Quality of workmanship is very poor. I had this company replace ceiling and drywall after a leak, and the work is unacceptable. The crown molding was patched poorly, nothing was sanded down effectively, the walls have visible patch work, the window casing is the same, patchy, not smooth. Painted areas have roller lint stuck in the paint. I will have to have redone in some areas. Do not recommend. read more

I can only concur with the other 5-star reviews. AC&R is absolutely amazing. I found them thru my insurance company, USAA, so that endorsement immediately confirms their competence in my mind. On the phone, they are sympathetic, empathetic, and professional. After they have "talked you off the ledge", they offer a plan to at least get the damage contained, i.e. water removed, damaged floor/wall/drywall cut out, etc. They arrived within hours of my initial call (couldn't ask for more!), went to work and were extremely efficient and thorough. They tested for water damage further away than I would have thought any damage exists (unfortunately they were correct), simply an amazing attention to detail and understanding. They not only removed damaged areas, cleaned, they then disinfected the area with a spray! I offered them a cup of coffee and a clif-bar but they were too focused to even stop for a break. They worked about 5 hours non-stop. An amazing work ethic. I can't recommend this company highly enough. Fantastic. Simply fantastic. I had water damage in my kitchen. The contract for AC&R was given directly by my insurance company so I was not sure what to expect. As much as I appreciate the excellent work of the team who came out to do the removal/drying of the water damage, and they were truly first rate, I've been nothing but disappointed since then. I have called no less than three times for updates. I have never heard from the PM on the project and don't even know their name. I called when the fans were not picked up when I was told they would be and heard nothing. I called again the following Monday. While a team came out to get the equipment, I was never contacted by the PM. I called AGAIN to try to speak with the PM about doing the repair work and never STILL have not heard back. I guess they're not interested in the additional work so I will go elsewhere. All they had to do was say so from the start. Again, the workers who came out would get 10 stars. But, based on the PM, my overall impression of the company is that they lack professionalism and follow-through read more

I'm in step one of a few steps, so this could be altered but Les and his co worker were fast and friendly, very careful of the furniture and things while they tore the carpet out of the family room. When you wake up much too early on a Saturday morning, you do laundry. When you do laundry, the backside of your dryer catches fire. When the backside of your dryer catches fire, you run like hell and call the fire department. When the fire department arrives, they put the fire out with giant fire extinguishers. When fire extinguishers are used inside your condo, a mess and smell too big for you is created. Insert good insurance, and American Cleaning & Restoration, Inc. ACR arrived later that day at 4 p.m. (on a Saturday!) and got down to business cleaning our floors, walls and sealing off the laundry closet crime scene-style. They also brought in enormous industrial machines to clean our air of the toxic smoke and just general ickiness. Thanks to a small fire and ACR, we were still able to sleep in our condo that very night. Fast forward to Monday, and ACR was back bright and early to tackle the remainder of the structural mess. They were fast, efficient, and exceptionally polite. Using Men in Black gadgets, they found smoke damage in our central air system, smoked corner crevices that were only susceptible to dust bunnies, and found smudges even on the insides of our cabinets. Since ACR was turning my briefly smoke-filled condo into a showcase fit for The Price Is Right, I contacted my insurance company to see if ACR could clean all my stuff. Sidebar: Insurance companies find it insanely funny to make their customers wait in agony for any sign of coverage or approval. Disaster-laden customers, beware. JACKPOT. My insurance company decided to play nice. Wednesday morning, ACR was at the condo again, and this time my goods were getting their turn for a good scrub-down. I'm now under the suspicion that ACR must have Cinder-freaking-ella and her gang of woodland creatures working for them. I've seen the employees at work, and I still can't believe how much they got done, and how well they did it. My rugs from college with cat hair so embedded in them they looked like cats themselves are now fur-free and back to the lovely tiger striped they once were. My bathroom floor sparkles, my windows glisten, and even the mattresses smell woodland-clean. (Maybe the chipmunks tackled the bedrooms while the birds did the bathrooms?) Yup, they cleaned the mattresses. And all those dust bunnies and forever lost socks under the bed? The bunnies found their demise, and the socks were revived. I'm so thrilled with the job ACR did I could skip for joy. And I actually have the lung capacity to do so, since they even cleaned my air. In the past eight months I've had the misfortune of having water/sewer damage at my home. In August 2012 we accidentally left our 1st floor laundry sink running and two hours later we had a pool in the kitchen, which all went into the finished basement - it was a disaster. My insurance company recommended American Cleaning and Restoration and they did a fantastic job remediating the damage. They removed all the moisture from my home, carefully packed up and returned our furniture/possessions, always showed up on time, were honest and reliable - I could go on and one regarding the great job Chris and his team did for us. Fast forward to April 18th, 2013 where as a result of the heavy rains I ended up with a foot of sewage in my basement - it was horrible. Chris and his team were the only company to 1) Take my call on the first try and; 2) Schedule a time to remediate my basement. The other companies (Service Master for example), took several calls just to get someone on the phone and they said "I was on the list" but still have not called me to check in, let alone set an appt. Chris and his team did a wonderful job getting my house cleaned up. His guys are pulling 17 hour days and it must be brutal - however, his team cleaned up my basement perfectly and very, very quickly. When it was time to return our belongings, they again showed up ready to assist. All of our furniture was put back in place with ease. Was referred by a separate customer and was told the company does great work and is timely. Water Heater blew and American Restoration was great on the initial consult but the day you sign a contract all professionalism and timeliness goes out the door. Constant follow up and rescheduling. Had fans sitting in my house for 3 weeks due to company's general unorganized structure. Was pushed back on set dates - for example, was told fans only need to run 3 days and American restoration would send people on the 3rd day to ensure walls/floors are dry. Had to follow up 3 weeks later because company "forgot fans were at my house". Wouldn't recommend to anyone - incredibly pricy and they don't seem to care about internal schedules; more of a formality but subject to change when American Restoration feels like it. Also, for future reference (to Management), when you state you'll be at someones house at 5pm, do not assume it is ok to show up at 830pm without letting your client know you are late. Professionalism isn't a quality this company cares about. Use at your own risk. read more

We woke up on a Saturday morning to find our toilet's plastic water supply connection failed. As a result, the water supply line on the toilet ran all night and flooded the bathroom and two floors down into our first level and into the bathroom and hallway of our finished basement. It was an awful mess, and highly upsetting to say the least. Caved in ceilings and wet walls. Called insurance company, they said "you can find someone, we have no recommendation list." Checked Yelp and saw some good reviews, crossed fingers, prayed and called. I'm sure glad we did. American Cleaning responded to our home within 90 minutes on a Saturday. They explained everything, and they put us at ease while they were hard at work opening walls and ceilings to get everything dried out. On the first day, they arrived at 830a and they were there until almost 8p. The technicians were extremely hard working and very courteous. They really went a long way to help us feel better. We chose American Cleaning's sister company, Recon, to handle the repair of the water damage because we were so impressed with American Cleaning's professionalism. (We had the option to select our own contractor to complete repairs). We are very glad that we chose Recon for the repairs because they worked extremely hard, and the level of craftsmanship was amazing. We cannot even tell that there was any damage to the house. Their billing department is really skilled in navigating payment issues with the lienholder and the insurance company which would have been much more challenging without their help. We highly recommend American Cleaning and Restoration if you have water damage. We had a great experience with this company. read more

We had our one of our drains clogged on. Easter day and it backed up through our shower in the lower level, the water went into the laundry room and down our hall into the family room. We have wood laminate floors which was soaked with water. Jersey along with his crew came out immediately the next morning. They did an outstanding job, very impressive. They started working immediately and knew exactly what to do and how to do it. I was extremely impressed, very professional team. If the rest of the work is performed like these guys work, I will be referring them to anybody else that runs into a problem like we did. A+++ team! read more

When you wake up and your mattress is on fire, the last thing you are thinking of is how the hell you are going to clean up everything! But I was lucky enough to have an insurance company that sent Jeff from American Cleaning. His guys ended up having to pack out everything from my 3rd floor condo and take it away to be cleaned. He stayed in touch with me throughout the process, and coordinated with the other vendors (textile cleaning and flooring restoration) sent by my insurance adjuster. They even asked which items I wanted taken care of first so that I could move back as soon as possible. I'm camping out in my living room with a couch, a TV and a microwave, but I'm home. My insurance put in the order around 2:30pm on a Wednesday and they contacted me right away to tell me they'll be at my house the next day (Thursday) 2-4pm to clean and drop off equipment to get rid of the humidity (due to water damage). I left work early to be home and they showed up at 4pm. When I told them they were 2 hours late they just said "you know we're very busy". I'm busy too and I don't appreciate having to wait 2 hours, especially since I had to leave at 5 for an appointment and needed them to be done by 4 as agreed. The group of 4-5 men goes down to my basement and starts unplugging all my fans while I'm still discussing what kind of work they are doing because all I wanted was cleaning and they wanted to rip off all the walls and all my wood floor upstairs in my kitchen and dining room. They explained they needed to rip everything out to dry the walls and subfloor. So then I asked "what am I suppose to do without floors, walk on top of subfloor full of nails?" They told me to get a hotel. I was not happy with their attitude so I told them to leave. Their website says "customized drying solution to suit your needs by using scientific techniques and state-of-the-art equipment to dry and restore your home". Ripping off all my wood floors and asking me to go to a hotel is not something I'd consider a customized solution that suits my needs. read more
