Post 289 is located right on Buchanan Ave in Riverside but it might as well be Corona. Post 289 has its own parking lot. It's not very big and there's no markings for spaces so you just kind of go with the flow. The show was outdoors in their spacious patio. While inside I definitely observed that there were a lot of regulars. This is like a neighborhood watering hole but one in which you'll need a membership to access the cheap booze. That said I never felt uncomfortable or like an outsider. The folks there were very friendly. The show itself was great, especially the Radolescents playing their classic Blue Album in its entirety. Sound was really good and I didn't need my earplugs because it wasn't stupid loud. Casey Royer and Rikk Agnew were hanging out with the crowd so it's felt like an old school punk rock show. Unfortunately one guy was very much over-served and was probably annoying some of the bands. Would I return to Post 289 for a show? Absolutely. They have them sporadically but you have to kind of get lucky. I found this show by accident and it wasn't promoted very well (hence the unfortunate low turnout). As a matter of fact Post 289 has zero posts on their IG. Maybe Facebook is better (of which mine is deleted). Until next time, Post 289!

It was just an insane experience a friend of mine put together a networking event for designers, etc. and Moe came in there and was just telling everyone to get the fuck out and he snatched the microphone out of this woman's hands while she was trying to make the announcement for people to leave because he was unhappy, but the venue was professionally the event was very calm, relaxed, and everyone was happily networking. There was nothing wrong going so came in and started shouting and cursing, and snatched the microphone out of her hands, which was insane. He yelled in her face like an abusive man.

Very professional and friendly. I had emailed over a list of music to play throughout the night as a guideline and she stuck to it but also had remixed versions of some of my favorites which made it more fun. Throughout the night she remained professional (in the past I'd witness DJs at events act like fools near the end of the night. not good.) and pleasant to my guests. All my guests commented on how fab the music was, it definitely added to my event. I also had Nguyen along with Tessa deejay a corporate holiday event. Again, arrived on time and remained professional throughout the night. They were able to read the crowd (ages ranged from 30-60 yrs of age!) and kept the dance floor going - everyone happy and having fun. Tessa was also a great emcee when needed - she spoke clearly and projected! From set up to breakdown - they were fantastic! I highly recommend Blackbook Social Club for all your party/event needs!!

Every Monday at 7, the Organizers host a run that begins and ends at a great local brewery. It's usually a 5k and the course is typically in a rectangle around many streets, so those wanting to do a shorter run can cut it shorter by taking an earlier turn. Here's how it goes. Many people of all shapes, sizes and running abilities, some with dogs, some with kids, some by themselves and some with larger subgroups all gather at whatever brewery the run is planned at. How do they find out about it? They see the venue and usually the planned running course on Instagram. So all these people show up and then the Organizers make a couple announcements/comments on the route. Then we all take a group picture and we're off. The energy is palpable and the vibe is amazing. You run as part of a pack, but everyone settles into whatever pace is right for them and the clump of runners spread out as time passes. Everyone is SO nice and neighbors in the area tend to smile when they see 100+ people running happily down the road. When the run is done, most everyone orders a beer and/or food. You definitely don't have to drink, but a craft beer tastes really good after a nice 5k. This group also does a smaller run on Thursdays. I hear they are often a trail run but I've never been to one. We've been on 2 runs with OC Craft Runners and LOVE everything about it. The runners are so kind and welcoming. The energy is infectious. And we loved bringing our son, who ran the first mile with us and then climbed in his stroller to get pushed the rest of the way. We would go every week, but 7pm is tough now that school has started. We will definitely be back!
