It's our 9th year as visitors to Pediatric Heart Care Partners. My son was born with a murmur, 2…read moreholes in his heart and we're down to 1 small one now. We visit to ensure his heart isn't being overworked and enlarging. He got another good report this year. Appointments are taken only by call in. Check in is daily simple. I typically have to fill out 15 minutes of paperwork and share my insurance card. A nurse begins with us each time to check blood pressure, weight and height. We then are taken to an exam room to wait for our doctor, Dr Boone. He conducts his own exam and then we visit the ultrasound room to measure dimensions of his heart and remaining hole. This year we had to head back for a second blood pressure check. My son's registered high multiple times during his appointment. We didn't have to make an official appointment, for this we could show up on our own time and request a check. There was quite a difference between our first visit and the second visit for the blood pressure check. For our first visit, I was told that anyone could come with my son and attend the full visit, like normal pre-Covid. When we arrived I noticed several staff members behind the counter we're not wearing mask and not socially distant either. While our nurse and the doctor wore masks, the doctor also put his hand out to shake ours. Again, not weird, just things that we were doing pre-Covid and it threw me for a loop because I have stopped shaking peoples hands. The second visit was much more what I expected at a doctors office now. Lots of signage on the door, a sign stating that a child could only have one person with them for the visit, everyone wearing mask, a nurse that came out to take both of our temperatures. I'm pleased to see that things have changed and it made me much more comfortable.

Many people get confused with what a stroke is, but in simple laymen terms, it is when there is an interruption in the flow of blood to the brain which can be due to thrombosis (blood clot). I suffered a stroke in 2013 and at the same time was diagnosed with a rare blood clotting disorder which affects only about 1000 Americans. Since 2013, I have suffered 4 - 5 TIA's and have been a patient of Frazier since 2015. I have found out that writing reviews on Yelp has been great for mental flexibility as well as just improving my own confidence and ability to convey the information as accurately as possible. The staff at Frazier is amazing and they offer several options to help patients recover from brain injury. The approach utilized is highly individualized to maximize information processing and positive motivation. They utilize several different approaches to help each individual overcome the personal challenges faced with after suffering a stroke. They also have therapists who offer counseling and cognitive behavioral therapy. These therapies help a patient feel better about themselves. The staff also does great at offering ways to help cope and deal with the daily demands of life and helps the patient slowly get acclimated again to the daily grind of life. I hope no one has to go through what I have gone through in terms of rehab, but if any family member or loved one has suffered a stroke and needs a place to go for rehab, definitely consider Frazier Rehab and make sure your doctor sends an order right away before it's too late.

Shamefully, I lived in Louisville for 8 years without having a primary care provider. I survived on…read moreover-the-counter meds, my gynecologist, and immediate care. Embarrassing millennial behavior, I know. Just one more thing to be fussed at about.... But aaaaanyway. Following a rough month a couple years ago, resulting in a diagnosis of strep throat, pneumonia AND mono...I knew I needed to find a PCP, but literally did not have the energy to lift a phone to my ear and remain conscious for more than 10 minutes at a time. My wonderful mother, who was taking care of me at the time, and who also works in health insurance, took on the task for me, calling around and making me a follow-up appointment with basically anyone who could see me in the right time frame. That is how we found Catherine Joaquin. I am completely fine with getting care from ARNPs. And I think I lucked out with CJ. She is friendly and kind, and certainly listens to me whenever I go in with a particular complaint. I have received good recommendations and referrals from the office when it was needed. I generally don't have to wait too long in the office when I have scheduled a visit. The office can be slightly difficult to find. My first couple of visits, I definitely got a bit lost in the Norton complex. But they have updated their signs and directories in that time, so it is easier than it used to be.

I love her "bedside manner" she is very professional but she knows how to treat her patient like a PERSON too!! I cannot say enough good things about this provider...I know some folks think ARNP's "don't count as a PCP/doctor" I would have to argue against that they have just as much schooling actually I think they might have MORE schooling...they are qualified and credentialed and this one in particular is just superb!

Dr Ferreira is the best bi lingual general practitioner. He is a master at his craft and makes me…read morehappy to see him when I come in for regular and emergency visits. I have a condition that means I must get my blood checked every 2 weeks to a month to make sure I'm ok. His staff knows me and knows what I usually need every time I come in. Upon my first visit he listened to my concerns and perform the tests I requested to figure out some issues I was having. He agreed and ran the tests to confirm what I thought was wrong and treated me accordingly. I appreciate his willingness yo go that extra mile for me and my husband! I would recommend him to anyone that is interested in taking responsibility for their health care and willing to work at getting healthy! He is encouraging and hopeful even when he has badish news to present. Anyone who only speaks Spanish will be heard and understood at this office. If you go here it may change your life! This practice was formerly called Family Physician Associates. In the past few years there have…read morebeen a number of changes. First instead of an independent primary care practice it became part of U of L Healthcare. With that change you don't always see the same faces on an ongoing basis in the front office or lab. Secondly there have been several retirements of long term doctors in the practice and also the nursing staff. There are still several doctors that remain from the previous practice but they don't seem to be doctoring on a full time basis. My doctor, Dr. Wallace is still part of the practice but he has also assumed a role in changing over to new computer systems so his time to schedule with patients is limited. There is still a fantastic and knowledgeable PA, Anna Barrickman. She use to handle walk ins in the morning and had some scheduled appointments. She has become so popular that she currently gets booked up fast. Walk in appointments are no longer sure to see her as there are others that treat walk ins. There are several new doctors to the practice and my opinion is still not formed. They may be too inexperienced to handle a patient with complex issues. I gave Dr Wallace a five star rating in the past but due to all the changes I can only give a three star rating to the practice as a whole.

The Take Care Clinic has become my go-to place for small medical issues like vaccines and minor…read moreillnesses or injuries because they have convenient hours and are cheap with a high deductible health plan. The nurse practitioners who staff the Take Care Clinic have always been extremely knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. My only complaint is that they often seem to spend far more time typing in the electronic medical record than providing actual medical care. Overall though a great place to get minor medical care.
