I officiated a wedding at the Elks Lodge recently for a close family friend. At first glance, the…read morelodge does not look like the place you would have a fancy party, but there is so much potential if you have the time and patience to work with the venue. The views from the back of the lodge are breathtaking. There is an area where wedding ceremonies take place that looks out into the beautiful mountains. It really is gorgeous. The main hall is a nice size. You can easily fit 150 probably up to 250. I am not sure what the actual limit is. Or friend's wedding had just over 100 and there was a ton of room. During the rehearsal (3pm) and on the night of the wedding, there were deer that came down into the fields....so beautiful. The staff said they deer are regularly there every afternoon. The Food Our friend's wedding was buffet style and the food was good. We had a chicken Alfredo pasta, salad, mac and cheese, and bread service. There was a cash-only bar that according to my wife, had good drinks. The Staff The only member of the staff that I worked with was Linda. She was amazing and was so patient with our party. I believe she is one of the head members at the Elk's club, and she really just tried to make the best out of every situation on the day of the wedding. We had a few schedule issues that came up and she did great working with all the different personalities. Overall, depending on the vibe you are looking for with your event, the Elks Lodge is a good choice. There is a ton of parking, the offer food and all of the table and chair rentals are included.

The staff is always friendly and the people in the bar are mostly locals. They do not sell food, but the prices for drinks are great, again small town. The upstairs is a big dance floor with another bar which is only used during events like weddings and dances, It is located right next to the cemetery and 99% of the time after a military funeral the legion will be packed and have a pot luck. Residences are spacious, luxurious and fully stocked. My unit in particular (Hogan) had bakeware, board games, an Apple TV, baby walker & 4 fireplaces. Clubhouse amenities are limited due to Covid but you can still order breakfast at the restaurant. Housekeeping is currently every other day. We had the in villa massages and I would definitely recommend them if you want to treat yourself. Countless golf courses & hiking trails nearby. A lot of dining options ranging from special occasion to casual a short drive away. You definitely need a car because it is a little isolated but worth it. Seeing wildlife from our "spool" (aka hot tub) really made the trip. We were very comfortable here and I wouldn't hesitate to return again.

I joined this club almost 2 years ago and have to say it's been the best decision I've ever made in…read moremy life. Being newly single, I found that my married friends weren't including me in their activities. I was bored and wanted things to do. I also liked the idea of meeting potential dates. Since joining, I have made so many friends, male and female. They have become my support network. I've done so many amazing things and crossed items off my Bucket List...windtunnel skydiving, kayaking, trapeze lessons, to name a few. I learned that I love playing volleyball and have since joined a competitive league. I still love playing with my A2K friends the best because they are a fun and supportive group, and we laugh so much when we're together. We love meeting new people as they join our group. We are sad to see some leave, but that's usually because they have met someone special and that's a good thing too. I haven't met the love of my life yet, but when I do, I hope he will join the club so we can share the fun adventures together. This week, many of our friends are on an Alaskan Cruise. Those of us who chose to stay behind will be having fun as well with a comedy club, Karaoke, a hike, and night golf. There's never a dull moment!

Jayson, the group's organizer, makes everyone feel welcome and has a gift for remembering people's names. He is not just gifted when it comes to people's names, he successfully gathers large groups of people for movies and other events and negotiates discounts at restaurants after the movie. On a side note, last time I was there, I was having a bad day due to a flaky friend cancelling at the last minute for meeting up with me. While I initially felt angry, his words of encouragement made me feel better.
