I was having a problem with my Polaris and called American Spa and Pool to come out. I was thinking it was time to replace the whole darn thing and I was very pleasantly surprised when Thomas fixed my problem and told me my Polaris would last several more years. While he was there he inspected my filter and salt system at no extra charge. When I got my bill I asked, "Are you charging me enough?" I was shocked the bill was so little. Thomas laughed and said he was building clients for the future and when the problem was an easy fix he didn't believe in charging a lot of money. I had a pump motor go out on our pool last month. I was convinced the motor would need to be replaced and was trying to source it and the other parts needed to swap. Decided I didnt have the time for it and did a Yelp search and came across Thomas and American Spa and Pool. After seeing all of the glowing reviews I called. We discussed for a few minutes what was going on and said he would be out later that week [we were in no hurry]. He called me once the repair was done to say it was a capacitor and he was able to replace it. He could have just gone for the pump and was expecting a healthy charge. Needless to say I was thrilled with the cost, his honesty and true desire to make it right. Business ethics like this will always be rewarded over time. We will only use them going forward and will recommend to anyone who has a pool or spa. We are even going to have him upgrade the filtration system. Thanks a ton! read more

Thomas L., owner/technician for American Spa and Pool only has one problem with these ratings - they go to five stars! I was looking for a six star rating after he came on short notice call, analyzed my pool problem, and fixed it in less than an hour for sixty dollars less than the quotes I got from two other service companies. Plus he checked out the operation,AND, the efficiency of my whole system for no additional charge. What's really strange is that he did it all with a smile on his face and a "cup half full attitude". I fully agree with Mark B (prior review) about being pleasantly surprised at the small bill he gave me and said that I would spread the good news of his work ethic and billing. What can I say, these guys are good at what they do. After the recent rain our pool looked less than desirable. I called ASAP and Thomas talked me through some diagnosis and set an appointment to come and take a look. When he came he was helpful and knowledgeable. I take care of our pool so he gave me pointers and tips on how do it better. I was spending $$$ at a chain pool supply company and basically putting unnecessary chemicals in my pool. They established a relationship with me as well as the tenants and were responsive to us all....no matter how big or small the problem....they were on top of it. I can't say enough good things about Thomas at American Spa & Pool. I was using a different pool company and was having issues with my pool heater. Their owner even came out, told me I needed a new one and charged a ridiculous service fee to basically lie to my face. Wanting a second opinion, I contacted Thomas, he came out and took a look and told me the heater works just fine, it was just a matter of tweaking some of the other equipment. Now it's up and running and I've saved a ton of money not buying a new heater. I'm switching my pool service to ASAP from now on. He's honest, down to earth and won't BS you. I'm so glad to find Thomas on Yelp. My pool was built 5 years ago and I've been taking care of it since. Recently, my booster pump went out and my actuator also went out and I was searching for a pool service company to help me with replacing my equipments. I called a few good reviews pool companies I found on yelp.. they are good, but their quote are very high (trip charge plus hourly rate)and in order for me to fix my pump, I also have to purchase all the parts from them (at a pretty high markup rate comparing to amazon.com). I called Thomas and his rate is very reasonable and he spent time talking to me on the phone and educating me about the issues. He is completely ok with me buying all the parts for him to install. I spent a year and countless dollars on chemicals to clear my pool after last years heavy rains that dumped branches dirt and silt in the pool. the algae was so bad I couldn't even see the bottom. No offense to Leslie Pools, but I tried every solution they offered, but that seemed to make the problem worse. Hired Thomas to come and take a look at it, and within two days the pool was clear enough to see the bottom, not swimmable, but at least we could see where all the debris was to scoop it out. Within a week the pool was crystal clear and ready to go. Thomas was polite, attentive, on time, reasonably priced, and we have hired his team to service our pool going forward. Thomas and his crew are the kind of people you trust. They've been taking care of our pool for the past 6 years and we've never had better service! If we ever have any concerns, Thomas is prompt at addressing them and taking care of the problem. Once we were out of state, and my daughter noticed the vacuum didn't seem to be working. I have used Thomas for 8 years and he is wonderful. He does NOT oversell anything and always takes the conservative route. I've only fixed two minor things in all these years. I bought a house last year with a pool. Having never owned nor cared for a pool before, I knew I would need professional help. I went through 2 other services before finding ASAP through Yelp. They are fantastic! Thomas came out for the first appointment to educate me on their process and my system, and then reset the controls to optimize cleanliness between weekly service visits. That was a year ago, and since then, my pool has run perfectly. Unlike a prior service in which the technician was out for all of 7 - 10 minutes per visit (at over $200/month), ASAP's tech's are here for 20-30 minutes performing all of the contracted tasks. The technicians are polite, hard working, and professional. I particularly appreciate their recently upgraded system, which includes online billing and photographs of the pool with a report after each visit. Since I travel for work, these services make it easy for me to stay on track with payments and see when work has been done. I am a picky client, so ASAP has to be top notch to earn this 5-star rating! read more

ASAP is one of the unique, locally owned companies that understands that looking out for their customer's best interests are in their best interests. I called ASAP and Thomas was out to our home promptly. We had a pool heater issue and so he inspected the heater, provided his recommendations, and then just spent time with me answering all of my pool related questions. He provided many suggestions on pool care that I could take on myself, and the products to purchase via the internet. Thomas could have merely inspected my heater, sold me a new one, and left. But by spending the extra time, not only did I get valuable advice, it allowed me to ask about the cost of adding pool automation to my setup. Two weeks later, it was installed, and I watched him install it as if he was installing it at his own home.
