My son adopted from a different organization because they had the puppy he and his partner wanted . I have read reviews in the negative about not having all information on the dogs health. My son's puppy came from a foster home that let him eat things he should not have and it was horrible, they were also not told that the dog suffered from Parvo and a heart condition....These organizations do the best they can with the information they have, especially when animals are taken off the streets...

The employees here were just so amazing, helpful, and nice! I stopped by 4 times in the process of adopting my lovely dog and everyone I encountered there was really friendly and respectful. We had to fill out a couple pages of forms and wait a little while for them to process our information and all of that. We got such a sweet 2 year old black lab/mix from them and I am so grateful.

The volunteers were so helpful and nice. We went in looking for a puppy but walked out with an 85 pound lab mix...HE IS BEAUTIFUL!! I am so glad that we stopped by! When we adopted then Rusty/now Brady, he was eating Blue Buffalo food...definitely not the cheapest, but such a wonderful product. I was amazed to see all natural food fed at a shelter, apparently the owner of Blue Buffalo lives close by and donates all their food...AMAZING! We are constantly getting compliments on his coat from groomers who ask what we feed him...apparently it's that good. I highly recommend this shelter. Be prepared for a lot of questioning, they are pretty thorough with their screening process but I guess it's to ensure that the dog isn't sent from one house to another.

First of all, it was presumptuous to claim that I may have children in the future. The application just asked if there were kids in the household. He never asked if I was planning for kids in the future. He made an assumption based off my age. Not everyone wants or can have kids. That is clearly discrimination. Second, any poodle lover knows that trying to keep a standard poodle "under control" is like suppressing their personality. Standard poodles are playful and excited. They need to be properly stimulated and exercised. So, how exactly would "older adults" keep this vibrant poodle "under control?" Would this be different than a young, energetic family? Daryl has plenty of troubling misconceptions. I have some serious concerns about this organization. They could have just sent a generic email to say that I wasn't a good fit, instead Daryl made the conscious decision to point out discriminatory assumptions he had about me. Daryl's comments were offensive, hurtful, and uncalled for. I question how many potential adopters, just trying to do a good thing, have had this experience and turned away from rescuing because of people like Daryl.

They quickly made a reservation for us at a large veterinary operation in nearby Brewster NY and took care of all of the details. We simply showed up, got the surgery, and went home. Because 4 PAWS does pet adoptions, and while we didn't adopt a dog or cat from them at this time, we would certainly consider it now, and we think they deserve the a lot of support from other folks. The way she talked about Puppy Roman you could feel the care and love she had for him .. minutes after Abbey and her 2 children arrived with Our Beautiful sweet Roman .. we had our meet and greet went great love at first sight . Abbey and her 2 kids both stayed and played with him tooo and the three of them answered all our questions and offered so much info on him . I could not be more thankful that we rescued from Because 4 PAWS !!!! Every thing was beyond well !!!!
