He brought in individual inspectors to do their portion of the inspection . He brought in plumbing inspectors, that sent cameras down the drains all the way out through the sewerage pipes to the street connection, electrical, inspectors, roof, inspectors that climbed all over the roof and took photographs, deep sea divers to inspect the seawall. Firat off, Eric arrived on time. This was a rush appointment as I was only in town for a few days when I put a contract down on a condo. We booked Eric for 2 days later in the morning. When I got to the condo, there he was, right on time! Eric was very thorough and professional - even played with my dog for a moment while jumping all over him, and then he got to work. He was methodical and thorough, and I thought it best to just stay out of his way. After he was through, he then walked me through his findings, and the estimate of what they would cost to fix. He gave me an overall assessment of the building, and the condo complex as he was familiar with it as well, and also promptly (within 24 hours) wrote up the report, wind report etc and sent them to me via email. Sorry for the long review in advance but I want to give as much context and information for you to make an informed decision. Also Google hides long detailed reviews apparently because it won't show up there. These issues were all discovered within 20 days of owning them home. We didn't move in right away so weren't there to see them within the first 2 days. This is the first service I've ever had that was so bad I had to spend my time to put a review to protect others. I was a first time home buyer and my real estate agent's go-to inspector was unavailable so we reached out to ABI. The quality is severely lacking in due diligence. We had them inspect one home that I could already foresee a bunch of issues with and they had an 6-8 man crew (can't remember at this point) for 1200 come out. They gave us a bunch of information that confirmed our thoughts and we walked from the house. That service was fine. No red flags. We found another home and again we're in a bind around Christmas so we reached out and they gave us a discount since we already used them before and it was only a one story home so it came out to $650 so $1850 total with the company. 1 person showed up for the second inspection and 1 for a pest/termite inspection. Within 20 days of owning the home we discovered They failed to notify us that the kitchen cabinets had VISIBLE water damage on the inside. We claimed to smell mold in the kitchen and our inspector said he didn't smell anything also said during the inspection and i quote "every home has mold in Florida it's no big deal if there is some". That should've been a red flag to me right there. Turns out there was black mold all behind the cabinets and active wetness. They didn't look around the sink or bother to use a moisture meter there. $4000 in new cabinets. $4000 new countertop. I grant you they can't see through cabinets but the fact they didn't see the visible water damage or use a moisture meter which would've alerted us to it is just wild to me. They failed to catch a roof leak where there was a dip from the exterior and rotted black wood in the attic. Both very much visible even though they claim their wasn't and I have picture proof for them all. There was also mold from this leak as well as it had been around for a very long time. Luckily my neighbor is a roofer and was kind to offer me a real fair price for the work since he couldn't believe they had missed the roof issue. $650. The crazy part of this is this section of the exterior of the roof was put in the report and said "good condition no deficiencies" when there was a clear deficiency. Said it was going to be good for years and it wasn't even good currently! They failed to point out the mold around the AC and in the return vent. Again all black mold which is a health hazard and expensive to clean. The cheapest quote was $3500. So all in all about $12k in immediate must fix issues that easily could've been caught and negotiated with the seller or we would've walked. It's just a shame nobody wants to take responsibility for their work. I got ahold of Eric the owner and he said he would call me after he reviews the photos and waits several days and then just send me an email denying everything. I'll let the pictures below of what i could see speak for themselves. Every other inspector I talked to was SHOCKED these issues weren't found. If you would want an inspector to catch these items don't contact this company. It's a little embarrassing that i ran into an employee of the company and they themselves were shocked that Eric offered no recourse and agreed these items should've been caught, human make mistakes and Eric should've owned up to it. Eric's first response in person at missing the cabinets he said "yeah well you should thank me for saving you on the first house" thank you for doing the job i paid you to do. When i called to inform him of the attic/roof issue. Just his go to out is to say contact a professional plumber, ac, roofer, general contractor, handyman, and everyone who is actually knowledgeable but me before buying a property. Really makes you wonder what kind of quality or expertise you're paying for?? Ultimately it's a big purchase so really do your research! I see a lot of good reviews (or Google just hides them?) on here so maybe I just got crazy unlucky. I just think if mistakes are made it's not a big deal, just do right by the customer and that wasn't done for me. My experience wasn't pleasant as I'm out in what I see as avoidable costs so from my experience i say stay away but others seem to recommend them. Use at your own discretion! read more

I just can't think of any reason why I would not give Eric Angerstein my whole hearted recommendation as a building inspector, an international businessman, an honest man, and a trustworthy human being. My situation was, my wife and I are looking for a home/investment property in The Bahamas. We found some property we were interested in and made an offer pending a home inspection. The real estate folks have a guy who charges $5,000 who can do it. I told them I knew a guy who would do it. I lied, I didn't know anyone. As I live in Nebraska, I needed to find someone I felt I could trust as well as represent our interests. I spent an evening looking at every home inspection company I could fine in south east Florida. Eric's business kept showing up and I ended up comparing others to him. At that point I decided to to contact him and see if he would be interested in a short trip to The Bahamas. He was. He shot me a bid which was very reasonable. We made arrangements for the agent to meet Eric and his crew when they arrived on the island. The inspection was performed and I received an 84 page report, complete with pictures. Each concern I had was addressed. Faults were documented and explained. I became an educated consumer and was able to make a sound financial decision. Eric very definitely represented us on this inspection. Eric is easy to communicate with. His report blew me away, we don't get that much detail in Nebraska and I wish we did.
