I have lived at my house in Bettendorf for 7 years this month. Today, we had our 7th "animal…read morecontact" with our power line which caused a power outage. Two of these have happened in the last two months (one in November, one today, in December). Each time this happens, an animal (squirrels I believe) are being electrocuted and we don't have power for multiple hours. I have called them multiple times each time this happens. They have done nothing about it. We were told an animal control device would be put in after the last time, but that hasn't happened and now it has electrocuted another animal for a preventable problem that they haven't taken care of. They have also never issued us a bill credit for the hours with no power, no heat, no ability to continue using our washer, dryer, stove, microwave, garage door, air conditioning, etc. I had to call my husband to be prepared to come get the kids from school if I couldn't get out of the garage in time. They just keep saying they'll install a device and they don't and they continue allowing the same preventable problem to electrocute animals on the power line and pay to install new fuses and service calls to fix the issue instead of using the service call to install the device to stop the problem.

Also had the three day wait problem to get initial services connected, nobody cares they will leave…read moreyou in winter temperatures without regard. They will turn your service off without warning. They will do nothing to work with you, customer service assumes you are garbage, they will give you the run around until you give up. So disappointed there are no options, this company is criminal.

Stuck with getting power. I used to have close to a 700 credit score and now it has tanked since I…read morelost my job and I am trying just to get by. I had to go into Mc Donough Co-op to sign up for power today just to find out that it was mandatory that I give them $400 for a deposit. The apartment I was trying to rent is very small and the average electric cost was around $65 a month, so to get around 7 months of electric service without getting anything right now is outrageous. I have to pay back bills and child support without a co-op piling on top of me. I am a 20 year military veteran and I served my country and I have fallen on hard times and this is what I get, cause my credit score isn't perfect is just not right. I bet everyone who works for the co-op doesn't have a perfect credit score. Why not take a human aspect to it and see what they can do to help you instead of piling on. I appreciate you taking food out of my daughters mouth just so you can feed your pockets. ridiculous if you ask me. I suppose if this was the winter months I couldn't of gotten power until the deposit had to be meet. There are real people involved.
