Just one town over you'll find Ken's Motel, in the quaint little town of Aurora. It's a perfectly acceptable budget motel. Dated it may be, but in this girls opinion "dated" is not a bad word. I like blast-from-the-past places like these & I wish they'd preserve more of them as well as they have this one. Friendly staff, clean & comfortable. There's even a full sized fridge. Close to Mc Donald's, Pizza & gas. We also saw a sign for Arby's on the other side of the interstate. Parking may be tricky if you're hauling a trailer in the snow, as we are, but it's doable. We just had to circle the property and come through one of the back entrances. Otherwise, you'll be able to park right in front of your room. It seems to me Aurora would be a nice stop for the family in the summer months, as well. In different circumstances, we would've loved to tour one of their Museums. The Science center looks like a good time for families & the Plainsman Museum is right up my alley w/a "journey through yesterday". We also noticed a community pool w/water slides driving into town. Snowbound or summer fun...Kens motel will do the trick if you're looking for an affordable option while you check out all that Aurora has to offer.

The front lobby is inviting but basic. We didn't do breakfast but it was available until 930. I was up working until 430 in the room though. Rooms are clean and well kept. Pillows and mattress are comfortable, which to me is important. I slept very well. The nightstands each had outlets. There was a nice place to lay suitcases. The desk and chair were comfortable and fully functional. The TV worked well. There is a fridge and coffee maker. The closet is behind a full length mirror which was cool and a secret type door. The bathroom had a nice vanity and the shower was a good size. Not the kind where the shower curtain sticks to you. This is a good spot for a reasonable rate in Grand Island, Nebraska if you're passing through!!!

Soundproofing wasn't great either - our room faced the interstate exit and I was hearing semis on and off the entire night. The Applebee's within the hotel is nice if you are wanting to stay in for the night. There are other hotel options in York and I will likely be booking elsewhere when I am back for the same tournament next year.

Situated on the main street of Ravenna, the Inn is just a minute away from the few local bars and restaurants. Again, nothing fancy, but good food and great drinks. Inn owner Jerry is the nicest person you'll ever meet. He drove me around town in his car, showing the town's sites and introducing me to various local people and businesses.
