Malgorzata describes her establishment as "an eclectic gallary and boutique with handmade clothing, accessories and much more." Within its walls can be found artisan gifts of handmade jewelry; unique mobiles & clocks; purses, clothing, scarves and hats; musical wall art; pottery; baskets; and beautiful woven clothing made by Malgorzeta herself. The loom is on the premises so you can see what she's creating. (Malgorzeta has 20 years of weaving experience.) Art pieces on site rotate out so new artists are featured; over 200 artists are represented. If there's something you want, but can't find in the shop, just ask; she's happy to order it for you if she's able. (I am currently awaiting a stylish handbag in a color she didn't carry.) I believe that the shop is owned and run by a mother/daughter duo. However, if there are other staff working in the shop they're totally unknown. I've been shopping here since they opened but the shop always seems understaffed. When the owner is in she is attentive to her customers but that's about it. Many times I've gone in and no one has been at the counter instead people have been at the tables in the rear room talking and chatting. However, you don't know who works there. The last time I went in, Sunday, October 17, no one even acknowledged that I was there. I walked the store several times looking for something in particular but since I wasn't sure who it was that was working in the shop and who was a customer I didn't ask for any help. That seems to be the constant in the shop. It's great that they're so friendly if you are friends with the staff because otherwise...who knows. I haven't taken any of their classes. I don't think they have a great deal of variety for settings or findings, but they have a lovely selection of beads. Prices are a tad bit higher than across the street at Gifts of Avalon but they are a good balance to Gifts of Avalon. They carry similar beads, some of the same, but they have a bunch of items that aren't the same which is nice to create variety in Gainesville.
