Nice park for a bbq get together but you gotta get there early to get the one area picnic area. The tennis courts are nice but used for other sport activities which is annoying when you want to use it. The bathrooms can be cleaner but it's a park. read more

A friend just introduced me to this park and prior to that I can only think of of a handful of Stockton parks that I would be interested in spending time at. This place is a hidden gem! There is a cute playground area, lush places to picnic with plenty of shade, it's dog friendly and you can take a long walk back behind the park on the levee that has some great scenery. The walk is quite close to neighboring houses and people don't seem to remember to pick up their dogs feces but overall this is a great little park and I would really recommend it for families wanting to get out and spend some time together to relax and/or play. read more

Love this park so much. It's the only park I feel safe at walking at any time of the day. There's so many events that go on here! - the same dudes playing basketball LITERALLY on the daily. - soccer practices - football practices - baseball/softball practices - parties under the big gazebo thing - the AWESOME dog park! - running on the trail along the delta Things to be aware of! - if you're gonna have a party here, clean up after yourself. You're adults. - running on the trail, there are garter snakes here (comes in black and yellow, and also tan/brown)! They are NOT NOT NOT poisonous. Just go around them! - if you bring kids into the dog park, stay near them as not ALL dogs are children friendly While I love this park tons (because I don't feel safe at the park near my house due to lunatics), I wish people had common sense! Clean up after yourselves. This park was meant for everyone to feel safe to run around freely. We can't do that trampling over your three day old trash in the grass. Keep Stockton clean and friendly. Otherwise, don't expect Stockton to get any better if you can't make it better. read more

Good for a walk though it's only about 2 miles. It's blocked of and is not paved at a point beyond a gate you come to at the west end. It be great if dog owners picked up after their pets. Way too much dog mess on the trail and in the park. You literally have to watch your step even looking ahead doesn't help. It's ridiculous but the only thing that bothers me. Also, I've never had any issues but you should be aware that there's an encampment beyond the water. It's entry is on the Trinity parkway side at the curve of the trail. Again, never had an issue, the people are usually minding their own business from what I've noticed. However, can never be too careful. Always be aware of your surroundings. read more

Great dog park with a separate section for little dogs - where the fence is buried in the ground and there are no gaps through which a small dog can escape! It was perfect for us while we were traveling with our 27 & 13 pound dogs. The 1 picnic table and new drinking fountain are nice. It's pretty small though, I imagine it gets crowded when it's nice out. Be warned: it's closed on Monday mornings for Park maintenance. read more

Very nice and clean park. We got a good spot, in the back area of the park, back behind the basketball courts. There were enough trees to provide plenty of shade for us and it was the perfect day to be at a park all day. Weather was so nice. There were other parties happening and a lot of people but no problems at all. I didn't use the restroom but others at the party did and they said the restroom was clean. We used the grill and table which were clean and there was a trash nearby. This is was my second time attending a birthday party at this park and both times were good experiences. My son enjoyed himself, playing basketball, football, in the playground and then basketball again. 12 year old boys tend to get bored easily but my son and the other kids were able to stay active and have a good time. read more

Park is split in two sides - one for small dogs and one for large dogs. The park is the best for winter time as it drains really well and isn't too muddy/wet even after recent rains. Water fountains, bench/tables, and doggie poop bags are provided. I enjoy this space for training with my Siberian Husky as the park isn't too busy and training is easy without distractions. If you're looking for a busy park for socialization this might not be the space you want to go to. Only down side is the parking. The park is located toward the far back of the overall park... it's a bit hidden and you have to walk to it no parking right by it. read more

Review is for the dog park only: The major pro for this park is that it does have a big open space for the big dogs However, The water fountain was broken and all the dogs were very hot and panting. There is hardly any shade available. There was poop ALL over, so apparently nobody cleans up after their dog. And last but not least, it's quite a hike to get to the dog park no matter where you park your car. It's all the way in the back corner across a big grassy plain. I wouldn't have even come here, but the Puppy was going crazy when we should up to our favorite spot (Barkley) to see that it was closed for repairs from a car accident into the fence. read more

This park has Barely any shade. Until the last year this park used to be pretty clean. Now there is always litter in the bark and in the picnic areas. There are two playgrounds. One for 2-5 ages and one for 5-14 ages. The smaller one has unsafe handrails for the little kids. Instead of the typical vertical bars that prevent kids from falling off while walking up the stairs they have two largely spaced horizontal bars. My son has fallen through them and landed on his shoulder and head he is 3 years old. There also use to be a water play area but that was turned off a long time ago. Every time I have taken my daughter to the bathroom it is always littered. The dog park is a decent size and ok, but again barely any shade. read more

My only gripe is, I just wish the dog park was open. It's got a chain around the gate. Dogs do not get COVID. They need socialization and exercise just like humans and will get anxious and become destructive when they are not. In a dog park, people generally stay way more than 6 feet apart to give everyone ample space to give the dogs their space. This park is great! They have a playground for little and big kids. Lots of grass, lots of tables, and walkways for riding bikes. A little water park that's fun too! My only complaint is it's pretty run down with a cracked slide (someone tried to duct tape it) and broken playground spots. read more

I love the park, don't get me wrong. The maintenance staff could definitely work on keeping the poop bags filled as there was one week where they weren't filled at all. (Maybe I just came at a bad time) But that's hardly an issue as I keep spares with me just in case. My issue is if your dog is NOT FRIENDLY with other dogs, please either keep it on a leash or don't bring it inside!! I was working off leash inside the dog park with my shepherd. When I see a woman with her hyper and hard pulling pit bull approaching the park. For mine and my dogs safety I put the leash back on my dog. And it's a good thing I did because as soon as the woman entered, she let her dog loose, and that's when he made a B-line for my dog and began barking aggressively and lunging and nipping at my dog. I lifted my dog to keep his face out of the way and tried my hardest to maintain space, but it got to the point where I had to kick her dog and whip it with the end of my leash to get it off of mine. I have nothing against pit bulls don't get me wrong. But if your dog cannot behave or attacks another dog on site, being off leash in a dog park is not a good idea. I'm glad my dog maintained his composure and listened, otherwise it might not have gone off so smoothly... if it can even be called smooth. read more

This is a nice park to go to in the Spanos Park West area. It has basketball and tennis courts, 2 dog parks and Frisbee golf. You can also take the walk away along the levee to go jogging. If you just want to host a picnic, bbq or party the park also has an area where you can host it. read more
