I've been with American Pest for two years now and they are still an excellent company. Start of the pandemic they make sure to wear a mask. We don't wear shoes in our house and they always have shoe coverings. This summer we had extra spiders running around and the technicians spoke with said if they were still an issue after she sprayed that I could call again to get another service. I have also called them for what I thought was a rat problem in the garage. They came out and looked. It turned out to be bats and he taught me the difference between bat and rat feces. The technician crawled up in the attic to assure me they hadn't made the way in yet but I should fix the metal covering just in case. The last outside spray the technician came to show me that I had a potential water leak possibly with my refrigerator and it was leaking through my foundation. I haven't been outside for awhile and was alarmed by what I saw. I guess since the summer when we ran the sprinklers I didn't notice that the water bill was high because it was lower than the summer. Anyway, we checked and sure enough the water line we never used was leaking somewhere in the walls in the basement crawl space! I called a plumber to get it taken care of right away. While down in the crawl space looking for the leak my husband noticed rat droppings and I called American Pest again. That rat coverage I didn't think I needed when I signed up is covered. It's always good to to be prepared for anything. Everyone I've had interaction with at American Pest Control are kind and don't make you feel like an idiot for calling about a problem. I was a loyal customer of American Pest Management from 2011 to 2024, across three different homes. That's over a decade of uninterrupted service, consistent payments, and great interactions with their technicians, who I want to be clear are absolutely excellent. Every one of them was professional, courteous, and did great work.   Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the administrative side of the business, which has gone drastically downhill since the company was bought out around 2020. What was once a well-run and customer-focused operation is now disorganized, confusing, and rigidly corporate.   After moving outside their service area at the end of 2024, I was charged an early cancellation fee, something I had never been made aware of, and frankly, it made no sense considering I had been with them for nearly 14 years. At no point during my time with American Pest Management was I made aware of an annual contract, and not once did I receive a renewal notice... until after I had already canceled service. That was the first and only time I ever received a renewal notice in all those years.   Because of that notice, I reached out to ask whether the new owners of our house had continued service, since I had been told by American Pest that if they did, I would be refunded the cancellation fee. When I followed up, I was told this refund offer had "never existed."   So which is it?   This kind of inconsistency, coupled with the complete disregard for a long-term customer, is deeply frustrating. To be hit with a cancellation penalty almost 14 years of continuous service is not just disappointing, it's exploitative. If this is how American Pest Management treats loyal customers, I can only imagine how they treat new ones.   Again, the technicians are wonderful, and this review is no reflection on them. But the business practices, customer communication, and administrative policies are seriously broken.   I would not recommend American Pest Management based on how I was treated. Loyalty clearly means nothing to them. read more

I would give a 0 star rating if I could. Out of the 15 months I saw them here a total of 4 or 5 times,they told us they would call and set up a time,which they did the first 3 months but never did afterwards.Called them 3 times one time we waited a month with no return call,than was told that billing would call after a week I called back and was not happy with the response. I would never have them do work for me again. read more

My service man provided excellent service. He was thorough and made sure I was set up to see no bugs or rodents in my home. He went above and beyond to make sure all the wasp nest were gone. I was pleased with the excellent service and will continue to use them. read more

I have happily given American Pest Management five stars in the past. I still stand by that rating as far as the technicians who come to my house, the thoroughness of services, and responsiveness. However, I moved to a new house, and rather than be given the same rate that I had at my old house, I was charged as a new customer. The $176 I just paid to have service at my new house hurt. I even asked specifically for them for the initial inspection at my new home, which they did. I am just feeling that $176 "new customer" bite as an existing customer. read more

This company has a pretty unique system for control that merits favorable consideration. The technicians that come to the house are usually very courteous and considerate of your home. As stations get covered with leaves and other garden debris though, they do not catch them all. The office personnel are unfortunately the worst. Their catchy "How can I make you smile?" Greeting is the only friendly or courteous thing about them. Their billing and information system leaves me baffled for how it is organized and maintained. They are unhelpful and short and more concerned with validating themselves than with helping customers. read more

If you are interested in taking your hard earned money and flushing it down the toilet, this is the pest control company for you. Enrolled in their Gold program ($135 quarterly) that included an Annual Inspection and quarterly spray. When it came time to sell our home and a termite inspection was requested, low and behold we have a termite problem. American Pest Management quoted $600 to treat. A more reputable company would have stood by their product or at the least covered some of the cost. Consumers beware. read more

I called American Pest Management to seek help for a Brown Recluse problem we have. They said that they could help and came to do an evaluation. The owner was VERY pushy on his sales trying to get us to choose a plan for roaches, ants, and silverfish, which we have none of. He pointed out that there were ants outside the window... um, yes there are ants outside, thank you for that! He also wanted to spray our attic because he said brown recluses overwinter in attics. Well after he quoted us $150 up front with $90/3 months for the rest of the year, I decided we would do some research. Here is what I found: 1. "Spiders "tip-toe" when they walk, so aren't good candidates for controlling with residual insecticide sprays. The entomologist said sticky traps (e.g., Catchmaster) will catch them, if placed in such spider favorites as under the bed, under living room furniture, behind drawers and the like." ~ http://www.ksre.ksu.edu/news/sty/2003/brown_recluse061903.htm 2."Pesticide applications can actually be detrimental because studies show that Brown Recluse spiders will prefer dead insects over living ones." ~ http://www.brown-recluse.com/traps.html 3."The #1 location to trap Brown Recluse spiders is near the furnace and water heater. Brown Recluse spiders are not usually found in attics, crawl spaces, inside drawers of desks/cabinets or on closet shelves." ~ http://www.brown-recluse.com/traps.html So, they wanted us to pay to spray, which makes things worse by providing an easier food source, and that the spiders won't die from, and they wanted to treat the attic where the spiders are not. I am VERY disappointed and would never use or recommend this company to anyone! read more
