We were advised to think ahead and pay for upgraded seats. This is completely out of line. We didn't want fancy or upgraded seats, rather just to have our children sitting in the vicinity of an adult or even older sibling. The TSA people were rude and man handled my elderly mother for a search and pat down even after she told them that she had an artificial hip and two artificial knees that would set the machine off. Absolutely, worst flight experience I have ever had, and this is coming off of multiple trips overseas and across the country. Will never fly through the Grand Island airport or with Allegiant again!

We live in north central Kansas, so to fly to Vegas from our house is a 2.5 hr drive to the airport in Grand Island, NE. For a family of 5, our flights were canceled the Friday night before our scheduled Sunday trip. The closest Allegiant flights that worked with our planned trip/ hotel reservations and time off work was to fly out of OKC (4.5 hours away.) I understand with Covid issues there have been delays and cancellations -- and I can live with dealing with some bumps along the way. BUT after driving 4.5 hours, our flight was delayed almost 3.5 hours, by the time we got to Vegas and got our luggage our hotel had canceled our reservations. They did give us one $100 refund for the original flight cancellation but that doesn't even cover the cost of fuel to get to OKC, or the cost of a hotel when our return flight was also delayed and we had to drive until 5:30am to get home again. I tried to go online 23 hours before our scheduled flight home to change two of our bags from carry on to checked. The site was down, I spent over an hour and a half on hold trying to get thru so we could avoid the extra fees at the airport for the change. I was not able to get through and then disconnected. I emailed Allegiant (the night before we left Vegas) explaining that their site was down and I'd like reimbursed for the difference in baggage fees since I wasn't able to do it the cheaper way online. I have not heard back, nor heard back from the survey I sent. It's been a few weeks now. I am not usually a complainer-- we travel often and I understand things happen. We have flown Allegiant at least 12 times in the last 8 or so years. I just wish someone had responded to the email I sent their help desk or responded to the survey. For as much as it costs to fly a family of 5 anywhere+ luggage+ other fees I feel that they could've been much more accommodating.

Jim later came to the rescue with a plan to drop the car off in Omaha, when American Airlines couldn't see their way clear to taking off from Grand Island. Our trip was a success and we owe Jim a debt of gratitude for both the way he does business and his Nebraska values and principles that were shining through in the most positive fashion.

The front lobby is inviting but basic. We didn't do breakfast but it was available until 930. I was up working until 430 in the room though. Rooms are clean and well kept. Pillows and mattress are comfortable, which to me is important. I slept very well. The nightstands each had outlets. There was a nice place to lay suitcases. The desk and chair were comfortable and fully functional. The TV worked well. There is a fridge and coffee maker. The closet is behind a full length mirror which was cool and a secret type door. The bathroom had a nice vanity and the shower was a good size. Not the kind where the shower curtain sticks to you. This is a good spot for a reasonable rate in Grand Island, Nebraska if you're passing through!!!

This airport is very small and I believe they only have two gates. They only have a couple of flights come in and out every day, so in reality the airport is never too busy. Crossing TSA is very simple and you might be the only person in line. After reaching the gate section, they do have a small food area that also serves as souvenir store. They have a full kitchen were you can order a hot meal, or also have a couple snack items you can take to-go. One thing I did notice during my last trip is that they had renovated the restrooms and they were great for such a small airport. Overall a good experience and probably your best option if you are traveling to any of the smaller cities listed above.

However, there are several aspects that could be improved: 1. The towels are kinda grayish with dirt, some even lightly stained; even if it is just to "look" cleaner", I recommend that the towels be bleached for future customers. 2. The air conditioner not only was weak, but it smelled faintly of marijuana, which I didn't realize until I came back from an errand. Since I happened to have a bottle of Febreze, I washed the air filter and sprayed some on (which got rid of the smell), since I already unpacked all my belongings and work equipment, and I didn't feel like moving to another room. 3. Bookkeeping could stand to be improved; I was initially told I would be in town for 2 days and booked accordingly through Expedia, but then my work needed a few more things done so I paid cash to extend it. However, they not only still showed that I was due to check out on the 2nd day and knocked on a day where I worked a fairly late shift, I was told that I still owed $200 until I showed the clerk my booking records and receipt. 4. Nonetheless, the "random" selection is anything but that. During the last inspection, the outer pocket was ripped and taped back shut with TSA tape only after the contents were removed. I now have a bag that I can't use (the high miles means, yes, that I leave in a day with no working bag), I have missing materials, and I can't ge a hold of anyone at GRI in order to speak with the agents. Two bit operation and staff. Do not check your baggage and watch them like a hawk.
