He made the process easy! He was so kind! He wasn't pushy, invasive, or demanding. Matt was super knowledgable and informative. He kept us in the loop at all times, but wasn't overbearing with the contact. He provided us with factual data and talked with our realtor (who is a close friend and our advisory throughout the process) to keep him in the loop as well (in which was what we wanted). He also talked in plain english with us - he didn't ever try to schmooze us over with fancy words or confuse us with mortgage lingo. Matt is smart, thorough, helpful, and willing to work. Unfortunately, the home builder we went with swayed us use their mortgage company and that process seemed to be a nightmare compared to Matt. First off, the office is pretty unorganized, asked for the same paperwork multiple times, made an extremely large amount of errors on the financial paperwork that *I* had to point out on multiple occasions, and was overall an extreme headache. They were an office that could take a month to do something but expect you to respond and get paperwork in an hour or two. They're never in a hurry but if they ask you for something they hound you for it. They never keep you in the loop of what's going on in the process until they're sending emails and calling because they need something ASAP. I almost went with a different lender but I would have lost my earnest money and my house although I was strongly considering taking that risk because of how horrible the process went. I was referred by my former Realtor to apply and work with this Mortgage Company in hopes to…read morepurchase my First Home and move from California to Texas. Everything was going well. I applied in December 2020, was told, because I started a new Job, even though was in a similar field, still needed to wait to submit 3 months of my Pay Stubs. Between December 2020-March 2021, I was following up with Matthew and everything was always "Everything looks great!" and/or "I think that should be fine". Matthew checked my Credit back in December and told me there was no issues with it. I planned to book my Flight to Texas and kept asking Matthew if there would be any issues before doing so. As you know, flights go up in price, so I wanted to book my Flight ASAP. Matthew never gave me any issues. Come March 5th, I provided my Pay Stubs. It took his Team until Wednesday-Thursday the following week to give me bad news! I was told, because they THEN FOUND discrepancies on my Credit AFTER THE FACT, that the INITIAL AMOUNT MATTHEW QUOTED ME IN DECEMBER WAS GOING TO COME DOWN SIGNIFINCALLY! I mean, we're talking ALMOST $265K LESS THAN I WAS INITIALLY QUOTED! I was LIVID! I was waiting for 2.5 MONTHS and THESE ISSUES SHOULD'VE BEEN ADDRESSED UPFRONT IN DECEMBER, SO I COULD'VE BEEN ADVISED TO WORK ON WHATEVER NEEDED TO BE WORKED ON IN DECEMBER, BECAUSE NOW, MY FLIGHT IS ON MARCH 21ST! I have had to reach out to other Lenders to apply with and LUCKILY, found one who finally made sense throughout this already stressful process and initiated my Pre-Approval Letter with WAY MORE THAN Legacy Mutual was quoting me! I would be CAUTIOUS when wanting to work with this Company. They lack communication, made me traumatized, and lose trust in them and in my initial Realtor.
