Went on a Thursday during the holiday week between Christmas and New Year's. It wasn't that busy…read morewhich was great and we picked a 4-5:30pm slot hoping to catch sun down being nestled in the mountains. Thankfully it was warmish for this time of year as I was afraid being in the mountains we would be freezing. It is $5 to get in to park your car which is totally fine. Not only do you have access to the ice-skating rink area but you can also hike locally and explore the surroundings. You were literally inside of a mountain range so if you like walking and exploring it is all there for you. Gorgeous area! It is $5 to enter the ice skating area and $10 to rent the skates. I feel that is reasonable getting an hour and a half worth of time and not feeling over powered by a crowd... I was definitely digging it. I have not been ice-skating for at least 10 years. The last time was at Chelsea Piers in New York City which was a totally different vibe. I enjoyed myself I can see returning throughout the winter. Everyone we dealt with from when we initially entered the park to helping us with the purchase of tickets and assisting with the rentals were pleasant. I'm guessing local college students. There were several employees on the ice as well and I saw them helping out when kids and adults were falling. They weren't extra but they weren't unpleasant so happy to have them there to help us. Glad I tried out this place and looking forward to future memories here.

I use to love skating as a kid, but it is definitely hard to find skate places that don't make you feel dirty walking in. This place is it, it's still retro, well maintained with polite efficient staff both on and off the rink. They have a cute little toddler corner for them to skate their little hearts out. Respectful skaters and patient by standards the few time I busted my behind. They have skate crutches for 5 bucks. It's worth it. I refuse to not support my child ( 5, 4 and 20 month old) while they are skating for the first time, nor will I allow my children to sit and cry in public without support. When I picked up my 20 month old during an intense emotional episode, I was not skating. I had just exited the rink and was returning to the bench. I clearly stated this and indicated I had literally picked her up 6 seconds, barley getting her to my chest before he barreled around the corner to approached, make several abrupt remarks, and left without any attempt at respectful or professional/personable communication. This place has been garbage for over 7 years!!! I would not recommend this establishment in Hadley Massachusetts. We are a family of five (two adults, two children ages 2-5, and a 1.5-year-old). We rented two pairs of skates at a cost exceeding $70. During our visit, staff repeatedly confronted us in a manner that felt unnecessarily confrontational and lacked professionalism. I was first approached for holding my 1.5-year-old while skating, which I understand may be against policy; however, this was my first time skating with young children, and the interaction was handled poorly. On another occasion, my fiancé attempted to cross the center line briefly to assist me while I was managing both a toddler and a young child. There were no skaters nearby at the time, yet he was again confronted by the same employee. In the carpeted area, I picked up my crying child, and within seconds was approached and instructed to put her down because I was wearing skates. The delivery of these instructions was abrupt and lacked any empathy or discretion. Additionally, the skates provided for my child were visibly worn and in poor condition. The Velcro no longer functioned properly, a concern that was verbally acknowledged by a staff member while adjusting them. Despite advertising as a family-friendly venue, our experience did not reflect that claim. This facility may be more suitable for experienced skaters rather than families with young children. We were offered free lessons for the kids and still, we denied them for lack of empathy and confrontational approach. Owner tries to argue every negative review. Your place is old, your skates are unsafe and your staff is unbearably disrespectful to parents, and according to reviews, your summer camp kids hate it too. Although a direct conversation, while you were in the facility, would be more productive and helpful, we always appreciate feedback. It is unfortunate that you found simple instruction, on serious safety concern, "abrupt." The risk of falling or dropping a child from four or five feet in the air, while you are on skates, is never taken lightly. The fact you had to be reminded multiple times demonstrates your lack of understanding. I encountered you only once directly, for all of 30 seconds, and you were flippant and arogant, arguing about holding your child while you were on skates. Safety should never be taken lightly. The rest of your commentary is inflamatory and unwaranted. And yes, $70 for five admissions and two rentals is accurate. I challenge you to find a better value for an afternoon with the family. Our offer of free skating lessons was genuine and an attempt to give your family a chance to further enjoy skating. I'm not sure what your reference is to summer camp; We have none. Or someone like me that was a bit rusty can feel comfortable going around the rink at their own pace. I didn't go to snack bar- I was too focused on skating. I will tell you to size down one size if you rent skates as they do run big. My one complaint is they don't resurface the ice as frequently as the ice rink I've visited in NY. The staff was very kind and shared excitement with me that my daughter's birthday was approaching in a few weeks. This can definitely become a regular family adventure despite it being about 20 miles from home. And it's affordable!

The LearnToSkate program is from 9:15-11:15, which overlaps with Adult Skate from 10:00-11:15. Peter tried to make me to pay twice for the Adult Skate program even though I was already enrolled in a program that included that session. He loudly accused me in front of the entire rink multiple times for not registering, even though I had. Then, when I asked a clarification question about skating policy, he laughed at me and was extremely condescending. I felt like I was being targeted because I was a minority there. During my experience with him, instead of being patient and understanding, he was confrontational and extremely unprofessional, purposefully trying to publicly humiliate those unfamiliar with rink policies. I am very disappointed about my experience and hope I never have a run-in like that again. The rest of the staff is great, however, and helped resolve the issue right away.
