I was given a present of a Armoire that was purchased from AFD. It has defects (cracks top front corner), not far from the upper door hinge. I did not complain or contact anyone to voice my complaint, since it was a gift. The Comeaux family who owns and operates AFD can't be blamed for it. It must've happened during transportation and went unnoticed. I don't know what it sold for but I got it for free and delivered. I use it regularly and appreciate the gift. Maybe it was discounted and you don't look a gift horse in the mouth. I know the Comeaux's and they're good Christians and very honest people. I know they'd extend a hand to me if I asked them to. I had high hopes for this store given the beautiful pieces and the friendly nature of both the owners and the inside sales reps. However, the customer service experience is unacceptable. I've encountered multiple issues: my white bed turned yellow, and nothing was done until my sister left negative reviews. Only then did someone reach out to address it--but with a sarcastic attitude. I've also faced problems with delivery, which is especially frustrating given that I live miles away and the store card can only be used in person. The most recent experience has been particularly frustrating. I reached out about a Black Kaine Chair and initially received unhelpful responses. A manager eventually called, which I appreciated, and he assured me that over 30 chairs would arrive by the end of October, informing me this was more than enough to meet demand. I told him I would keep calling and drive to Covington when they arrived... I wasn't going to drive to Covington Twice. When I checked back on the week of the 20th, they were still unavailable. Today, after reaching out yet again, I received a screenshot with part of our previous conversation circled--almost as if to imply my questions were an inconvenience. This response was both rude and unprofessional. Now, I've learned that all 30 chairs are sold out, despite being told there would be plenty. I'm incredibly disappointed because, after all this back and forth, I could have easily spent my money elsewhere. This is actually for the Room Shoppe which took over the space on Hwy 59 but is some kind of subsidiary of AFD. This place is terrible. First of all they only deliver to New Orleans on Fridays...like its some sort of far-off land, but fine, whatever. Then they said my furniture would be delivered in 3-4 weeks. By week 3 I hadn't heard from them so I started calling and getting the runaround. Finally today they said it wouldn't be delivered until the following Friday, past the 4 week mark. When I said that was unacceptable and I wanted to cancel my order and get a refund I was told there would be a 25% cancellation fee. Face it, once you pay they have you on the hook and can be as terrible to you as they want and trust me, they will be as awful as they possibly can. Take your business elsewhere. Anywhere. Worst customer service experience I've ever had. Purchased a piece of furniture from AFD and was told we had to pick it up at the distribution center and it would require "minor assembly - like putting the drawers in." Picked it up the next day only to find it completely flat packed. Not happy about that, but really wanted the piece to do some reorganizing, so took it anyway. Start to unpack it, only to discover that one of the doors is split completely in half. Call the distribution center and get put on hold and passed around before finally being hung up on after 20 minutes. Load the broken pieces back in the truck and call again, only to be told that the distribution center is closing and cannot accept the return until Tuesday. Tried to return it to the store where we bought it, but the manager Ben insisted that he couldn't accept it because he would have no way of getting it back to the distribution center. Now we're stuck driving around with a broken piece of furniture in our truck, and taking time off work to return between 10-5 three days from now. read more

That is when we noticed that the mattress was sagging. We didn't purchase the mattress AFD. I contacted the mattress mfg. and was denied warranty 3 times because nothing was wrong with the mattress. After further inspection we realized that it was the bed slats on the bed frame that were sagging , so I then called AFD to see about having them replaced. I was told to fill out a warranty form online. I did and a week later still no response. I called them back and was told sorry you are 3 weeks out of your warranty... I tried to explain that this is a problem that we have BEEN dealing with and just figured out that it was their product that was causing the problem. Then they tried to sell me more expensive slats. After speaking with 2 warranty people (The second one hung up on me after I got a mad because they were trying to sell me new stuff instead of standing behind the product that they sell. I cursed...) I called back and asked to talk to the store manager and was put on hold for 30mins. That's when Kodi got on the phone. At first he seemed cool and said he would look into it and give me a call back the next day. No call by 2:30pm. I called back and was told Kodi was on the sales floor, and that I could leave a message. I did. No return call by 4:45pm, so I called back. Kodi came to the phone and said that he hadn't "Gotten A Chance" to get to it. However that must have been a lie since a few minutes later I was told that he spoke with one of the owners David, and he said they were going to offer me 50% off new slats but because I cursed on a prior phone call that now I'm being punished and get nothing... Yes I got mad and cursed... Because instead of standing behind the product that they sell they would rather find any loophole to not help some one who spent THOUSANDS of dollars with them. Instead of replacing a part that probably cost them $15. I guess they would rather have bad reviews and unhappy customers. Just take a look at the rest of the reviews... I wish I had. My husband and I ordered a sofa and love seat on Feb. 2. At the end of March we received a message from salesperson that it was coming in about a week. Kept calling to get updates and received every excuse in the book from trucks not coming because of rain to truck may be here and unloaded and we don't know what's on it. Had trouble getting sales lady to even call us back after leaving several messages. Well Easter came and went. Finally got store manager involved and was told they have a new delivery system and they were waiting for a truck. It took another 6 weeks for furniture to come in. It finally came in the middle of May. After numerous phone calls we had been lied to by several people in the store. Then we found out when furniture is on its way Klaussner makes an appointment with the store. So for 6 weeks our sofa's sat ready waiting for a truck. To make matters worse, we ended up canceling the fabric protection. Then they e- mailed us a new invoice that said charge was removed to satisfy irate customer. Well how nice is that! Sofa was delivered the Friday before Mother's Day and two pillows were missing. I e-mailed the manager then called and told I needed to go online and file a warranty claim which I did. Claims says someone will contact us in 3 to 5 days. I have called several times and have been told they are working on it, whatever that means. Well we are going on week 3 and still no response. Totally unacceptable! We have ordered from Doerr, Ethan Allen and Hurwitz- Mintz and have never once had an issue. We just moved to Northshore and now I so wish we had ordered from Doerr. After multiple attempts to get in touch with Mr. Moore by several phone calls, going to the store in person, and finally by email , I received no response!! It wasn't the fact that I was told that my furniture would be in by the beginning of October and now its looking like the beginning of November but when I had to return a nightstand and dining table Bc I realized my measurements were off, they told me I had to pay a "restocking fee." The furniture was never even delivered to the house yet and these items were available in their warehouse already. I went to ANOTHER furniture store and spoke to an experienced furniture sales rep and she was appalled that they would charge me a restocking fee for something they already had in the warehouse and for something that they never delivered. Do your research Bc if there is something you like from there, a billion other furniture stores are willing to price match and they probably offer better customer service than what I just experienced due to a mistake in my measurements. My recommendations is to just go to this furniture store to see what you like Bc they do have a ton of stuff on the display floor THEN go to another furniture store and ask them to order you that same brand and price match it for what you saw them selling it for. I was so excited to get my first new piece of furniture. I was recommended to go here to pic out my dinning room set. The service was good, walked out with a quote and ordered the dinning room set that week and paid in full. They said I should be able to get it in a few weeks. Then it went downhill from there. Called back a month later and they said it is going to be a few more weeks. Called again two weeks later, dinning room set is on two shipments, around 2 more weeks earliest shipping crate, the other half of the set is next month. So my husband had to finally go in, since they told my husband I had been told how to fix the bed. They finally agreed it had to be replaced and was suppose to be sent when we got back from summer vacation. I called and was told it would be sent Wednesday September 9th, then an hour before they called me and said we hadn't picked out the bed and cancelled the delivery. So I went into the store with my 1 year old son that day, waited thirty minutes to finally speak to the person dealing with it and he said I should just get the same mattress. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!! Wife and I went into the store to purchase furniture for three bedrooms and a living room. Picked out all the pieces we wanted/needed. Sales lady was very quick to rush us up to the cashier once she knew what we were buying and did not allow us any opportunity for questions. She disappeared after she walked us up to the cashiers desk and nobody knew where she went and nobody else was willing to answer our questions. "You would have to talk to your salesperson" is all we could get from anyone. I understand how commission sales works but also understand how CUSTOMER SERVICE works... Several weeks go by and no word on our items we purchased and had to order from the factory. I called to check up on it to see if its in and our sales person was with another customer so they took my name and number to have her call back when she finished up. Waited and waited, nothing... Next day, saaame thing. So I wait a few more days and call back, surprise, same thing. At that point i had enough I am going to the store here in Mandeville to get with a manager to see where our stuff is at. I get down there and ask to speak to the manager and get screened by a salesperson before they would let me talk to him so I demand to speak to a manager. I explain to the manager that I have called several times and get no response, no call back, and no information. He proceeds to tell me that I would have to get with my salesperson to get all of that information after I explained all of that to him. So I restate that I have been trying that for three weeks now and that I still haven't heard anything. He snobbishly gets my info and proceeds to tell me that half of my order has arrived and is ready for pick up. Leave there just as aggravated as when I walked in the door because i had been fighting to get a status on my furniture for weeks... I go pick it up without incident and get it home and both side rails on the bed are scratched, dented, and there is a support on the back of the headboard that is separated from the headboard. I call them and explain the damage and they tell me I only have a 3 day warranty on my furniture from the date of pick up since i chose to pick it up myself. They want it back and would have to order us another set and that "it would take a few weeks...". They cannot send someone to do any type of in-home repairs because I declined the $150 delivery service. it would be a $5 repair at most, a little touch up paint and some wood glue and replace one missing screw from the separated board. Instead they said they will order a new set for us after we bring the one i already brought home and unboxed back to them. So for "three weeks" we would be without a bed and the fight would continue to get status updates and furniture in. STILL waiting on a queen bed set that has been on order for a month and will not be here for at least another 4 weeks... She said today it will ship next week from the factory to them but will take three weeks to make it there?? Is only takes three days to get to the moon from earth... seriously! read more

I don't recommend going or buying anything from this furniture store. You only get good service when it's time to buy! We purchased a sectional from them not a cheap one. They said it was going to arrive in 8 weeks took longer than that! We are patient people that wasn't the problem, 4 piece sectional arrived and it had a hole in it! I saw it immediately and told the delivery guy it was damaged. They took photos with their iPad and said the company will contact us for a replacement. 2 months after I haven't heard from them so I go to the store to ask. They knew nothing about the damage piece say they are going to check and see what's going on. They finally said the damage piece of the sectional was ordered and they will deliver it in a few weeks. Needless to say I must have called over 10 times never did I get someone on the phone or got emails or calls returned. Also they gave me two stories of why the problem hadn't been resolved. Lie #1 the ipad got an upgrade and all the pictures got deleted! Lie #2 the delivery guy quit and stole the ipad. Then finally I get a call they are going to replace the damaged sofa and someone shows up saying they are going to fix it. So all this time they said it was going to be replaced not fixed. It's been 3 months the people running this place are inept and have no customer service skills. I paid in full for a new sectional sofa not for a refurbished one! I still have not gotten any clear answers from anyone in this store. Take your money elsewhere and don't bother. Upon delivery I discovered that the recliners were not leather but naugahyde which is defined as an artificial leather. The ad never said the recliners were ARTIFICIAL LEATHER only LEATHER. I would give this business 5 stars if I hadn't been sold a worthless $500+ upholstery warranty that was a bait and switch. I was given a 4 month run around until I was finally told that if I had more than one stain (no bigger than a quarter) the warranty would not be honored. Like all of the other bad reviews tell you, the customer service is horrible. From start to finish, which took over a year, we have fought with them over countless things. We ordered "custom" couches (which were just different color and fabric types picked out). When they finally came in, one was the wrong couch completely, didn't recline like it was supposed to. Called , called, and called some more, manager would not call me back, also dealt with attitudes. Finally, I emailed the store manager with the regional manager copied in, and had to be firm with them stating my next contact will be the owners. After that, got a call within a day...imagine that! Indirectly called me a liar over what I ordered, even though our sales associate vouched for us also. Once it came in, the delivery guys decided it was a good idea to take clear shrink wrap off of a white couch and put it on a dirty delivery truck. I should have read the reviews. Do not shop here. I was given a timeline on furniture availability and it was just one of many lies. I was assured I could cancel said order if it wasn't available in time so I canceled it when it wasn't in on time, and was told I was getting a refund. I was lied to about that too. No one ever called me to tell me any of my items were in once they did arrive. Once I found out, I couldn't get items delivered due to a variety of reasons. Sure, when they are selling items to you, they are super helpful and full of promises. Everything after that point is an unprofessional disaster. Please don't make the same mistake I did. Go anywhere else. I still have to deal with these people to try to get items delivered. 10 months and counting... For the past 10 years my husband and I have purchased furniture from AFD. The first was our bedroom set. We originally saw it at Restoration Hardware in Lakeside Mall (Metairie, LA). It was priced several thousand higher than what we found it to be AFD. It was not a similar set. It was the exact set! We had searched around at several furniture stores in the New Orleans metro area, North Shore, Baton Rouge and Slidell before deciding. We wasted a lot of gas the 1st time around. When we decided on AFD, we also decided this would be our 1st stop for furniture going forward. The bedroom set was, and still is, absolutely beautiful. Later we needed a few den items. We purchased a matching set (bar with stools and a TV stand). Again, these items were priced very well and we love them. As time went on we needed a new sofa. Since we have had wonderful service resulting in durable and beautiful furniture to compliment our home and way of life, we again went back to AFD. This was within the past year and we purchased a new sofa with an end table. For the 1st time we ordered the sofa custom. It was again a great price, came in on the time they estimated and compliments our home wonderfully. The next time we need something will be there! The sales lady and the interior designer were both wonderful. I love the living room design we came up with and purchased the leather chair. I had planned to purchase the other items but was very disappointed with the finance department that entered my check payment incorrectly causing my bank to charge me a fee. Then, I got a call from them stating that I needed to pay the rest of the quote as if I was delinquent.
