Recently, we lost an old motorcycle key. The local Honda dealership told me it would cost $300+ and my soul to replace. It was causing such a headache to figure out! I brought the gas cap lock in to Alford Safe and Lock and walked out with two new keys within 15 minutes for a very affordable price. I'll be a customer for life. Also, they have the coolest old safes to check out while you're waiting.

While I understand it was Good Friday, the whole situation could have been avoided by simply placing a sign in their window that said "Closed early for Good Friday", which they did not. My assumption, after visiting the poboy shop, was that he was using the restroom and locked the door to prevent theft.

While it seems a lot of folks are sore at this Albertsons, I can safely say I appreciate it. Like…read moremany grocery stores in Baton Rouge, it's a dated chain with a big parking lot and not enough people working there. However, the deals that can be found here are fairly good and the selection of seafood here is good enough to where I don't have to consider shopping elsewhere. Now that other mega grocery spots have entered the BR-sphere, Albertson's seems somewhat pedestrian in size. The aisles are a bit more narrow and the checkered floor has a classic look to it. There is almost always parking available and no one has to fight over the grocery carts; which are stacked neatly for people coming in. I don't care much about ice cream, but I'm pleased to report this Albertson's has a nice inventory of Blue Bell ice cream, the finest in the South. As mentioned already, the seafood selection is outstanding. I've purchased everything from salmon fillets, lobsters, crab legs, mussels, scallops, and shrimp. The staff there will skin, sauté, peel, filet, etc. to one's liking. Talk about super convenient. Not going to harp on some of the miscues here, which include a semi-lackluster produce section and some incredibly slow service. It's like some of the register folks can't push buttons fast enough to keep people from groaning out of frustration. The prices here are an attraction enough to where everything else (and self-checkout) is merely a distraction.

This is by far the least crowded TJ's that I've been to so that was fun, though I wasn't able to find everything that I came in to look for. I called ahead on last Tuesday to ask if they had beefless bulgogi and a designated section for their meatless frozen products. I was told that they did, but guess what, I scoured the frozen selection and did not indeed find it. There was hardly anyone working on the floor which is pretty rare. Everything was mixed up into one which made it difficult to locate anything and was a bit annoying considering I was already pressed for time and needed to get to Mississippi. The plants out front was reasonably priced and I bought a few. On the way out to checkout, I chose Manager, Trinity line, but Trinity did not speak with me at all. She didn't even acknowledge me. It was very weird and not something that I've ever experienced at any TJ's that I've been to. Usually, the cashiers are the most bubbly out of any grocery store that I've shopped at. I prefer to shop at TJ's because of their solid products and their cashiers. I think next time I stop here, I won't go through Trinity's line. It was weird since the guy before me, was greeted and got a smile from her, but I asked her how she was doing and she treated me like a tree. Anyways, I tried the TJ's exclusive licorice and it was the real deal. The mango, raspberry, and green apple mix pack was very solid and tasty. I damn near ate the whole bag last night. I got it because it has actual licorice paste in it and not just high fructose corn syrup. Another snack that I like are the sweetened orange slices by TJ's; so very delicious, but another extremely the best snack are the jerk plantain chips. I love TJ's, but I wish TJ's was located in every state, so that all people can experience the goodness of the store. This location is pretty much in a safe looking area of Baton Rouge and not too far from I-10. The parking lot is shared with other establishments. I'll definitely be back.

Of course none of the slabs have prices on them they only have the name so you don't know if the slab is $4,000 or $14,000. I'm not complaining about that because that's a good sales strategy and everyone else does the exact same thing.They all make you fall in love with a slab of granite that you can't afford but I guess if you really love it you'll find a way to pay for it. Maybe I can become a "lady of the night" to earn some money or give up my first born child in exchange. Nevertheless, come check out all the beautiful granite they have because there's lots to choose from.
