I put 1- pair pants, 3- shirts, 2- skirts, 1- church dress all for a 8 year old girl. Then I put in 1- pair pant, 1- skirt, 1- vest, 1- bow tie for a 22month old boy. My order cost $119.54, her dress cost $21.73 only. The children discount disappeared without any notice. I feel as if Puritan no longer care about their client. I love the Neighborhood Resource Center of Greater Fulton Hill. I have been volunteering there on…read moreand off for several years. They do a lot of great work, lots of stuff I don't even know about I'm sure. Just to cover some of the basics though - they do homework tutoring for children every school day, have children's classes and programs pretty much every day, have a sliding scale Montessori preschool, have classes for adults including GED training and recreational things like dance and yoga, a recording studio, an organic garden, a farm stand, a coffee bar serving Tall Bike Coffee from Lamplighter, a kitchen with vegan cooking classes, a computer lab, a satellite center for homework tutoring in a nearby apartment complex, they do a 5k/10k Hill Run every October, assist people in finding jobs, and that's just scratching the surface. They are always adding new facilities and programs. Very inspiring little place created by residents of Fulton Hill for residents of Fulton Hill.

There is a drive-through and as I pulled up, staff came out to help me unload. Receipts are optional (and obvi may take them some time to arrange). The whole process only took about 5 minutes! The location is pretty convenient too - its pretty close to Costco and New Grand so perfect for errands! If you come according to Google maps, it will bring you to the back but their signs were very clear regarding where to drop off stuff.

Luckily RMHR had some open space and we were allowed to stay during the duration of our little guys recovery. The staff is very friendly and the facilities very clean. They help families here by providing meals and a caring environment . The house rules are reasonable and common sense - no alcohol, no visiting guests during Covid , clean up after yourself, be respectful to other guest during quiet hours, etc. The house is a big help to us as our little guy's hospital stay will likely put a ding in our wallets. Their charity will greatly help us out financially since we don't have to get a hotel on our own. They recommend but don't require a suggested $15/night donation to the charity which I feel is more than fair. Thank you, Ronald McDonald House Richmond!

The front desk lady wasn't the friendliest, but I let it go after I saw how much fun my baby was having in the pool. Their hours are weird & they close way too early. So, call them before driving there to make sure they are open. The pool goes to 10 feet too. My son & his dad love it though, so I recommend them.

They provide breakfast and lunch for only $35 a week. Each week has a theme, i.e. Aquatics, Arts, Outdoors. They go on trips to Pocahontas State Park, VMFA, a Flying Squirrels game, and others. My daughter really enjoys it and it keeps her occupied during the summer!

Each day they host about 150 people from around the world. The Doorways relies heavily on donations and volunteers. Their are plenty of volunteer opportunities and my friends and I chose to provide and serve a meal. Their front desk staff was super informative and very welcoming. Their kitchen was huge and provided everything we needed to make dinner for the guest. We chose to do burgers; turkey burgers; green beans; baked beans; assorted chips and fresh salad. We did need to bring all of the food to be cooked and any additional or specialty seasoning we wanted to use. The kitchen had 4 of everything (stove, fridge, microwave, etc.) after preparing the meal you serve dinner to the residents around 6:30pm. Now cooking with my friends was so much fun but the highlight was definitely meeting the residents. All walks of life and just thankful for another day. This was such an rewarding feeling and we met some amazing guest. Mr Bryan, a resident there kept us laughing with his great spirit and personality. If you are looking for an opportunity to volunteer in Richmond Va I would highly suggest spending some time at The Doorways! I'm looking forward to returning.

No one is obligated to pay for the stay. A donation of $15.00 is recommended but no one is turned down for lack of funds. Volunteers come during the week and prepare home cooked meals free of charge! I am grateful for those that work here and the service provided.

You may want to research other thrifts in the area. This location also does financial assistance. The phone calls are only taken on Mondays at 8:30 a.m. They only help with rent that is only a month over due, Dominion Energy, gas and oil. They help with wood during winter months. There is a high volume of calls so you have to remain patient. Dial 0 to get directly to operator because it will incorrectly tell you to dial a 1 or some other number. If applying for DE (Dominion Energy) or gas financial assistants please have the account number ready to give to receptionist when you call it makes the process smoother. They usually have funding for the city of Richmond only but occasionally there is funding for both Chesterfield county and Henrico county.
