I reached out to them…read moreprior to renewal and when I needed to switch after the renewal I was informed I'd get a refund of the balance paid. I received a check for $24.49. When I inquired as to why, they said that payment plans are subject to a 10% penalty for total amount of the 6 month policy less the 9 days of coverage. A simple heads up would have been a minimal courtesy. Instead of a simple apology or anything...they send me an email the in summary was: "We sent you a brochure thricely, you should have read it. Have a blessed day." Terry Morgan stated that they wished they could take the time to explain a policy to every policy holder and then took the time to condescend and gaslight me all the same. They said it was NC law that they could overcharge and charge this penalty. I have a string of emails. I guess I should have read the brochures that were printed "in black and white and it is YOUR responsibility to read and understand the policy." Yes the YOUR was in all caps. Absolutely unacceptable in every way. I will happily post the email for clarity.

The front desk staff are (almost all) very friendly and helpful as well. I love being able to talk to a real and local person when I have questions (instead of being sent to a call center in another state like other carriers use). Farm Bureau is not the cheapest option out there, but in my experience you get what you pay for. Overall I have been very happy with the coverage and customer service I have received.

Never in my 53 years have I come across such a rude, curt agent purporting to represent my best…read moreinterests. My realtor referred me to Paul Badrock. First, he over-quoted me on standard policy for flood insurance, which should be the same price no matter which agent issues it. When I went with the agent with the lower price, same coverage, Paul said he was sorry that he "made a mistake" regarding the elevation of my home. Wanting to please my realtor, I went with Paul for my Homeowners-3 policy. However, when I phoned him at 6 p.m. one evening, he snapped at me for interrupting his dinner with his family. He was extremely brusque. He ended up apologizing for that outburst as well. Four months later, when I contacted Paul to ask about an auto insurance policy, he again snapped at me for resending an email about the discount involved with bundling that I never received his response on (I had waited a week). He angrily responded that he had already emailed me back, when, in fact, I had never received a response from him. It was shocking. His email tone and lack of formality was unusually irritable and unaccommodating for an agent. He is not professional or happy to assist, happy to answer questions, and he certainly becomes childlike when you inform him that you are shopping around. I do not recommend Mr. Badrock for any type of insurance policy, as he is, in my opinion, overly cranky, combative, and unworthy of anyone's business.

Paul always seems available to answer questions, process payments, and answer calls and emails. Paul also shops our rate automatically for us every year come renewal time.
