Very satisfied with American Dental and would recommend their services to everyone we talk to. We were looking for a new dentist when our dentist retired a few years ago and we prayed and American Dental's name came up. My wife and I had considerable work done at Hamburg and we were very happy with the staff and especially Carol who went out of her way to help us in a courteous and timely manner. We were impressed to know that they have 14 other centers in our state and we already went to Kenhorst, Pa. on our last experience and it was a great experience. Absolutely, completely upset with this " corporate" chain. I had amazing care after surgery. Dr. Kim oral surgery and staff were rude, short, and failed every aspect of basic dental surgery. Failed implant placements, on all but 2 out of the original 7. Resulting in a second surgery and paying for another implant only to have all implant angle to be wrong, then having threads showing on an implant and pain not only were the implant was placed on a tendon but now pain where the threads are showing. I have been without teeth a full year I was in immediate dentures Feb to Oct and unable to wear the bottoms due to the pain, thankfully the dentist got me semi functional teeth to be normal until the second surgery healed only to be put right back into not being able to wear my bottom teeth again and still having pain on the top, I have seen another Dentist in the practice to take over my "complex" case and been falling on deaf ears, I called to ask for help with the pain trying to wear bottoms that no longer fit because of implant height changes and was treated as if I was nothing, I paid 39k for implants that arent placed correctly a addition surgery and for a 6-9 month process to now be going into a new year! I brought up concerns and painfully spots and nothing no adjustment or help. My tooth dentures hasn't been adjusted since Oct I had to call crying in pain to get an appointment for bottom adjustment when the denture was craving into my ridge and cheek. I have absolutely no faith or trust as I did when I started this journey. At the age of 33 I don't want to smile and have not been able to eat properly since Feb 2025. And now I'm stuck i paid everything and I'm stuck without teeth, without any way to correct the surgery, and no concerns from any staff. All of this because a surgeon lacked bedside manor and basic anatomy knowledge. And now the only dentist I trusted isn't part of the network and I have to see another dentist that just is pushing me off. I have been overly patient and trying to "roll with the punches" but I don't have anything that was promised and forever lost the ability to have a full happy healthy smile again. So no I do not recommend any person to use American Dental Solutions at any office and I got surgery at both Hamburg and Kenhorst been seen by both dentists at Hamburg and Kenhorst, since no one is left to listen or care there, please do not use American Dental they are just a small scale Aspen. Oh and make sure they actually send ALL information to your insurance company not just what "they think" insurance will cover. read more

I went to have an evaluation on having a implant put in from a tooth that was pulled in January, and a bone graft was done, it was next to another implant. According to them they wanted to pull the implant, and two more teeth that are not loose and completely fine. I was so upset and the price was through the roof on a retirement income. I couldn't even think straight. I called my dental insurance and they immediately said get a second opinion. I tried to call the office three times to go over their treatment plan and never received a call back from them. I was trying to get a better understanding. I went back to the oral surgeon that originally pulled my tooth yesterday and the scan showed nothing wrong, everything was fine. I wouldn't recommend going there just on customer service alone. read more

Heads up! I would be very careful when dealing with American Dental Solutions. I had a wisdom tooth pulled at American Dental Solutions, and they told me prior to the pulling that putting me to sleep because of where the tooth was, it would be covered 100 percent. Well, guess what... billing was not submitted for payment correctly, and my insurance refused to pay. After trying to resolve this issue for months, I received a "past due" notice for a bill of over $500. And a threat from American Dental Association to submit my bill to a collection agency? What?! At the age of 66, I have never had to deal with a collection agency, as I am debt-free and pay my bills ahead of time. Dear American Dental Association, this was a huge mistake. HUGE! I have plenty of time to write reviews. I cancelled further dental work and will be giving them the review they deserve. Let the reviews begin! read more

Worse Service ever. I will never come back again. I received a text that an earlier appointment opened up at 8:45 instead of my actual appointment at 9:45 am. I accepted the earlier appointment. When I arrived the desk person was very rude as she had a line of about 3 or 4 people waiting. So the dental hygenist comes out and tells me I'm early and I said no I'm not I have a text message changing my appointment time. So she says to me "well I don't do the text messages." So I say "so you mean I have to leave and come back in an hour?" She tells me "well, you Don't Have to Leave (in a very condescending voice)". So I told her I'm not sitting here an hour waiting just cancel my appointment. She was back at the desk and I asked why would they change my appointment if there wasnt one available? Again in a condescending voice she says. We dont do the texting! I say that it is irrelevant! its your company!! Horrible experience! I will nevefr go back there again!!!! The front desk ladies are the are the only constant and nice thing about this place. They do there best to keep this sinking ship afloat. The dentists and hygienists don't last more then a month or two before getting fed up and leaving. I've been taking my family here for over 10 years and today was the last straw. I've had a few really good hygienists over the years but they all left quickly. A few weeks ago my 6 month appointment was canceled, my daughters was also canceled recently. I had to leave work early today to do a fill in appointment and after a 45 min wait in the waiting room with only two other people in there, I was finally taken back to get my cleaning. The (next new hygienist) that I had never meant informed me that she wanted me to get X-rays. I politely told her that I was tight on cash this month and just needed a cleaning. (They are relentless here about pushing X-rays, I have gotten them many times over the years and I'm not a new walk in patient. ) At this point she got testy and rude with me and said she wouldn't clean my teeth if I didn't get them. I was a bit taken back but politely asked again if she could please just clean my teeth. She says some snotty response about I'll have to go talk to Someone. So I sit there for about 5 min. unsure of what I was supposed to do, I then get up and walk down to the reception desk to talk to them. and find out what's going on. The hygienist then comes storming down the hall and starts ranting at me about What was I doing, and she was talking to the doctor. Long story short, I gave up and she refused to clean my teeth. I said my goodbyes to the nice receptionists who I've know for years for the last time. And walked out baffled. Conclusion: This is the puppy mill of dentists. You might get your teeth cleaned here if you come, but the staff seams unhappy, The doctors don't stick around and there's a great chance at this point you might just get your time wasted. (Oh and Dr. Chan from the few good reviews in 2021 is long gone, and don't hold your breath waiting for your dental records to be sent to your new dentist, they won't send them probably.) Gentle Dental, don't bother with the generic "We care about you and please reach out to our office so we can resolve.. message... Folks There is no real way to get a hold of some one that can resolve an issue really. If you have an issue, when you try and contact them you get send to some switch board receptionist who isn't at the location you visited and can't help. read more

American Dental Solutions is a conglomerate, money hungry business! I went in for a cleaning and was told I had Periodontal disease and needed treatment immediately to the tune of 400 and change for one side of my mouth. The next day when I went it was all of a sudden $900 and change OOP! Then we still go another bill. This was all after insurance. I had my husband on the phone with them so they could explain to him why the price when up $500 overnight! The other side of my mouth couldn't be done because one tooth needed a root canal. So, I got that done but dentist (same company) said I needed tooth lengthening in order for him to do a crown. He wouldn't even do a temporary crown. He put a very, very small amount of filling in allowing the tooth to eventually break! I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THEM AGAIN NOR RECOMMEND THEM EVER! I now have a great dentist who is by the way still waiting for American Dental Solution to send them my records and x-rays which I signed off on to be released! BEWARE!!!!! read more

Very upset. Got my first pair on dentures on December 22nd. Couldn't keep them in. Went back the following Tuesday and they relined them. Brand new dentures??? They still don't stay in my mouth even with all that poligrip. What do I do? $ 1800.00 and can't use them. read more

I love my dentist, Dr. Chan. And every dental hygienist I've had has been good. They change a lot! I recently elected to try a Zoom whitening, and was particularly pleased with the care and exactitude with which it was performed. And I decided on an implant to replace an extracted tooth. The surgeon was efficient and very good. I elected to not be put to sleep and I'm glad I didn't. There was no pain at all. They gave me 3 prescriptions for afterwards. I am following the directions precisely, and have had NO problems. Now I must wait several months for the incision to heal before getting the actual tooth that will be visible. My only complaint is that the workers at the front desk are spotty about the mask wearing. I wish they were consistent! read more

I recently had to have an upper partial made and I chose American Dental in Hamburg after reading their reviews . Best decision I ever made ! The staff was awesome . I was so nervous but thanks to Victoria who is a dental technician everything went great. She always calmed me down at my appointments because i didn't know what to expect . The folks at American Dental are awesome. My wife and I switched to American Dental due to our previous dentist dropping our insurance. This is one of the few times I was glad this happened. The girls at the front desk are always very pleasant and accommodating, the hygienists always make getting my teeth cleaned a pleasant experience and when I need a dentist they are just as kind and compassionate as the rest of the team. Everyone there is awesome. Oh and if you forget you have an appointment you live under a rock. I received at least 3 text messages and a phone call to remind me of my last appointment. read more

I can't possibly say enough about how happy I am I chose this office. After a visit to the Large as seen on tv dental chain, I felt like I was being ripped off. I went on the delta dental website and found this was the next closest place that accepted my plan. I AM SO HAPPY I SWITCHED! This has so far been the best dental experience in my 41 years of life. The doctor here said exact opposite of everything the "other place" told me. The other place tried to sell me a $8,000 treatment plan which had to be paid just to get started! This place simply said we will start my crowns one by one and pay as I go. It also turns out I didn't need that $1400 root canal which I was told I needed by the other place! The topping on the cake is the staff at this location. It's nice being at a medical office that has a staff that is so relaxed and actually seems like they love their jobs! Worst experience ever ! I broke a filling they took many many X-rays not even of the chipped tooth! Then looked at me for 5 seconds and said they could not help me! Paid for same day dentures in October for my wife. Still don't have a working set on April 18, 2017. The junk we have will not lock down over the anchors we had surgically implanted at another surgical site. The current lump of crap we have in our possession indicates a complete lack of understanding of the mechanical aspects of denture fitting. They stand on top of the jaw like a flat glob with only the two thin implant pins to stop all movement and will not attach to the right side pin. Completely unusable and unacceptable.
