Dr. Hornsby examined me. I told the woman that was supposed to assist me that they are not what I wanted, so she told me that they could substitute those with regular precription lens. All I had to do was wait until the replacement glasses came in and they would call me to bring in my own frames and the refit would take about an hour. Well, they did call me and they prepared the regular lens to fit my frame. When I sat down to try the glasses on, the same woman sat down accross from me and immediately accused me of cussing and told me that my conduct was not allowed in the store. I was totally shocked by her accusation and asked where that came from because I did not cuss at anyone at any time and she told me that 2 other employees heard me and told her. My wife was with me and she said I did not cuss at all. The woman then told me that the store has microphones and that she would listen to hear what I said. Well, she never got back to me on that and the new glasses are totally useless because when I put them on, everything was distorted and blurry. I told her that and she said that I just had to get used to them. Get used to them, have you ever had to get used to a pair of prescription glasses? I'm 87 years old and a retired, decorated U.S. Navy veteran and I have had dozens of prescription glasses in my life and never had to GET USED TO THEM. I also have never been treated so badly at any store in my entire life. The woman that said I was cussing and assisted me was very rude to say the least. She would not listen long enough for me to tell her what the problem was with the glasses. Now I'm out $533 and no glasses. I bought a pair of Walmart READERS for about $12 and can read and see better then what I got at this place. PLEASE, don't go to this store for anything.

It's wonderful place. I love the ladies at the desk as well. They are always so helpful and nice With the COVID19, they made everything more comfortable. The only complaint I had today is about the red headed young girl who was doing the glasses . I was going to sit my 2 year old in the chair to put his shoes on and her tone was a little off about us needing to sit to the side. But she may not have had a good day or something. I hope our next meeting goes better and if she was having a bad day, it got better.

They took their time and made sure you were happy with your choices. But beyond that, my spouse had a serious eye condition. He has been to several optometrists over the years and told he had holes in his retinas but was never told it was important to have it checked beyond an eye exam. Family Eye Center did not just pass him off. They schedule him to see a specialist where he found out one of the holes was leaking. If he had waited much longer he could have lost vision in that eye. They were very helpful and made my mother feel so much better and now they have another customer who will be going back. I went into the office with my elderly mother a few weeks ago for a consult on cataract surgery. I waited in the waiting room room until she was done. I noticed a few agitated customers but wasn't my problem so I blew it off. My mother was scheduled for surgery so we did the surgery then immediately left the surgery center and went to the office site for the dr to check her. I made no pit stops on the way between the surgery center and the dr office. I am parking and the receptionist calls and says how much longer until you arrive? I said well I'm trying to park and we will be in. I walk in before my mother(she's still sluggish from anesthesia or whatever they gave her). The receptionist doesn't say hi how was surgery nothing to greet in a friendly manner. She says"Ms Pace" I said yes ma'am she says" you have a balance of 34$ when will that be paid". I said well can't it wait until we are leaving I mean I just parked and ran in to tell you she was here. My mom gets called back. The nurse and dr were great. I go out before her to pull the car under the awning at the door to pick her up and retrieve my credit card to pay the balance because I said I would at check out. I walk back in to the check out receptionist being loud with my mom and the other receptionist yelling at her saying I would pay at check out. I had my credit card in hand to pay the bill when I came back in. My intentions were to pay it until I heard the harassing going on. My mom had no clue because she was still drunk on meds when we originally got there. This is not appropriate. This is the poorest customer service I have ever seen in a medical facility. You work in the medical field and have no empathy for the patients coming in and out. My mother had just paid the $240 co pay for the surgery. She Had no clue she a had balance for a test that insurance didn't pay for. After I seen the way they treated her less than two hours from having a procedure done there was no way I was paying. That $34 can wait. You have elderly people coming in and out of that office daily. I would bet my life 90% of those people are on fixed incomes. But there had to be an approval given to let the bill slide until she returned for a follow up from her procedure. These patients are dispensable and replaceable to this office. The check out receptionists walked away from me when I put her in her place to continue yelling from an office in the back of the building. As a postmaster, I would never allow my front end workers to be so rude and lack so much empathy for my customers. And you shouldn't either. I hope they don't treat their mother the way mine was treated. A smile and how are you today goes a long way. I will make sure that every employee of the usps knows not to use this place because your front desk people are awful humans. Do better with your front desk positions!!! Hire people that want to work and love their job. Not these crabs in the sand that want to bite everyone that walks through the door. These elderly people deserve respect.

On October 6, I went to get glasses at this location. On October 17, I received an email stating my glasses were ready for pickup. I waited till the 20th to go in to get them. A different woman assisted me. She had difficulty finding the glasses and when she did, she said they needed to be assembled! That is not being ready for pick up. I complained and said I'd be back the following day. She said she'd text me when they were ready. I called the company's customer service dept to make a complaint and said they need to have the glasses ready for pickup is they say they are ready for pickup. I received no text the following day, so I called after noon to find out when my glasses would be ready. It was at this point I was told there was a mistake and the transitions shade part was not added. They needed to send them back. I couldn't believe it. I told her she should have called me with this information. At no point has this woman ever apologized for what has happened. I called the company's customer service again and asked for reimbursement of some kind of my trouble. They said they would put a priority request on my order and get back to me about the reimbursement within 72 hours (not including weekends). I waited. Yesterday, October 28th, I get an email saying they are looking into my order and should have information about it after 12 pm. They add that they are emailing me because they can't reach me through my phone number. I let them know that I received no calls and that the number they have is correct. I got no call yesterday or today...and no further emails. I called the customer service again and they said their system is unavailable to check on the order...and it is true, you can't get on their website right now. But, he tells me to call back in 3-4 hours. I said, "You all should be calling me back once you find out the information. I should not be chasing down information and wasting my time trying to call you. With this, he says I can expect a call back within 48 hours, but if I don't, I can always call back. HAHAHAHA! What kind of business is this???? AVOID...AVOID...AVOID!!! UPDATE: Just went to get my glasses that they promised to put a rush on when they forgot to add the tint on the 18th. (Ordered these on Oct 6th.) Didn't have them in time for my daughter's wedding. Very sad about that. They promised a partial refund. They got in yesterday, Nov. 6. Went to pick up today and couldn't see a thing through the distance lens. They had kept my previous lenses that were just mispositioned and I could see perfectly for distance in those (same prescription). I get trifocals with lines. This wasn't an issue of misplacement. They had done the distance lens incorrectly...but they argued it was checked and perfectly matched my prescription that I'd brought in. How can that be possible? They just put in my old lenses and said I'd be issued a full refund. The aggravation is not worth it, otherwise, I would have walked out with their attempt at providing me correct lenses and taken it to the doctor who wrote my latest prescription. I just didn't ever want to see them again. They made me feel like they believed I was lying? What do I have to gain by lying? I need new glasses! I need to be able to see clearly. These were completely blurry. Done. I should add that there is no optometrist on site and the person who checked my glasses was not an optician. Not sure who is actually qualified to do anything at the store. My daughter and son in law said their prescriptions were not as sharp as ones they have gotten for contacts at other places. Eek! Methinks not!…read more Did not get pass the front desk! I called Bender's Eyecare located in Enterprise Al to confirm if they accept my insurance. Not only did the woman respond yes, but she added that there will not be any out-of-pocket expenses related to my exam. Upon arrival to my scheduled appointment, however, I was advised otherwise. Not sure what the disconnect is with this facility. From a previous review I see that this is not the first time that this has occurred. Customer service means providing accurate information. Dudes!! Figure it out! What a waste of time! From here on out - ophthalmologist it is!!
