Worked with Kevin Moser for two weeks on farm and bed and breakfast insurance. Total came to $4000. Immediately I just needed general liability in order to attend farmers markets. Received a competitive quote of $79/month, filled out and signed all paperwork, then he came back and said the price had actually doubled and I needed to fill out the paperwork again. I inquired why, took him 5 days to respond, 3 days away from the first farmers market, and he said he made a mistake. This after repeatedly letting him know I only needed general liability to attend farmers markets at the moment. How do you mess this up. Stay away!! This is one of the worst companies I have had the displeasure of working with. This is in regards to their disability insurance. Submitted my claim after I had back surgery and then got Covid. I was out of work for 29 days. They stated that wasn't long enough and would not pay anything on the claim. Their representative initially contacted me to clarify dates and asked me to send her discharge paperwork, which I did, and she said she would review it and get back to me. Not surprisingly this took weeks and I had to reach back out and she told me it was denied. Conveniently when I responded the same day, she's out of the office. I've been paying on my policy every month for years. Very disgusting how they treat long term customers during a pandemic . I suggest reading reviews from all platforms. It's bad. Stay away from this insurance company! I had my house, car and life insurance through them for 20 years and never made a claim until this year when my house was hit by hail and damaged the roof. After filing a claim I was told they would only cover 37% of the damage. After giving this company money for 20 years and being a loyal customer this is how they will treat you. We've been with ANPAC for almost over nine years and our first seven were great. Our original agent was always a phone call or email away. He retired and moved to a different state to be closer with his grandkids and family. From there it was all downhill. We didn't even know we had a new agent until we tried multiple times to reach our original agent. There was a point in time where we tried communicating with our "new" agent but she wasn't great with responding to emails or returning phone calls. I even went ahead and requested a new agent due to the lack of communication with the "new" agent. After a little over a year, we finally got tired of playing phone tag and decided it was time to let go of their mediocre service. Surprise, surprise, apparently we were in limbo since we requested for a new agent earlier in the year but never received a confirmation on who our new agent was. I was a client for a few years and I had traded in my Hyundai for a Subaru Wrx in beginning of 2022 I called and told American National main line I needed full coverage for a day for the swap of a device from old car to the new and once the swap was complete I had traded in the Hyundai for the Wrx and as far as I knew that was me telling my insurance company I traded my car in and then 3 months later because i make my payments automatically I didnt know they had been carging me for the old car and my new car was not being covered then my banks 3rd party insurance Allied forced their insurance on me, $3000!!! on top of me already paying full coverage for a car i didnt have! Instead of backdating it and fixing the whole mess they gave me $500 back not all the money i had paid them and i took what i could at the time not knowing the extent of how them not switching the kind of car out is all they had to do and they refuse costing me $3000 more on top of a $40k car. First-They've DRASTICALLY increased their auto prices over the last 7y we've had them...I've complained every year and miraculously they find another "discount" to drop it back a few $ but overall, they're auto is getting pretty expensive... Second- I had to "fire" my original agent due to is lack of customer service and general knowledge about the policy. I've now had one of the "managers" as my agent due to the continuous problems and me threatening to leave...so far the manager is a much better customer service guy; however, not a fan of the company anymore: We claimed an at fault accident at less than 2mph "bump" at a stoplight. Company did not receive a statement from us. Last notification was "we cannot get a hold of the other party so if no response in 30d we will drop the case." That's last we heard! Next renewal there was a point on policy and when calling they stated "we paid out $3k; $1100 was rental". Oh my!!!!! We have pictures of her car how damaged it was on every panel--the bumper was already damaged on all sides. They NEVER asked us for any information. We told them they got "swindled" and now we are paying for it. The damage was far less than $500. The so-called "customer service rep" named Kevin (I believe) was a straight @sshole--I don't know how he can call himself a "customer service" guy with his smart statements of "no you can't talk to my supervisor, you are only talking to me.." and so much more I can't type it all. In the end, their lack of follow up with their own customer cost them some $ so we dropped 4 of 5 vehicles from them (left 1 because they currently hold our home ins until I can find another company). That was just the LAST issue. I've claimed a comprehensive on my vehicle just a year prior to the above issue. They required so much from the poor shop I felt horrible. We have rental. The shop finished but we were out of town (not with the rental!). They "demanded" we return the rental "NOW" or we will be charged. It was a horrible experience and day. We got the rental back with a lot of assistance. They nit-picked the car so bad that the comp damage wasn't even completed correctly! The shop had to keep my car another 4 days for painting! I don't even want to find out what will happen with a house claim...I'm just going to leave. I feel like I am calling them every year for something and its absolutely ridiculous. read more

American National did a complete medical evaluation through their own medical company before issuing the policy. American National Insurance is trying to avoid paying the claim. They are searching for any medical history re my father in an attempt to deny the claim. My father was in excellent health. He never had any medical issues. I've had 5 agents in the last two years for no reason that I'm aware of on my end. I just get a notice in the mail and a new policy every couple of months. The last one was a doozie.... we nearly delayed closing on our house because our insurance agent couldn't bother to do his job and write the policy. Then, AFTER WE WERE ALREADY LIVING IN OUR NEW HOME, he has the nerve to send us a new policy for it and then calls to see if I have any questions. I had kindly called him about closing three weeks prior, and then again a couple days later, and then again. When I had reached out to him via phone, text and email and he didn't respond, I decided to bag the hassle and go with another provider. Except, wait! In order to cancel my policy with American National, I had to call American National, request they cancel. They insisted they couldn't until they reached out to the insurance agent, and then I had to call back to cancel again. Finally, after two more days and escalating the call I was able to get them to cancel two of my three policies. I then had to call another number to get my life insurance policy cancelled and repeat the whole shenanigan. That was only a terrible experience until I opened up my bank account to see that they are still billing me for my wife's life insurance policy even though we set them up together! I've heard that you can correlate how good of service a company provides by how easy they make it to cancel. So.... STAY AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN! read more

The guy yelled at me on the phone for adjusting more time to work on my car and to rent the car longer. I called to speak with my car local agent and he lives in California and couldn't answer any question I had about my accident and very unhelpful. I had ANPAC for about 12 years for home, car and life. We had sort of an umbrella policy. ANPAC gives you a competitive rate at the beginning, and then they keep raising prices For car insurance the premiums are super expensive, and if you add a teenager, you might as well break the bank! Home insurance premium was OK, and ANPAC did cover all damages caused by a weather event. Life insurance...well I have not tested yet (good thing!). But I'ill say that their customer service is not that great , when you need information about your policy. read more

As a broke college student, I was hoping to receive some type of reimbursement when my $1500 i7-core SSD laptop which I received as a graduation gift was stolen out of my apartment. I thought I was lucky to be insured by ANPAC, but now I see I was dead wrong. My laptop was fully functional and merely 3 years old, but they low-balled its initial value AND included a hefty depreciation in its value. They definitely don't have the customer's best interest in mind. We were paying more for our homeowners insurance than anyone in or area. We learned this after the hail storm. We've been with ANPAC for 14 years. A few years back I noticed they had added square footage to our home and hardwood floors to our new nonexistent square footage. And then they were so kind as to insure it for us. Then they had added rider for fur coats and jewelry. I don't own fur and I don't have jewelry. We blew it off as some strange mistake and they credited some of it back. We decided to insure our cars elsewhere and let them know that we had new auto insurance... They say we owe them for the last 3 months when we were insured elsewhere. Then hail hit our entire neighborhood. We found out our $3000 deductible was at least twice more than anybody else's. They low balled our estimate and then sent a cancelation of homeowners insurance letter to follow up. A lot of our neighbors have State Farm and they are pretty happy. We've been clients since 2004, I've had years without claims and loved getting the 25% cashback checks for no claims. We hear back promptly from our agents office and they have after hours service too. When my wife had a small problem with backing up and damaged 2 of our cars the claims both went very smoothly. They provided a rental car and the body shop took care of fixing the cars. In another case we were hit and our insurance covered everything and then sued the at fault party for damages. Very impressed! My family is also covered with American National and have no complaints, they have replaced roofs on several homes and had a similar smooth experience. The online access is great, and we are very happy! I think the complaints here boil down to not understanding your coverage, I suggest you sit down with your agent and go over everything before you jump online to complain. read more

They are crooks...they fail to disclose information, failed to disclose policy will only pay the face value. No additional funds will be paid. After maturity the policy payments remain the same, was told will have to pay until your 101. The policy at that point will have been $9,000 dollars collected, but will pay only $3000. I Paid out $4124.00, cash out value is just over $1124.00. At age 65, your policy is cut in half without disclosure. read more

Please BEWARE Bait and switch! after my policies expired with my previous company, I tried American National paid for all my policy's in full and 30+ days later they sent a inspector out (with no notice for tenants) trespassed in back and wrote looks like the roof may go out in 5+ years, siding missing (is really a crawl hole for venting!) they canceled! On another home I got a quote of $862.00 after inspection 25 days later they added $215.00 for nothing changing at all. American National has been Fantastic ! Our home was vandalized and the damage was extensive. They covered what we expected and the process was fast. Our representative, Dave Skinner did a great job representing them. He was courteous and professional throughout. Their rates are also lower than most carriers as it is hard to get coverage in S. My parents are wonderful honest people! They are snowbirds in AZ and while visiting home in WA for a couple of weeks AZ had a bad dust storm which knocked out their power in their home. They came back to AZ to find their home smelling like a huge dumpster bin because meat had defrosted and spoiled. They tried everything to fix this coals, bleach, ozone machines, etc and nothing worked. They called their insurance company American National AKA AnPac to make a claim because that is why we pay for insurance correct? Guess what they were denied! They were actually told the management found a "loop hole"!!!!! Oh now nice of you to care more about your numbers than your customer. My parents cannot stay in their home right now as my mother has COPD and cannot be around the smell they are also out a fridge/freezer because they do not have the money to replace it. Keep in mind they are retired therefore fixed income. I have been insured by this company for 19 years and will now be shopping for different coverage. The rates I pay are higher than anyone I know! They have the cash back program that is supposed to convince you it's less, but it's not. They also just completely screwed my 19 year old, convinced him to get his own policy, then 6 months later raised it $400 a year for absolutely no reason at all! Thanks for the loyalty! NOT!!! We've had several bad storms from hurricane in the past couple of years. I would always let time pass and forget to call insurance agency. One day we had a storm with bad hail and wind (even left dents in my car). I have a video of the roof shingles blowing up, and the hail hitting it. So my husband posted the video on facebook, and of course a friend of a friend of a friend said we may want to get it checked out. HE came by and got on the roof with my husband to tell us if it would be worth a shot to turn into the insurance company, and he did think so. We called and made a claim. Their customer service was horrible. they immediately treated us like we were bad guys, or like we were lying about possible damage. They finally sent someone out to inspect our roof...some outsourced sompany. He said the damage was man made. I was blown away... My husband, nor I would ever allow something like that to occur. We had been in the home for 3 years, and my husband was the only person on the roof, besides the one day the roofer came out, and my husband was up there watching him. so they ended up sending someone else out to inspect, weeks later, after I had to call over and over, still being treated like a piece of crap! I spoke to that inspector from another company and he said "their is definitely wind damage, and I don't know why they said anything was man made". I was relieved the truth was coming out. Well, we wait and wait, and a week later I call to see whats going on and the adjuster was like "oh yea, Ive been meaning to call you" I need to ask you some questions AGAIN. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was ALWAYS having to call them. Then like another week later I called them back to see what was going on and she said "we are denying your claim due to man made damage". I was blown away and was not nice to her at all! I was like "were yall EVER going to call me?" No compassion, no advice, nothing! This is a roof from 2003. all of my neighbors roofs were replaced for damage, but NOPE not mine! I was honestly insulted! Never spoke to anyone more rude from the get go. They kept trying to ask questions like me and my husband had something to lie about! Im switching ASAP....the only reason I couldn't sooner is because they took forever to close the claim. BTW, when I opened the claim, I told them about water coming into my house at the ceiling...they completely ignored that claim, and offered to open ANOTHER one!! American National Insurance They are not truthful. It was a big mistake buying, home insurance from this insurance company. On September 2018, my husband and I were looking for a home insurance. We receive a quote from one of the agents of American National, Mr. Jeremy Lehman who wasn't truthful nor transparency. He didn't explain all the important information that customers need to know before buying a policy. As an example, one of the questions the agent asked when we were buying the home insurance was if the house's roof was replaced. We answered that question and we explained to him that the roof was replaced by ourselves (my brother in law who is a house builder helped us). The agent Mr. Lehman never informed us that we had to summit proof of the date such a receipt when the roof was done. Around July/August 2019, we received a bill charging us an extra $52.00 dollars and threaten us with canceling our policy if they didn't receive the money before September 2019. I called to the main office to find out what it was the extra charge for. The agent I spoke with said that it was because we didn't summit proof of roof replacement date. That information wasn't provided to us when we received the quote neither when we paid for our policy. My husband and I decided to buy home insurance from a different company instead of paying more than we had agreed since their coverage is not that good. Recently, we received another bill from American National changing us the same amount, but "for coverage provided through 12:01 a.m. on September 23, 2019" and saying "Please be advised, your last date of coverage with us was September 22, 2019". But the documents my husband and I received when we paid for the home insurance states: "Effective date: 09-23-2018" "Expiration date: 09-23-2019" According to the new bill, we have until December 10-2019 to pay them. If we do not send the money, they are threatening to send us to a collection agency. Our questions are: for what reason are they charging us the extra pay? Is it because we didn't summit a roof replaced date? Or for the coverage on the 12:01 a.m. on September 23, 2019? We paid for "12-month policy term" starting on September 23-2018. We hope our bad experience with this insurance company help others before being in the same situation as we are. read more
