Brandon was wonderful through the entire process. I had a major mold problem in my attic. I had received 3 quotes and his quote was not the highest or the lowest, but I found it to be more than fair for the amount of work he was going to do. The mold in the attic was disgusting. The entire attic sheathing was covered in black mold. American Mold Remediation was the only company that told me that they could remove the staining 100%. The other two contractors said it was impossible to remove the staining and not too worry about it. Brandon Explained that if the staining is still visible that the mold is still present and not fully removed. He also explained that it is impossible to tell if there is new mold growth occurring if the mold was not fully removed and seemed concerned about my property. He is very knowledgable and found some problems that the other 2 contractors missed. He also made great recommendations and I decided to let him treat the attic like it was his own home. American Mold were the only contractors that recommended removed the insulation in the attic. They explained to me that the mold spores settle into the insulation and the insulation was over 60 years old containing 60 years of dust, mice feces, dust and who knows what else. He said it makes his job harder by removing the insulation but it is the right thing to do. They removed and replaced all of the insulation in my attic. American Mold installed a foam insulation spray approximately 1 inch thick and then fiber glass insulation on top. They also discovered some major mold problems underneath the insulation and had to remove some black mold they found on the actual drywall when they removed the insulation. If they didn't remove the insulation this would have been left untouched. They also unclogged all of the soffit vents in the attic. My attic is now a lot more comfortable and looks great. The second floor is much more comfortable as the ventilation correction and new insulation was most certainly the best decision I could have made. The whole process took 3.5 days but the extra time was worth it. The other companies told me they would finish in 1 day, but now after watching and understanding what goes into mold remediation, i realize that it is impossible to complete a project as important as mold remediation in just 1 day. I have to say I was very surprised by the reviews on this site. American Mold took our basement from a place I didn't like to stand in for more than 5 minutes to a place I did not recognize. We bought a house that needed a tremendous amount of work. The basement flooded with every rain, the wood finished basement walls were rotting and place was covered with filth. We got a quote from Brandon in January 2014. The closing was complicated because it involved family members and we brought Brandon in a year later. The price remained the same and the amount of work increased because there were so many unknowns hidden behind walls. It did start out as a 3 day job and took over a week...but we weren't complaining when we saw the transition. And who doesn't want more than they pay for. His workers are very hard working and take on tasks you could not pay me to do. The crawl space under the kitchen was horrid and now it sparkles with a coat of paint and a vapor barrier over the dirt floor. The work included a full basement gut and mold detox, interior French drain installation and a bathroom demo and mold treatment. They had to remove the entire bathroom floor because of water damage. It you are willing to wait for them to have time to do the work and you are patient related to schedule you will get a great finished project. Our house smelled so bad from years of water infiltration, pipes leaking and dogs that went to the bathroom wherever the hell they pleased. I could barely walk past the bathroom with the door shut and the basement wreaked every time the humidity spiked or it rained. The smell is now gone. I think no one is happier than my boyfriend because the first night I stayed in the house after the work was completed I spent a ton of time in the basement and did 5 loads of laundry instead of sending him down there. Brandon is extremely knowledgeable and yes he is also very laid back. If you are concerned about what molds are in the house have it tested and have it tested again once they are done to confirm the mold is gone.
