I went in to get my nose piercing put back in and oh my was the girl behind the counter RUDE. She treated me like I was an inconvenience, not a paying customer. I wasn't asking for a work of art, just to get MY nose ring (from Zales, a sapphire set in platinum) put back in after a medical procedure. I was informed "they don't allow outside jewelry" ok that's fine... But let's face it what I have is 100 times nicer then anything they had. I haven't been in a lot of tattoo parlors but I liked this place. It looked clean & neat. The staff was friendly. If I wasn't a wuss I'd totally trust them to take care of me if I wanted something done. Make an appointment! You can't just walk in & expect the person who does your piercings or tattoos to be there just because they're open. Robin (or Robyn. You never know how people spell their names nowadays) pierces. I walked in the door an was greeted by a rude overweight woman who treated me like I had the plague or something. I asked briefly about custom ink and what they charge and she responded by saying there's no way to fathom the cost of such a piece and made me feel stupid for asking. Anyways, I still see her smoking outside so I know she still works there. Nice place, friendly atmosphere, got me in last minute. Appointment was for 530 , we did paper work and got started with drawing it up around 6 and we were done around 745. When we started Dru said "we are looking at a couple hundred dollars" and I replied "yeah I expect around $250-300. Then when we actually started the tattoo he said it'd probably be more like $300, which was a bit expensive, but okay. When the piece was finished he said the total would be $600. Baffled, I asked for clarification, and he said "yeah, $120 an hour " again baffled we said we'd only been there for 2ish hours. Anyway, we ended up paying $360 which was way more than it's worth. Don't get me wrong, it's a sick piece, but Dru tried to scam hard core. My sister got a few hours of work done with Neeko and only was charged $200. So it's lame, he tried to take advantage of me because it's one of my first pieces and I don't know the ropes, so glad I had my sister there looking out and calling bullshit. read more

My sister and I are in town visiting and we only have one day left in Montana, so of course we wanted to get matching tattoos. We walked in and was welcomed and treated well. They were pretty busy, and we were kind of unsure of exactly what we wanted. Phil was very patient and gave us his advice. He did not try and scam us on the price of the tattoos like a lot of shops we're use to do. Both of us felt very comfortable with him during the process and the time went by pretty quickly because he was super friendly. I started getting dizzy in the beginning and asked him to stop for a second. He had me sit down, handed me water, and a candy bar and made sure I was okay. Best shop in missoula, hands down. I've worked with Phil a few times and seen him interact with his coworkers and other patrons and he's been unfailingly professional, respectful and competent. He has a no judgment attitude about his work and he is one of the most skilled tattoo artists I've ever met. I plan on going back many more times!! Cory was supposedly nice enough to fit me in to get a small heart tatoo, but after hearing how small my husband suggested I get the lettering done, Cory got super peeved and basically ridiculed my husband and stomped off.
