I can't say the bathrooms are super clean but there are a lot of people there almost every night. They are stocked though. Retired Army here. My son was traveling back from a college visit and they would not let him use…read morethe lounge to wait for his ride. The attendant was very rude and impatient and told him the USO was "for Active Duty only." When he showed his dependent ID card the attendant still refused to let him come in. He frequently travels to and from the Richmond airport and has frequently used the USO lounge. I think some retraining is needed.

Luckily RMHR had some open space and we were allowed to stay during the duration of our little guys recovery. The staff is very friendly and the facilities very clean. They help families here by providing meals and a caring environment . The house rules are reasonable and common sense - no alcohol, no visiting guests during Covid , clean up after yourself, be respectful to other guest during quiet hours, etc. The house is a big help to us as our little guy's hospital stay will likely put a ding in our wallets. Their charity will greatly help us out financially since we don't have to get a hotel on our own. They recommend but don't require a suggested $15/night donation to the charity which I feel is more than fair. Thank you, Ronald McDonald House Richmond!

You never know what you are going to find, but if you spend $20 you get a LOT of stuff. Sometimes the staff can be a little surly l, but overall it's worth a visit. Caution: 1. Wear gloves because sometimes you touch things you don't want to... needles and used breast pumps. 2. The shoppers are not very courteous. Many people buy stuff there and resell it because it is so cheap. It is their livelihood and they protect the stuff they put their hands on first. This is most evident when they bring out a new bin. The rule is you can not touch the bin until it is fully in its place.

I contacted them several days in advance to voice my concerns, in an effort to limit their likely loss around the event, and be able to reschedule. They stated a desire to wait, it turns out until 3 hours before the event, maximizing the financial impact of the decision on their business and their customers. While they offer a 50% future credit, I was forced to decide between dining in a natural disaster vs being out $150. Ironically, those who tipped more lost out on more money. I contacted them to address my concerns, and they ghosted me. They do not insure their events, so in the event of a natural disaster, your pre-paid event (Wedding, Business event, workout, dinner) is your responsibility and you will be out your money.
