Out of the 5 companies I submitted a request to, they were the 2nd ones I reached out to but the last ones to reach out back to me (excluding the auto-generated "thank you" text which the other pool companies sent as well). Lisa from the office called me Wednesday at 5:38 PM and said she could have a tech come out the next day to give me a quote. Jose came out Thursday around noon. He was super nice and professional. He said he would get me 3 different quotes for the 3 type of packages they offer by the end of the day or the next day (Friday) in the morning at the latest. By Friday at 4:25 PM, I had yet to receive anything so I called and spoke to Lisa and she said they'll send it over shortly. They sent 2 quotes (not 3) at 4:40 PM. Monday morning at 10 AM, I called to discuss the quotes for further clarification, especially since the links weren't working. Lisa said she's going to call Jose and call me right back. She never did. Tuesday morning at 8:28 AM, almost a week after I had initially reached out, I called saying they never called me back and asked to speak to a manager. She put me on the phone with Jose and he was a totally different person than the guy that came out to the house. He kept interrupting me and talking over me. He was rude saying I didn't know anything about pools (that might be true but this is not my first house with a pool and that's not something you'd say to a prospective client), and making excuses for their lack of responsiveness. If they're this bad when they're trying to earn my business, I can't imagine how bad they are once they do earn it. Reading some of their other reviews, I should've just never reached out to begin with. TLDR: Unresponsive, unprofessional/rude, overpromise/underdeliver. Our pool had been losing a little water for a couple years. 12 months ago it became worse and I…read morehired a company to locate the leak. We didn't fix the leak at that time because the company had only a "general idea" of where the leak was in my cool deck. So they simply plugged off the spa return lines to stop the leaking. I waited until this fall to get it fixed after the spa began to lose even more water dropping to the lowest level return lines/jets. Like most, our pool and spa are connected but it was apparent that the leak was tied to the spa. Rather than call back the original company, I began to research "leak detection" companies again and after a few phone calls and reading reviews and recommendations, I decided to call Brent Bailey at A+ Pool Leak Detectives. Correctly locating a leak is very important because it could mean cutting through the cool deck, cutting into the side of your spa or even the pool itself. If you are lucky it will be around the skimmer or some other area similarly easy to fix. If you have to cut into the cool deck or the side of the spa and then dig down to locate the broken pipe, it can be very expensive and time consuming if you the company doesn't correctly locate the leak . Not only that, it defaces your spa or cool deck which in my case I had just had refinished a couple years ago. In order for a leak detection company to accurately locate a leak, it takes know-how and technology. Brent uses thermal imaging, a cable-based camera which he can insert into any of the lines as well as a sounding device. Without these tools, finding a leak can be sketchy. Brent systematically diagnosed the exact locations of two leaks using all of these tools and used each of the tools to validate the location of the leaks. He had to remove tile from the spa and air hammer out the concrete around the broken pipes feeding the return lines/jets. He also then cut a 1 foot square out of our cold deck and was able to dig down to the exact location of the second leak. I am so very glad that Brent was able to pinpoint exactly where the leaks were in order to minimize the cutting and air hammering of the concrete. Brent's assistant, Omar, carefully removed the tile on the outside of my 23-year old spa, chiseled out the concrete, fixed the leak and replaced the tile so it looks original. Omar also cut through our cool deck creating only a 1 foot square hole before digging down a couple feet to the broken pipe. When all done, he replastered my cool deck and my problems have been solved. When you contract with a company, you need to trust them and trust that they have the know-how to accurately locate the leak. Brent is professional and you can trust that he will be very forthright about what needs to be done without exaggerating or inflating the size of the job. Brent is a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend A+ Pool Leak Detectives.

We happened to be standing outside when he arrived, but he walked up to our house and immediately started taking photos of the front of the property without introducing himself. We actually had to walk over and ask who he was. After the inspection, Brent told us we'd have the report the next day. Instead, he disappeared. Our calls and emails went unanswered, and our realtor ultimately had to track him down. Four days later, we received a poorly written report with no apology or explanation for the delay. Brent also admitted he had somehow lost the inspection videos and said he would come back the next day to retake them. That was over a week ago. We still haven't received the videos, and once again, our calls and emails have gone unanswered. When you're hiring an inspection company during a real estate transaction, communication and follow-through are essential. Unfortunately, A+ Pool Leak Detectives provided neither. Our first issue was Cody Pools took 6 months to complete a job they bid at 3 weeks! Our second issues was with the final invoice, when Cody Pools billed for work that was not done! Using emails, where the PM acknowledged work had not been completed, We (The HOA Board) attempted to work with Cody Pools for an invoice that reflected work completed. To which Cody Pools threatened to file a lien against the property! Yes, when faced with written acknowledgement by a Cody Pools Project Manager, the company opted to use strong arm tactics, over adjusting the invoice for payment of work completed! On top of the unethical billing, within a month of completion the pool lighting had stopped working, yet Cody Pools refused to even visit and confirm the light failures. Due to poor ethical business practices, high pricing, and shoddy work; I wouldn't trust or recommend Cody Pools.
