I asked American Pest Management to come out because of a very bad mice problem we are having. Someone came out and sealed some entrances around the home, as well as put up some bait traps in the garage and the exterior of our home. It cost $300, and they did not do anything inside. They said that they would recommend monthly follow-up visits for more $$, and they are scheduled to come back next week to check the exterior of the house. They also recommended putting up our dog food bowl and trimming the hedges in the back yard to be further from the house. We completely these things. We still have mice. And I am unsure how worthwhile this service is? I will wait and see if there is any improvement after this next visit, and will update my post afterwards. read more

This is a business built on integrity! I called because of tiny bugs near outside our window wells. Luis explained that they could exterminate, but that the bugs would come back when it's rainy season. He explained the bugs are harmless and will go away when it's drier. He was thorough in assessing our situation over the phone and recommended we just watch and wait. Robert came out and really saved our wallets and peace of mind. Terminix quoted us $8000 to clean out our entire attic. Come to find out, didn't need it at all. Found better/cheaper solutions to figuring out our problem. Goes to show difference between big company pushing for the $$ vs companies like this. read more

I currently have my house set up on a quarterly inspection and treatment plan. I have a 3 acre piece of property so you can be sure that I have a lot of "pests " I know in this area it is not if your house has termites it is when will your house get termites. Their techs always get there on time as scheduled and are really great guys. I am also a mortgage banker here locally in Kansas City and when I have a chance to refer a customer asking who I would use this is who I refer. This morning I heard what sounded like a large animal like a possum or raccoon through the wall in my bathroom. I assumed it was coming from inside the house through the attic.I called at 7:00 and left a message and they called me back at 7:45, even though their hours are 8-5. 2 very kind, thorough and caring guys came out and searched all up in the attic and outside and we couldn't find anything. We concluded that it could've been something on the outside trying to get in because we had a storm with hail last night. They didn't charge me anything for all the work they did and gave me an excellent quote to come out and set a trap if the noise came back. Mark came out to my house to diagnose a flying ant problem, which I had diagnosed as Carpenter Ants. Ants were coming out of a heating vent. Mark was professional and wore booties. He found an ant, and said it was an Argentinian Ant, which is a better problem to have. He treated the problem quickly and inexpensively. I was pleased and will call again with respect to other pest problems that may arise from time to time. read more

Just had my spring quarterly treatment and as usual had a pleasant experience. Have used American Pest Management now for 4 years and are on a quarterly program with the Centricon system. We met them when we had termites and they were wonderful to deal with, gave us recommendations for the repair, and came back during the repair to treat new wood and existing wood. Have had random pests (huge wasp nest, driller bees) and when I have called, they were out to my house quickly with no charge because of being on their program. They also offer suggestions for your yard with landscape and mulch to make sure you don't damage the Centricon system. Have recommended them to many! read more

Nothing but bad news with these guys. I had mice in my attic - guy came over and spent about 20 minutes. Threw some "bait sticks" in the attic - sealed a couple of spots - charged me $264. The mice are still there, my $264 is gone. read more

I initially had American Pest Management out to do the termite inspection before purchasing my home, the gentleman that came out was extremely professional and informative. The house had no termite issues but I was given information about potential issues with a home of that age and what additional services they offered. That following year they performed quarterly treatments on my yard, their employees were always there when they said they would be there, they did a good job and were very pleasant when talking with them about the various treatments and options. read more

STAY AWAY - We moved into our house last summer and had them come out for our first treatment. At that time, they asked to have us sign a contract. We declined because we hadn't had a chance to see the effectiveness of their services yet. A few months later they called to schedule their next visit and we declined because we weren't thrilled with the services. A week later we got a card in the mail, "your next service is scheduled for this coming Tuesday!" Instructing us to call and reschedule. "IF you're not home, we'll treat the outside"....and then bill you. Confused, I called them again and reiterated that we had not requested another visit. Renee on the phone suddenly got rude and started talking about how we had signed an agreement - I explained we hadn't and she said, "Well you should have and normally there's a $100 cancelation fee!" EXACTLY the reason we hadn't signed anything. After some back and forth she canceled the service we had never asked for and acted like she was doing us a favor by not charging us $100. There are MANY more accommodating, nicer and less sleezy services out there...save yourself the trouble. read more
