American helped me move locally in Boulder County. The movers were efficient, timely and friendly, but items were damaged in the move. I purchased their insurance for the move administered by Moving Claim Services of Malden, MA. Do not buy their insurance. Moving Claim Services denied my claims because they were discovered after the move, after boxes were unpacked. According to Moving Claim Services, you must document all damaged items prior to the movers leaving your property or you will not receive coverage. Moving Claim Services will not consider any special circumstances and American Moving management won't make good. Avoid. read more

I used them last January for my move into a mid-rise apartment. The move was relatively uneventful, the two movers were very friendly, and nothing got damaged. They had the mid-rise move (elevator and long hallway) down to a science...truly! I really didn't realize how much more efficient they were until last weekend when I used another moving company to move me out of said mid-rise apartment into a home. That other company was, by far, the worst experience that I've ever had in the 6+ times using movers. They moved the exact same stuff in WAY more time, damaged items/walls, and were the rudest employees that's I've ever dealt with in Colorado. I was extremely impressed by this crew. I've moved a lot for work over the years, and I usually hire local companies to supply a couple guys to load the big stuff into my truck. These guys were great. And the precision with which they packed my truck made my jaw drop, literally. I had a 1000 sq ft apartment, and a 16 food truck. But lots of big stuff. Because of a disability I needed them to move boxes/furniture to specific rooms and they did all of it without fail. They were also easy to work with - a sense of humor is most necessary when moving. Great Moving Company. I have used their services twice. Once for my daughters move from Broomfield to Estes Park. They were great, on time, and very careful will her items. This was a move from a 3 BR/ 2 Bath townhome to a townhome in Estes. Nothing was damaged. I also used their services to move a resident from one apartment to another. Eduardo and the team were great! They arrived on time, were very efficient but were also very careful. The moved an entire home in one day without any damage to any items, and no scuffed walls at either location. The weather was not good (rain turning to snow), but the moving team did a great job laying down runner mats and plastic to make sure that they did not track this through either house. was bit skeptical about hiring a moving service however my girlfriend and I had no other choice but to hire someone to help. We were swarmed with calls from moving businesses. I had quotes from as little as $1300 to $2000. My girlfriend and I decided to call the ones in our budget. These people are Theives, they moved me from Salt lake City to republic Missouri and all I had was problems from day 1. I actually used a place out of Florida called Gold standard relocation run by a punk named Jimmy Piper and he contracted Out to American movers who actually did the moving. A man named MARTIN was the one who showed up with a couple of movers and the we're 4 hours late and kept making excuses they finally moved all my things and made it to Missouri. They unloaded these items in my garage but I didn't unpack them until over a month later that's when I realized some Things we're missing damaged or stolen, I contacted them and they wouldn't help, even though it was insured they said it was only for 30 days Jimmy Piper would not return my calls and they refused to help in anyway. This is a top review for a service that was NEVER provided! We were in a bind, using a Bekins mover from Chicago to Boulder, and having the delivery at risk due to our new home potentially not receiving Certificate of Occupancy. We had to create a Plan B to store our goods until CO. I spoke directly with Brian and his service was EXCEPTIONAL. He was understanding of the potential last minute decision, and gave a heads up to the warehouse, as our CO was going to be last minute. Gabrielle and his team are FANTASTIC! We had bought some couches from a local store. The store's movers had been trying to get these large couches into our third floor flat and no matter how hard we tried they wouldn't fit up either flight of stairs. I called another moving company asking if they had a crane... and they didn't. That other company referred us to American Moving and they said they could get the job done!!! To start from the beginning, we also had great service and communication with the company before they showed up as well. Shawny (might be spelled wrong) was super helpful on the phone and gave us lots of useful information and confirmation calls to make sure that our time and date of pick up were correct. Then this morning Gil called me from the truck just to let me know that they were on their way so I knew when exactly to expect them. When they got to my place they were super friendly and got down to business quick. They asked questions about what should stay or go and made sure they documented things they were boxing and things that were damaged (that I had previously damaged) to make sure all records were accurate. For two guys they did the job pretty quick and then explained the paperwork for me to sign, then they were gone! Had a great experience with American Moving & Storage. Dan came out to our house and helped estimate what our move would cost. Having never hired movers, I just had no idea where to start. I enjoyed that it was based on actual time spent vs a fixed fee. Although I knew it ahead of time, I didn't appreciate that the clock started when they left the office and ended when they got back. I liked that Nick came to my house for the estimate, all of the others just did the estimate on the phone which can leave you wondering how much you'll really end up paying. They were very clear on what they would move and what would cost extra. The free used boxes were great, all I needed to buy was a roll of their packing paper, markers and tape. Our move was local. On the day of the move, our team of 5 really worked their buns off. They were never grumpy and were kind when we changed our mind on the placement of furniture several times. Thank you to Jordan, Andy and Hayden! They moved us back into our house after a massive remodel. I have brand new hardwood floors throughout and my walls are freshly painted. I was totally freaked out about my new floors and when I told them about how worried I was they completely covered the floors with blankets before they moved my furniture into the house. They were very efficient in emptying my storage unit and moving the stuff into my house. My floors were 100% protected and I'm so happy! There was just one minor mishap, someone hit a wall in my sunroom with a small side table. My sunroom is painted a dark blue so the ding is very noticeable. I didn't find it until after the movers had left. Luckily for me, my contractor was at the house on moving day and he repaired the ding and the painters are going to repaint the area. read more
