I told him why I needed to rearrange the electrical system in my house. The purpose for the indoor work was to hook-up a power generator and getting it up and running outside. He didn't tell me in advance what accessories I'd need to buy. I was charged for his time waiting for me to get the items. It was very frustrating because the stores didn't have what I needed and I had to drive all over town searching for it. I would not recommend doing business with them without first getting a written statement for all the work they plan to do and all of their charges in advance. Also, one of their workers spilled gasoline all over and I had to pay twice to fill my generator. He charged me almost $2,000 when his estimate was for only $1,000. He acted like hooking up a generator is not his job as an electrician, yet a handyman would not have known what to do because this required specialized knowledge, something only a licensed electrician would be qualified to know and do the job correctly and safely.

He helped me understand the system that is newer to me and more complicated than I've had in the past. James was very detailed, thoughtful, and patient with addressing all of my questions. I feel like I really understand the systems better now and am more confident on how it works and what I might need to address in terms of maintenance getting the most out of it. James was able to get my system up and running and tested so that everything was working and functioning properly. I'm grateful for his attention to detail, cheerful attitude and professionalism. It finally turned into an iceberg in mid-November during the cold snap (reversing valve sensor inop). It took a couple visits to diagnose, acquire parts, and fix all the issues, and Doug's team kept us updated on progress throughout. However, the best part was when James asked if the unit was still under warranty. We checked and it was, with only two weeks remaining on the covered period! So all the parts were covered and the work was completed before the deadline. Considering how much time they spent I was very pleased with the final bill.
