I was looking for a smaller company to diagnose my central air issue. My experience with larger operations is they charge way more to pay for all that overhead with their fleet of fancy trucks. I also liked the fact Anthony didn't have any of those scam maintenance contracts that the bigger guys try to intimidate you into signing. If they try to pull that crap, run. My father was in the trades and working with him when I was younger gave me a good BS detector. That said, I called Anthony, left a message and he got back to me within 15 minutes. Super honest nice guy. I explained my issue and he explained that he can fix central air units but doesn't replace them, which I initially thought was disappointing, but it turns out to be the best way. Think about it. With older units most other companies are going to tell you to replace the entire thing. They don't want to replace some part because there's no big payday in it for them. I liken it to a dentist. They don't try to save your tooth anymore because they can make much more money putting in an implant. After a time misunderstanding on my part, we arranged a time and Anthony showed up ,on time. He diagnosed the problem and replaced the part at very little cost. All guaranteed. I'm just happy if it gets me through the summer. You have to call Anthony first, before anybody else. Anthony spent the day texting with me before coming over in person, trying to trouble shoot. when he arrived, he quickly figured out the problem and knew time was of the essence. He got the part + installed it within 24 hours and said he didn't want me to pay until we are certain it works long term. That's the absolute opposite of all the opportunists out there. My washing machine was vibrating when it was on spin cycle so I decided to have it checked out. Thru Yelp, Anthony Mechanical HVAC & Appliance responded and came to check it out. The washing machine was working and completed the wash cycles. He bounced the tub from side to side and explained it needed new whatever and he would call with the repair cost. Next morning I did a wash, and the machine would not spin out, not surprising after it was bounced from side to side by this repair service. A/C went out in the middle of the night, first got a quote from NJR (really expensive). then called Anthony. Answered the phone immediately and was at my home in less than an hour. Within 20 minutes he quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the faulty part. This guy is the BEST. We had a major problem and I called him up and he was over within an hour. It wasn't just that, he was "a regular guy". So nice, explained what was wrong, clearly discussed pricing, timing, etc. We agreed to move forward with him, and he fixed it even quicker. A couple of years ago I called Anthony because of a problem I was having with my LG gas dryer. After diagnosing the problem, Anthony told me due to a lint fire that occurred, he wouldn't (not couldn't) fix the dryer. His reason was he couldn't guarantee it would function safely. I was very impressed with his honesty because he didn't profit by making the repair. I called Anthony again (two days ago) when I was having a problem with the freezer on my LG refrigerator. Anthony explained to me that it was an easy fix that I could do myself and it turned out it was. Again, he took money out of his own pocket by not making the service call.
