They keep it cold in there and I don't think my blood can flow like most other patients at that temp, when I bring up reasons my blood doesn't flow fast most of them just write it off and tell me to pump faster or that I must be doing something wrong and ignore what I said entirely. ATP I think it's my veins that's what one nurse keeps telling me but it could be something else wrong idk. Sometimes i zone out and forget I'm donating the whole experience feels like being in a 302 facility, Ur cold miserable and u can't just walk away. They forget you're human because it's so many people they have to deal with, they are just doing what they can to survive by going to work and following orders. your blood/plasma just becomes merchandise, a product nothing personal. I wasn't sure what to expect walking in but the decor was very clean and welcoming! The staff was super friendly and offered me snacks. I filled out my paperwork and was taken right back. You can also buy certain supplies such as first aid kits and cpr kits here. You sign up for the classes online and you can pay by credit card. There are at least classes once a week. Parking is scarce so come early. Park by the Van Wyck highway, there are no meters there. If you don't, you are going to have to pay for parking. The classes "fly" by quickly.

You could be saving someone in your own families life. You never know when or who will need the blood or platelets.
