Robert, With due respect, it hasn't been three years, the quote was given in April 2023. The work didn't begin until August/September 2023. As for the performance of the driveway/sidewalk, it isn't in excellent condition. For example, There are soft spots where water lingers after a rain and where the gutter drain goes under the side walk. Lastly, I asked both you and Dave to stay off my property. American Asphalt Paving did a spectacular job on our 450 foot driveway! Every detail from grade to edging was considered and done perfectly. They followed the original blueprint of the paving design and consulted with us as needed. The final product was really a work of art. They even took time to bury a PVC pipe under the pavement for us for possible future electrical runs. This company is not only very competent in their craft, but a real pleasure to work with from a sales and administrative perspective from David in sales who first gave us our quote, to Pat in the office and Robert the owner. We highly endorse this company. My only regret is not having another home which needs a new driveway so I could hire them again! read more

I got an estimate from American Asphalt paving, the sales person was so rude and just kept pressuring me to go with the higher price and was the most expensive than all the other quotes I got. He wasn't very professional because he just scribbled a price down on the back of a piece of paper after I asked him for something in writing and didn't even include what I was getting for the price. Most importantly the estimator said they have NO GUARANTY on their work! read more

They do what they say they will do when they say they say they will do it. They went above and way beyond on the price because they thought the entire driveway needed done. They came at 7: 30 am and they new drive was completed by 3:45 pm the same day; that included completely removing the old asphalt and laying a new base. They are pleasant to work with and very professional. Clean up was complete and immaculate. I can't say enough good things about these guys! read more

They were very responsive and quick to come out to give a quote. Price was great for a single lane driveway and I gave them a deposit in late May. I was told the job would get done in the next two weeks. I waited for the call the night before to let me know when they would show up but it didn't come. I had to call multiple times and I was continually told it would happen next week. After about four months I sent a letter to the office requesting the deposit be returned because the job had not been done yet. I received a call on a Monday after they read the letter, saying they want to make every customer happy and could get the job done on Friday. I agreed but yet again they didn't show. As of November 10, 2015 I called again for them to return the deposit because the job wasn't done. They agreed to return the deposit but it's December 14, 2015 and the deposit hasn't been returned yet. Maybe if you have a larger job they'll care to get it done in a timely manner. Did an amazing job in just one day on my driveway -- Live in NH and the original paved drive was pretty much a mess with lots of larger rocks pushing their way up and a lot of cracks not to mention it was tapered at the road for only one car to enter but there is a 2 car garage. Their quote was very competitive and they were neat and did a great job. Very responsive to making changes to the existing drive -- it is now straight and they removed a good 8" of soil under the existing pavement (the original builder obviously had no interest in a long lasting driveway and paved without proper base). They also removed many loads of larger stones then put on 8" of gravel, compacted it, then two layers of asphalt -- tamped the edges at a 45 and did a saw cut at the road! GREAT COMPANY! read more

We contracted with American Asphalt almost a year ago to have our driveway replaced. However, due to having a new walkway built, which was delayed by several months, and having a large tree removed near the garage, Dave in sales advised us to wait until all that work was completed before having the new driveway installed. Great advice, as the heavy equipment involved in those projects further damaged our battered driveway. Our new driveway work was finally completed this week, and we couldn't be happier with the results...it was definitely worth the wait. Robert, the owner, appeared with an efficient crew who worked their equipment with ease to install a handsome driveway. It is raining today and we are watching the water run away from the garage as was planned to correct the problems we had in the past. We would highly recommend this company to friends, in fact two neighbors immediately contracted with AAP to have their own driveways done. read more

I feel it's important to start off this review by making it clear that American Asphalt Paving did not actually perform any work for me. Their actual service and skill may be top notch, but I was unable to find out. I called in to discuss some prospective residential paving work I wanted done. The customer service rep on the phone assured me it wasn't a problem. She took down my contact info and told me an estimator would call me back to set up an appointment. After not hearing from them for 2 days I called back in to be sure they had my info. The rep said that it was not unusual for them to take several days to call back, so I just had to wait. No problem. After waiting a week without getting a call, I dialed back in. I explained to the rep I never received a call back. She took down all of my information again and told me she'd re-forward it to her estimating department. I waited another week with no call. Of course at this point, there is no way I'm going to utilize their services. If I can't even get a call back for prospective business, then how could I trust their actual work? That said, I was annoyed, so I called back in. I again explained the situation to a customer service rep who told me all she could do was forward my info to the estimates department, even though it had been weeks without contact. I asked if she could forward me directly to the department so I could explain; she told me no, she could not. I then asked to speak with her supervisor. After a relatively short wait, a very apologetic gentleman got on the phone and assured me he'd handle this. He said he'd escalate this to the other department and I'd get a call back very shortly. He took down all of my info (for the 3rd time now). It is exactly 1 week since that call, again, no one has contacted me. As the company seems to be in the business of wasting time, I would think twice about enlisting their services. read more

Horrible customer service! I called in the fall to setup an estimate twice and no one returned my calls. The third time I called they apologized and said they would send someone out to our house. No one ever showed up, so I called again. By the time I got through to "Dave" he said it it was too late in the season and to call back in the spring. Well it's spring now and I called back, and "Dave" told me that they couldn't get out to our area.... Well they just lost a potential client and I will not be recommending this service to anyone. read more
