I have been a long time customer and my needs changed to do a job change. I reached out to them…read moreprior to renewal and when I needed to switch after the renewal I was informed I'd get a refund of the balance paid. I received a check for $24.49. When I inquired as to why, they said that payment plans are subject to a 10% penalty for total amount of the 6 month policy less the 9 days of coverage. A simple heads up would have been a minimal courtesy. Instead of a simple apology or anything...they send me an email the in summary was: "We sent you a brochure thricely, you should have read it. Have a blessed day." Terry Morgan stated that they wished they could take the time to explain a policy to every policy holder and then took the time to condescend and gaslight me all the same. They said it was NC law that they could overcharge and charge this penalty. I have a string of emails. I guess I should have read the brochures that were printed "in black and white and it is YOUR responsibility to read and understand the policy." Yes the YOUR was in all caps. Absolutely unacceptable in every way. I will happily post the email for clarity.

I had all my vehicles insured with Progressive because they had competitive rates, but the screwing that I took from them explains why they can be cheap. I hit a deer in one of my vehicles and when I tried to file a claim, they told me that I had no comprehensive coverage. I told them that I am sure I got comprehensive when I did the quote. After looking into it, they told me that I HAD comprehensive insurance but due to having my daughter on my policy when she got her learners permit for more than 12 months(which was because of Covid) they dropped my comprehensive coverage?!?!? A.) what does the length of time that my daughter takes to get her license from her permit have to do with anything? B.) why would you just decide to randomly pick Comprehensive Coverage to delete from my policy? C.) this change in my policy should have been made known to me. They said they mailed a letter but such an important change should have been sent by certified mail to insure I got it, because I got no such notice by mail of the change. This is just another example of the snakes in the grass insurance industry. Pay, pay, pay, every month and never use it so for a good driver you just pay all your life and never get anything. Then the one time you need it, they've screwed you and do everything to get out of it. Now I'm left with a $3,000 repair that I am still saving up to get done. Progressive Sucks!!! Even more than insurance in all.
