We hired American Eagle to replace our entire HVAC system in April for $12,480, paid in full. Unfortunately, key parts of the job were left incomplete, and efforts to resolve them have gone nowhere. A duct to our bedroom was never connected, there was no cutout made in the trunk, and no flex duct was installed. Another duct, which we had discussed lifting off the attic floor to allow access, was never suspended. These issues should have been caught before the job was closed out. We made every effort to support a smooth install: clearing our garage, moving items for equipment storage, purchasing extra plywood, and even running an air scrubber to improve attic air quality for the crew. After posting a review explaining our experience, we received a revised contract stating they would only finish the work if we removed our review and waived our labor warranty. That didn't sit right with us. We also reported a worker's inappropriate comments that made my wife and I uncomfortable, and our concerns were dismissed. The work in question would take about an hour to complete, but after weeks of follow-up, we've had no resolution. We're hiring another HVAC company to finish the job and plan to pursue recovery through small claims court. We hope others have a better experience, but based on ours, we recommend double-checking everything before signing off. read more

These guys are the best. From the outset, they were timely, professional and most importantly, totally transparent on the pricing and options when we were having issues with our AC. We actually used them twice, once to evaluate the issue when our AC went out (and then suddenly began working again). They didn't even charge us for that first visit. When the AC eventually died for good, Sal helped us navigate New Jersey's clean energy program and subsidies and we had a new system installed in under two weeks. My a/c unit stopped working on July 19, 2023 so I called American Eagle after seeing the reviews on Yelp. They came out the next day and tried to fix the a/c compressor with new parts but nothing worked. The gentleman explained everything to me as he was trying to get the unit to work. ( I am bad remembering individual names). I was so impressed how informative the gentleman was and how he made me understand what was happening to my unit. My furnace was 36 years old so I decided to replace the a/c unit and furnace. A few days later the crew came out and replaced both units and the a/c coil. They were professional, courteous and cleaned up everything after they were finished. I thought their pricing was good that I didn't even try to get an estimate from other installers. read more

We were having issues with our 20 year old central air system and called American Eagle based on recommendations we saw on social media. We were really glad we did. (And, I really liked being able to support a local family run business) Sal showed up and did a thorough evaluation of our system and provided several different options. We knew we would likely need a new system because the one we had has been problematic over the last few years and knew we were on borrowed time. Sal spent almost two hours checking and measuring everything and then emailed us a quote later that evening that was much less than what we expected (the last contractor estimated the job as twice as much as what American Eagle quoted). We needed a new condenser and compressor; but they were able to clean out use reuse the coil (which I am sure the other contractor would not have bothered to try to do since the freon is different). Sal ordered the new unit and came to install it a few days later with Shawn. They both did a fantastic job with the installation, going above and to ensure that everything was perfect. And now the AC works so well, I need to keep a sweater handy. I would high recommend them to anyone having heating or air conditioning problems. read more

I am in Edison area but use this company all the way from Matawan, NJ. I have been using their service for upwards of 3 years. I have 1 rental unit with 1 HVAC heat+cool and my home with 2 HVACs heat/cool. 1 of the HVAC is +30 yrs old and was written off. Joe and Sal or father and son respectively are extremely polite and well mannered. Very professional in their approach. They have been tuning my systems summer and winter. Their price is very reasonable. They test every aspect of a running system like taking CO measurements, burner ignition, static pressure, initial combustion analysis, etc. They inform customers of which part is suspicious and recommend changing it. They have never tried to up sell me anything. The receptionist/admin/sectretary - Mona is a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend them for your hvac / water heater needs. read more

Joe and Sal are both great. They stand behind their work. Needed HVAC system from 2 yrs ago probably but I manage to squeeze in 2 more years on my old system due to both of them fixing issues that came with that old unit. Once the time comes to replace my unit, I called American Eagle and they walked me through everything from estimate, through application of loan with my gas company, post work inspection and energy rebates. American Eagle Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. 7/23/20 Dispatcher wrote up ticket that was convenient to the business (diagnostic). Absolutely NO Work was done, no cleaning, no remedies, yet I was charged $94.90 for a FALSE diagnostic. The technician stated he did not know enough about mini-split AC systems, and needed to call the manufacturer. The technician was on a phone que for AT LEAST 40-45 minutes waiting for the manufacturer which I get billed for. Due to the reading taken on site, the manufacturer stated that there was a leak in the system. The technician then explained the procedure to find a leak -- very labor intensive. Since both the technician and the homeowner was uncertain of a leak, the technician put both zones to 64 degrees to see how cold the air got. THE AIR GOT VERY COLD. The owner then asked, "So when are you going to clean the system?" The technician was confused, as the dispatcher wrote the ticket up as "diagnostic visit". Owner stated that SERVICING was also stated in the initial phone call to the office since the system wasn't cooling efficiently. The technician stated that a second day would have to be scheduled for cleaning at an additional price of $377.00 on top of the $94.90 where nothing was done. I would NOT recommend AMERICAN EAGLE since: (1) they write tickets that pad their pockets and do not reflect what the owner asked. (2) they send out technicians that do not know the system. (3) many contractors roll the diagnosis fee into a repair fee to assure that they are called for the repair -- but not this company! (4) IT IS AMAZING HOW NEGATIVE DO NOT SHOW IN THE RATING. read more

We contacted American Eagle because our existing central air conditioner failed. Joe came to our home and evaluated our problem. He gave us an estimate and explained what he would do and how long the work would take. Joe and his son Sal came to our home at 9am on Saturday and before 4pm, they had our new unit up and running. We felt Joe and his son were very professional and did an excellent job and were careful as they protected our wood floors and cleaned up after their work was complete.
