Man, when I tell you that this business showed off, they showed OFF! I needed my sunroom and kitchen floors done badly...badly yall. We had a terrible leak, from the sky light that got damaged. The leak ended up messing up the subflooring and carpet. So, we (husband and I,) called ourselves trying to fix it. We pulled the carpet up, and stuck sticky tiles on the damaged subfloor. We did it to buy us some time, but it wasn't worth it....especially since the dogs had made the sunroom their comfort zone. To top it off, one of our dogs is old, and would have an accident. So, her pee, seeped through the subfloor as well. The smell got to be too much. The kitchen floor, needed to be refinished. It was dull, uneven in color and lacked shine. My husband I, tried to scrub the years of wax buildup off, but ended up damaging the wood. I had decided that it was time, to get the sunroom taken care of. I couldn't take it anymore. I searched different businesses, but one caught my eye. I looked at the pictures here on Yelp, and I was sold on this business. I contacted the business, and Thai, got back with me almost immediately. I gave him a call, and he came by the same day. When Thai came by, he was very professional and passionate about his work. He told my husband and I the cost for the sunroom. I was convinced, by my husband, that we should do the kitchen floor too. So, that's what we did. When it was time to work, Thai and his brother was on time, honest, professional, knowledgeable, passionate, and knew their shiznit. They started on a Monday, and was finished by Wednesday (we couldn't walk on the floors until Thursday, becausethe wood needed to dry.) When I tell you they paid attention to detail, I mean it. Idlewood is a horrible company. The admin person that answers the phone should be fired. There customer service is non-existent. Getting someone to call you back to correct an issue is like pulling teeth. Everyone is always busy and they never call you back. Don't let Thai into your home, or you will be sorry. Thai will say anything to get the job, like, "You don't pay me until I do the job and make you happy. Then he will threaten to suit him if you don't pay him even if he doesn't finish the job. Thai and his crew improperly installed my hardwood floors. He only put a coat of stain and finish on over 6,000 sq ft of hardwood flooring. Thai said he used a two-in-one product on the floors and refused to come back and seal the floors. One week after installation, there are cracks between all my hardwoods the size of a quarter or more. I now have to spend over $100,000 pulling up the poorly installed floors and replacing them. I had a flooring inspector to come out and look at the floors. He confirmed with a doppler that Thai had only put a stain and finish on the floors, resulting in warping and cracking of all the flooring. On top of this, one of his employees stole my diamond wedding ring, a sapphire ring, two diamond bracelets, a solid gold bangle, a pair of emerald and diamond earrings, a vintage Movado watch that belonged to my late grandfather, and a Rolex watch totaling over $300,000. When I confronted Thai, he said, "Call the police"! His crew also damaged my window treatments, fireplace, kitchen cabinet, walls, and furniture. On top of all of this Thai refused to compensate me for my damaged and stolen property. I don't know how Thai got five-star reviews, but stay away from him, or you will regret it. That said to my husband, sue him if he wanted to, and he didn't care. Thai also said we would have to take him to court to resolve this matter and report the theft to the police if I have any hopes of getting my jewelry back. read more

We had Thai Nguyen and his crew from American Hardwood Floor Services sand and refinish our hardwood floors in the kitchen, dining room, and front hallway. This was a job that was long overdue and the floors, especially in the kitchen were in bad shape. We chose Thai and his company because of the great reviews we read online and we were not disappointed. Thai came out to look at our floors and give us an estimate. He was courteous and seemed very knowledgeable and passionate about his trade. We settled on the work to be done,an agreeable price (including some possible additional cost for floor repair), and a start date for the following week. Thai and his crew showed up when they said they would; they performed the agreed upon tasks in the time frame quoted without any additional charge for the minor repair; and they did great work. They sanded and stained the floors on the first day, applied a first coat of polyurethane on the second day, and then came back two days later to apply the final, heavier coat of polyurethane. We stayed in the house while the work was being done, with plastic sheets covering the doorways. Thai explained to us when we could walk on the floors and when we couldn't, to ensure proper sealing. I needed new wood floors (or so I thought). I had damage to the stair treads and damage to floor boards in several areas (due to dogs). I thought about covering with vinyl flooring. Thai took one look and said he could make the repairs and refinish the floors. He said everything would look brand new and that covering the wood with vinyl would be a mistake. Thai and team made the repairs and refinished the floors at fraction of what it would have cost me to replace (even if I replaced with vinyl). If someone tells you that you have to move everything out of your home to refinish, they are wrong.
