BEWARE OF INCOMPETENT & RIPPING OFF COMPANY. Early Fall of 2013, we switched our Air Conditioning system (which was working fine) to Heating but it did not work. So my husband just picked out this company listed on the Yellow Page for repair. There came 4 men, elder Dan who is also the owner was followed by other 3 service men. I thought to myself: do they need all these people to do a repair?. The men came in, checked the thermostat, and said that the circuit breaker is down, but they would not touch anything electrical, and we will have to call an Electrician to fix the Circuit Breaker, before they (TW &Co.) can do anything. They spent about 20 minutes in the house and left after telling us so. We immediately called a certified Electrician, who came and fixed the problem. The call for the Electrician and the repair has cost us $130. The next day TW & Co came back, had a look at the machine, which was working fine, Dan the Owner said it was the electrical issue, now the machine is working fine, and left a bill of $437. I was amazed at the unusually high bill, and although I understood that every time that you call a Technician of any kind for home services, you have to pay for the call (usually $50 to 90) plus the hourly fee for the time they spent repairing, plus parts. The time TW & Co. spent in my home was less than 1 hour for twice that they came, and they practically did not do anything, but open and closed the Circuit breaker box. My husband did not want to argue and paid for the requested bill. I was angry and frustrated, feeling ripped off by the soft speaking elder owner Dan, I was not sure how these things work with contractors although I had had a few experiences and knowing that you have to pay for the call + the hourly fee, but my God $437 for less than 1 hour of service? Today, Jan 14 2014, we had the same problem with our heating and Circuit Breaker. We called another company, Thompson Mechanical Heating Sales & Services. On the phone the secretary told us in advance that their hourly fee is $89. A man came and fixed the problem, spent about 1 hour including going to buy a spare part. The total bill is $139. At this point, I know for sure that we have been RIPPED OFF by this man DAN WALL of the TW & Co, located in Black Mountain, that he made us paid 4 times as much, plus we had to call an electrician to do the work. I really think, people should review local home services company. Who does not need an electrician, a plumber, Heating & air conditioning people, sometimes ....every time it is BIG MONEY, rather than spending $50 at the restaurant, here we spend hundreds of dollars, and we want good and honest services, and we should let our neighbors know which companies we can rely on. read more

Our heat started not working then would not cut off get hot and wires blackened at back of heater coils . We have two kids so went ask for help from ministry . Tw was told give quote we asked twice instead insisted on fix it and did . Again we ask quote so they get paid . Said no it ok my dad take care of it . He was asked three times and told that was routine for Christian ministry still ignore it . We said thank you. Next he texting us two hours later saying they didn't know nothing about it was our fault we follow routine. Just being rude. The intake worker did not tell director why would he we were supposed get a quote then bring it up there to director attention where she get check ready for him come fix it we follow routine he did not blame us was not right. I used Dan twice. Once was a simple swap from a forced air oil furnace to a gas furnace in a house in Swannanoa (Grovemont). The second was a more complex swap from a wall furnace to a heat pump/gas furnace force air system in a house off Fariview rd in Asheville. I had one small problem with the Swannanoa install and Dan was there the same day. The Asheville one was perfect. With both he came in on time and for the price quoted. His staff was perfessional and I was very pleased. His prices were better than most and I would use him again. read more
