no walk-ins were available, but instead, they responded without taking any responsibility and let patients wait and wait. I was referred to this place by my daughter's physician office. They were very attentive from the beginning, got us in very quickly and were seen by the nurse and doctor within 10-15 minutes. Definitely recommend this place for after hours when the pediatricians office is close. They have an option to reserve a time slot on their website as well, which is always a great option to have. read more

I'm furious with the service we received. I have no doubt the physicians here are caring and dedicated professionals, however the front office staff seriously mishandled our payment. We came for Covid tests, which they did administer. As far as I knew, we had provided payment at the time of service. Nearly 1 year later, I received a notice from a debt collector seeking payment. This was the first time I had learned that a balance was due. There was no attempt to communicate with us about the balance beforehand. I immediately provided payment upon notice, but now my credit has been impacted and I have needlessly paid additional fees. She made my daughter feel very comfortable and made the visit interactive and she wasn't crying (my daughter) and she made the visit fun and quick. This review is for the COVID shut only. It was quick easy and relativity painless. For me as I wasn't there over getting the shot. It was a better experience turn when I got mine many months ago. In and out in 20 minutes and only because you need to wait 15 min after the shot. As for their regular clinic. It's ok. I would say it's 3 stars. I tried to walk-in to get an appointment for my son this evening after I couldn't make an appointment online. Their website said walk-ins were welcome and that there were currently 4 people waiting. So, I drove down there only to have them tell me they weren't accepting any more walk-ins. They offered to tell me the nearest ER or schedule an appointment for 5 pm the next day. If your website could inform people that you weren't taking walk-ins for the evening, that would have been helpful and saved me a trip. What a waste of time! read more

What an absolute life saver (literally) this organization is. All the doctors and staff are top notch. It really is a group of the best pediatricians in the Bay Area... I prefer this practice to my son's regular Dr. I've interacted with both Dr. Kniveton and Dr. Stuart. Even thought we have great insurance, it's so hard getting ahold of anyone at my son's PCP after hours. We saw Dr. Stuart several times when our toddler was younger. We just had a horrendous weekend with our toddler coming down with HFMD and our 5 month old struggling to breathe with croup. I was able to get through to Dr. Kniveton late on a Saturday even though they were closed. She was calm, cool and collected and helped us determine if an ED visit was appropriate. She followed up with us several times after via text. Totally above and beyond. Thank you!!! read more

Gotta say, I'm so very disappointed in this place. Short story is that I was told I wouldn't be charged then was charged a month after the visit for 200 dollars. No receipt, no letter, nothing to say what that was for or why I was charged. Long story... I was obligated to get my daughter a covid test and get her results asap. Found this place that accepted her insurance and provided rapid results. We drove 30 min to get there. Upon arrival was told they might not actually accept my daughter's health insurance. Even though I specifically looked into this before the drive, they told me they'd still test my daughter. Which I thought was very kind. I was specifically informed that it was covered and that the 50 dollars for the rapid test was waved because of the type of insurance we have. I was very thankful, got the test and was relieved it was negative. Fast forward a month later and not only did they charge me the 50, but a whole month later an additional 150 was taken!!! I got zero notice or heads up that I was being charged. So fun not having enough for bills because of this. Tried calling today and was told billing had to handle the situation and that they were closed. I will be calling tomorrow morning and if taken care of I will update my review. But for now I'm livid. I've never had anyone blindly charge me like this before. I feel like I've been robbed and I will not stand for it. read more

This is my favorite urgent care facility for my kids. You may notice the 4 stars, but each star is earned. (1 star)Professionalism - staff members from the receptionist, nurses and doctors are amazing! They are definitely knowledgeable and thorough about a check up. (3 stars)Kid-friendly/Customer Service - after my son's visit, doctors offered him over the counter medicines so I did not need to make an extra trip with my sick son to Walgreens. I was able to give my son the proper meds needed and take him home to rest. I was able to have family pick up his medicine. - Staff were able to accommodate my son by giving him a pedialyte freezer pop to sooth his sore throat. This facility deserves the proper recognition, because I arrived right before the 9pm and it closes at 10pm. The service was amazing. I know its dragging when its towards the end of the shift and boom another patient arrives after a long day. It's great to see people not showing their tiredness and irritability after a long day. I can say, that we felt comfortable here and that's everything for me and kids. Great job!! (-1 star) for cleanliness- I hate when son lays on the floor especially at the hospital. But when he did I noticed a drop of blood still on the floor. I wiped it up of course then went back to tend to my son. read more

It's hard to find pediatric urgent cares in the Bay Area these days and I was really hopeful that this would be a good one! We didn't have much of a wait, which was great. The experience with the staff was overall fine. In terms of billing, we have had some issues and the office has been really unhelpful in resolving them. Basically, they billed the Flu A and Flu B tests in a way that made it look to my insurance that they performed the same test twice so one of them didn't get covered. The office has refused to re-submit the claim with modifiers that would differentiate the two tests and overall has just been really unhelpful and standoffish to both myself and to my insurance when we have called to try and figure out how to fix the issue. read more

Overall, it's a very bad experience. My 2-year old son had a fever since Friday night and got worse on Sunday with a little cough, after some basic Mortrin medication at home. Since we just relocated to the area, we don't have a primary doctor picked yet, so we went to this urgent care. Since my son had a fever, we called beforehand to make sure we followed the procedure correctly. I was told to fill out all the tedious new patient forms online ahead of time and I did. But when we arrived, I was told their electric system was down and I had to fill out all the forms again. Fine. This was not a big deal and was understandable. It happens, but maybe it was not a good sign already. After a LONG waiting time in car, we finally saw a doctor. Dr. Steward checked my son's throat. It was red. I was concerned if he got ear infection as well since he was always pulling his ears. Dr Steward checked his ears and there was a lot wax that she couldn't see anything. And that's it, she didn't do anything about the ears and the red throat. The only thing she did was a Covid testing and sent us back. Two days later, we got the results back. It was negative. But the fever persisted and coughs got worse, so we went back to this urgent care and had him checked again. This time, thank God, it was another doctor. She was patient, nice and tested thoroughly. She cleaned up his ear wax and checked both his ears and throat. And it turned out my son got strep throat, which need antibiotics! This medication could have come in place on Sunday, the first time when Dr. Steward checked, instead of Wednesday! Dr. Steward did call me afterward, but instead of apologizing for her negligence, she bacially said it was not that bad when she saw it and it happened. Her tone was not the most pleasant, and was kind of rude. My son took the antibiotics for five days and I had him checked again, at this place, and it was Dr. Steward again. She ordered X Ray (btw, they don't have X Ray capacity in-house, you have to drive up to Mills peninsula medical center to do it), the way she gave instructions was not friendly. X Ray showed no pneumonia, today is Monday, and I was told by Dr. Steward to wait another day to determine if he need additional antibiotics. She drove all these conversations in a weird tone, and all these symptoms could have been alleviated from the very beginning. My son has been sick for 10 days, and will stay at home sick, for probably another week. I am very unsatisfied with the experience here. Before the appointment with our primary doctor, I will change to another urgent care, which provides higher sense of responsibility, more pleasant conversation and guidance, and full capacity of equipment! read more

Preparing to return to school is no joke! We needed a rapid test for COVID - after hours is fantastic! We didn't even need to leave the car. When they say rapid, they mean it. We hadn't even pulled into our driveway when we received a call with test results. An hour later, we received the results via email. Took my 15 year old yesterday and was in the same room that she was in when she first visited the place 13 or 14 years (?) ago. This place has been a great option for those late evening doctor visits over the years for both my kids. Have seen many doctors, nurses and front office staff at this place and always had a positive experience. This place is wonderful. Having two kids during a pandemic is terrifying, and every fever and sickness feels like it might be Covid. Even though we live in the Bay Area/Silicon Valley we are literally unable to find Covid tests for our kids when they get fevers. Obviously we always want to rule that out, but where can go get your child tested when they start to get a fever at 5pm? After hours pediatrics! They are super helpful and very informed on Covid symptoms, spreading and general Covid information. Not only will they administer a quick Covid test on your kiddo, but they also check throat, eyes and ears, the usual do it or stuff your pediatrician would do if they were open! Our last trip to the after hours clinic was with my kiddo who had a big fever and looked pretty sick. We arrived when they opened at 5pm and were driving home by 5:25! The doctor checked his throat, saw some redness, took a strep test (gave him some Motrin) and within 20 minutes called us and did he was Covid negative but strep positive. Then she even called in a prescription to our pharmacy! Seriously what would we have done without this place? Spent 3 hours at an emergency room waiting to see a doctor? I just cancelled my covid testing here after a weird call with the receptionist. It's strange to see positive review about the receptionist here. My first call was hanged up abruptly. My second call went through and I just felt like questions were not welcomed there. I was confused about how to pay out-of-pocket with a drive-through testing, and I had to ask multiple times to get a simple answer. Same thing when I asked about lab result. read more

Thank you, AHP for stepping up during this pandemic...my kids and I came in to be tested several times for COVID and each experience was slightly different (as we came early on, later on, and towards the end of 2020) as you refined your processes from sitting in the front, or being at our parked car in the parking lot, to driving down into the garage. Every time was organized, professional, and timely. The doctors and nurses were kind, friendly and explained the collection process clearly. One of my daughters received both of her Pfizer vaccines at AHP and it went much smoother than the locations my other kids went to, and I appreciated being with less people around. Heaven forbid we have another pandemic, but if it should happen, we will definitely book all of our testing and vaccine shots at AHP. Outside of the COVID frenzy, we have come here when random things have happened to the kids (fevers, rashes, sprains, cuts, etc.), when their doctor's office has closed for the day or weekend (go figure, right?). Every time we felt cared for, listened to, and patched up. Despite never having the same doctor each time, we experienced the same level of excellent service. It sure beats a trip to the ER!!!! They also follow up with me a day or two later and also with their doctor who calls me to confirm and check on the kid(s) too. If i have to make one constructive criticism...it's that the front door is hard to open cuz it sticks! But that's not enough to keep us from coming here. read more

Unless they can verify your insurance (systems were down the day I took my child in) or you pay $199 upfront and give a credit card on file, they won't see your sick child. Payment is more important than your sick child. Before I even started the paperwork, they asked for my insurance and a credit card. Since I have great insurance, I only provided that. I do not have a co pay and prefer not to give a credit card before anything is done. After the paperwork (which I signed and agreed to pay for anything not covered by insurance) they said they could not verify my insurance and I needed to pay $199. Never once did anyone ask about my child only for payment. I left and went across the street to Sutter Heath Urgent Care. They let me know the systems were down but they would still see us right away. I just had to sign a form saying I was responsible to the bills (if insurance did not cover) read more
