Tyler told me Jason was no longer with Moon Valley, and asked if he could meet with us at our home. Tyler was apologetic, kind, and could not have been more helpful. Tyler helped us find the right plants, and gave us nice ideas for our landscape areas. Despite being a very busy and important guy at Moon Valley, Tyler Brand treated my husband and I like we were very important customers, and was always available to us with any question we had. Tyler's team of hard working guys came and planted our new plants, refreshed our landscape areas with new mulch, and made everything look really lovely! Rob and I are very happy with the job they did for us. To make up for our negative experience with Jason, Tyler gave us some free gifts, and tried to make it up to us, which he succeeded in doing. Because of Tyler Brand, and his kindness, and consideration, Moon Valley Nurseries will be our go-to landscape place. Plus, Tyler is a fellow lover of the band Korn. I called and was assured it would be there at least 1-2 hours prior to the viewing at 9am. I got a text message at 3:30pm that my plant was out for delivery. On a recent visit, some of the plants were looking a little rough, including the salvias I bought, but with the recent heatwave, it's no wonder some plants aren't looking their best. The guys are helpful if you need hay or bags of garden soil loaded and someone always asks if you need help, when they see you browsing the plant aisles. They have a good variety of healthy plants. although the bougainvillea selection was way down, which is why I stopped by on this visit. Prices are mostly reasonable and plants I've bought at this garden center have done well. The store has a covered area and sun area, so you can see plant requirements at a glance. Gardening in zone 10 can be a challenge, but Golden Gate Nursery has you covered.

The trees were the twenty five gallon size and delivered right to my home. All the trees are large and healthy. My poinciana tree has a place of honor in the front yard. With the exception of some of the more garishly beachy vendors, the selection is overwhelmingly great. Every booth has at least 15 things that I love, 8 that I'd actually buy, 4 I can afford, and 1 I can't live without. That's how they get me. Vendors hold sales on their booths regularly (check for 50% off vendors!!!) and you can step out of there having spent under $50 for something really special. On the other hand, there are pieces in there that are outrageously overpriced. But that's par for the course for a shop like this. I find it part of the fun, setting your eyes on a piece that's.. oops...$4,000. Chesterdales is an adult I Spy Book. Perfect for people who love framed paintings, tchotchkes of any type, particularly dishware, coastal/ rattan furniture, mirrors... the list goes on. Staff is quite helpful but not overbearing. The store is well air conditioned but not overly (if you know SWFL, you know what I'm talking about. You don't need a sweater to shop in here.)
