This is a nice black crappie caught from here. Catch and release.

Been coming here since I was a child. They've always kept us Park up nice. Lot of good memories here when they used to do the fireworks as well. Of course there's been homeless now tearing up the waters with trash. Which is so sad. We used to be able to eat the fish out of here. People are just mean and don't care. But it's still a beautiful Park and I highly recommend coming out here friends family and fun. Nice barbecues good place for children to play at the north side of the park. And they keep it clean. I wish they would do something about the water.

Beautiful new playground that was finished in March 2018

Pros: The new playground is beautiful and super fun for my son. We were so bummed when the last one burned down in July 2017, but this new one just went up in the past month and my two year old loves it! He especially loves playing on the huge xylophone. Lots of fun for the little one. Cons: I don't feel comfortable coming out here alone with my son because of some of the people hanging out in the park. I'll only take my son to the park if there's another adult with us. On any given day there are groups of 10+ people at the nearby tables smoking or just sitting around.

So beautiful here. As soon as we ( Jade Marie, my pit and I) pulled up , we were juiced. Look at all of this greenery. Jade stayed on leash and we just ran damn near everywhere. The body of water in the middle of the park must have fish in it. A couple of guys were fishing and they were hella cool. Theyre there everyday ( well that's what they said) and knew I wasn't from around here because they haven't seen me before. Lol. I chatted for a bit then back to seeing what this place offers. It offered alot for us. Even though its not an enclosed dog park, it's still a great place for a dog . Some dogs were off leash and I made sure we werent too close to them. You know people have an issue with pits. They think that they want to have them and their dog for dinner. Well news flash, she eats Taste of the Wild. So much space is avail for you to be kind of in your own area, without being in others space. We will be coming back at least 3 times a week. One thing I would of liked to see were some water fountains for the dogs. Perhaps they are there and I just didn't see them. But I will bring water and a bowl for my boo next time.

American Legion Park on Baker Pl in Stockton, California. I used to live down the street from here about four years ago. I would bring my children here to come and play when they were all younger. I have a lot of great memories at this park. We would get some crackers and feed the ducks in the little pond they have here. Have picnics and play in the playground. Now time is moving so fast and my youngest feels like she's to old to play at this park. Because the playground is built for the younger kids and my baby girl is a big girl now at age 9 :) Making beautiful memories everywhere we go is how we roll. Doing what this Daddy does best, spending time with my children. My children are my world and everything else in life is a bonus. Vincent D aka VD aka Vebola aka Vincent Vega. This park is quiet and a nice place to walk your dog. It is an urban park surrounded by a beautiful gentrified neighborhood. Lovely tree lined streets, well cared for homes from the 1920's-1940's. The Park is safe, full of trees a lake and you can wander off to the side streets and have no worries. Truly a bubble of beauty in the City of Stockton. A nice mile and a half walk to the University of the Pacific.

This is a well shaded park with play areas for kids, grass areas to sit and enjoy some fun family time. I haven't been here for years but it seems less crowed then most parks in the area so if you're looking for a safe shady park to enjoy a picnic or just hang out I would recommend trying it out. Also bring the fido because it is dog friendly with plenty of poop bag stations. I wonder how many people when the City held the 4th of July fireworks celebration at the park?

People leave their fish with the hooks in them. Be careful if you walk your dogs here

Playground was burned down again so there isn't much to do here unless you want to go for a walk with your dog or something.

Unfortunately, dog parents are not good about picking up after their dogs even though dog poop bags are provided along with plenty of trash cans throughout park. Also, some dog parents are not experienced so sometimes dogs will show dominance and not be corrected. It's unfortunate that a few bad people can ruin the experience for the rest of us considerate responsible dog owners!!

Things to like about Beckman Park as a dog park (big dog area): (1)HUGE. Your pup can run and run…read moreand run. (2) Shade. Plenty of trees on the upper areas of the park for those days when your pup wants to run but you want to loaf in the shade. (3) Huge. Yes, I know I already said it was huge, but it really is. (4) Poop bag dispensers near each of the entry gates. (5) Some users are good citizens - putting found toys (balls, discs, etc) near the gates for their owners to find, randomly filling the water bowls, etc. Things where Beckman Park could be better: (1) Both entries to the large dog area are single gates, so it's easy for dogs to slip past others trying to get in/out, and escape out to the street. (2) The poop bag dispensers are not always stocked, so bring a bag or two of your own, just in case. (3) Some dog owners do not pick up after their dogs, so lawn grenades can be a problem. (4) The park is bisected into an off-leash area and a leashed area, but the dividing line is not fenced. It IS marked by a sign, but my dog can't read. (5) There is no water available in the big dog area for dogs. Hence, the good citizens who provide water randomly. Most of the owners - and dogs - using this park are friendly and easy going. If your dog gets a little rambunctious, a sincere apology is usually all it takes to clear the air. Dogs being dogs, they like to sniff each others' butts and chase each other around, and most owners seem to understand that.

This is the designated dog side. To the left (south side of the park) are soccer fields where dogs are not allowed off leash.
