So first off lemme start by saying I'm only 24 I do not care to take the time to write a review but.... I've worked in retail positions at many various locations of stores since I've been 15 & this location has the most saddest & uneducated customer service I have ever experienced. No informativeness & understanding or empathy from the staff members. The stickers for the entrance of their line were faced the completely opposite direction of where it would start. From the customers POV it's very confusing & the staff members were not receptive to feedback whatsoever. Even tho we were asked how everything was. Once we expressed how we felt we were told word for word "there's nothing I can do about that" maybe better training on responding to customers could be highly beneficial at this store location. read more

We attempted to go in and exchange a pair of jeans bought not that long ago. We couldn't find the receipt and just wanted a pair of jeans in exchange. No money back or a more expensive pair for free, just an even exchange. The return policy online and on the receipts states if you are unhappy with a purchase that you can get an exchange or refund. If no receipt provided then you can get the current selling price. Well when an item has a defect from production that doesn't hold up, and how American Eagle seems to stand by their jeans, but then allows customer to be treated so poorly when all they are trying to do is swap them, is a joke. Jenn who was on register around 2:30pm on 4/14/24 was so rude and unhelpful and she clapped back and talked back to us. She definitely did not match the profile of someone who should work in customer service. I worked for the company for 9+ years and know how to take care of customers and make sure they are satisfied. I have shopped at AE for years but I honestly don't think I'm going back after today. Was trying to shop for my birthday but I guess they just don't carry anything above a size medium in store anymore because I found nothing that would fit me. I couldn't find a single women's belt that fit me, so I was trying to see if a men's belt would work. I was approached by THREE different salespeople trying to redirect me to the women's belts so I had to explain three times that they carried none in my size. One even tried to convince me that it would fit, which was just frankly embarrassing as it obviously wouldn't. I finally left without buying anything so a fourth person couldn't force me to announce that I'm too fat to shop there. So much for a size inclusive brand. read more

I went in this store today and watched several employees folding clothes and working the floor when only one girl was serving as cashier- a very slow cashier at that- as the line piled up (which is very uncomfortable in this space, since there is nowhere for the line to go and people don't know where to stand- everywhere you look is narrow walkways and stacked tables). I finally got out of line and told one of the clothes folders that they needed help at the registers. She said she knew and thanked me. One girl came up and was also extremely slow. I left and came back later on my way out of the mall only to find the same situation: two slow cashiers, a long, confused line, and nobody trying to change the situation. Yeah, fail, American Eagle. My first visit at American Eagle Outfitters and I'm very impressed with the over all customer service. I usually head towards the dressing room to ask for a chair for my son depending on if he has to stay long. Stephanie, one of the employees working on the floor, called someone on her "mic". Another employee comes out of the back room with a folding chair in his hand and places it down for my boy, just like that! Amazing customer service! While, I was shopping everyone of the employees talked to my boy and gave him big smiles asking if he was good. No wonder why my daughter loves shopping here! read more

I came here to return jeans I ordered online. The styles are nice but jeans were super uncomfortable. I encountered what appeared to be a lead or manager upon entering and told him I wanted to return the items and why. I asked if he had any recommendations for softer and more comfortable fitting jeans. He said no unless I wanted leggings instead of jeans. So I proceeded to the register to do my return. I met store employee Jordan who was awesome. Told her my issue and she said they did have some styles that were softer and easier fitting that she pulled for me to try on. While I didn't find anything I loved I appreciated her taking the time to help. And what she pulled for me was much better than what I had ordered. read more

I also agree with previous posts. I worked for the company for six years and that store is a joke. It's absolutely filthy and nobody is doing anything and it couldn't be more obvious nobody wants to be there. Neither did I, but that doesn't mean you slow down others because you're not having a good day. I asked if they still did the 15% discount for checking in on 4 square/fb and they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about and offered zero help to find out. If you like being ignored and forced to wait a ridiculously long time to give someone money, then this is the place for you! With the cute-ish clothes, I thought I would be frequenting this store often to clothe my picky teenager, but I will not spend a cent at this store after the horrible customer service I experienced. The ridiculously slow cashier and slovenly-dressed store manager feel it is acceptable to force customers to wait over ten minutes before helping the next person in line. Is this a Barney's offshoot? When I walked by the register the first time there was already a line, but I was browsing for an item to exchange for the scarf my teenager received as a gift. I decided to just make the return and let my teen pick out something else with a gift card I intended to buy to supplement the return amount. The line hadn't moved. There were at least three other sales people that passed by and could have been called to help the next customer while the cashier continued to muddle his way through a return. There was probably only five customers browsing the store. I guess all of the customers looked like shoplifters and the employees had to walk around appearing not to see any of them. Maybe the sales people were secretly watching them, at least from afar because they didn't appear to engage with any of the customers as I was watching for over 13 minutes from the time I started looking at my watch and was finally helped. To top the experience off, the cashier even called the manager for authorization on the customer's return. The manager completely ignored the line and went back to pacing around and walking by the line another four times. I realized the cashier must have gotten his horrid customer service skills from this slovenly dressed manager. Eventually, the manager appeared to check a size on the display for a customer, but disengaged shortly after. I was finally helped by this mental giant who offered no thanks for my patience. Instead, he insisted I share my phone number with him to complete the transaction. That is absurd, but I shouldn't have been surprised given his leadership. I gave him 999-999-9999, which is the default for customers who don't want their phone number distributed. Lo and behold, after I was being helped, the store manager did get on a register to help the next lucky person in line. The cashier did thank me for being so polite. He is most welcome for my reaction, that is all they will get from me since I will be giving their useless gift card away. read more
