Review of Wylie Eye Center…read more I have been a loyal patient at Wylie Eye Center for the past 8-10 years, returning every couple of years for an eye exam, new frames, and the same type of lenses I've used for years. Unfortunately, my most recent experience has been deeply disappointing and unlike anything I've experienced with them before. This time, a mistake was made -- the wrong type of lenses were ordered. I realized the issue immediately upon receiving them and even called from the airport the same day to report the problem. It was clear upon review that they had ordered the wrong lenses. I requested the correct comprehensive lenses to be ordered, expecting the matter to be handled promptly. Two weeks and many follow-up calls later, I was finally told my lenses had arrived. When I went to drop off my frames with the incorrect lenses, I explained the situation to a young staff member, who said she would look into it. The next day, when I returned to pick them up, I was shocked to be told I needed to pay for the new lenses -- essentially paying for two sets, one of which I will never use. What's worse is the complete lack of communication and care throughout the process. No notes were taken, no follow-up calls were made, and the staff I spoke to the previous day didn't even remember me. When I asked to speak with the office manager, I was told she was busy but would call me before the end of the day. That call never came. After over a decade of trusting Wylie Eye Center, this experience has left me saddened and frustrated. The quality of service and care I once valued here seems to have disappeared entirely.

First, Dr. Castro is excellent, skilled, and caring. Highly recommend. The office works to get you scheduled as quickly as possible. They have good availability. Appreciate the hiring reflects a diverse community. One gentleman who helps me adjust my glasses is just kindest most helpful technician ever. I really appreciate how he makes sure my frames fit well. Not everyone in the office is the kind and helpful. And one time, my family member passed away and I ended up being 7 minutes late to my appointment. They treated me so mean. I was nearly in tears but they berated me for being late. One staff member makes fun of me for my personal preferences. However staff have worked here for years so they must love their jobs. That says something for this business.

Since when can you deny customers who have an active prescription??? I live in Louisiana now and can't drive to Allen, TX just to give them an exam so that they will let me buy contacts. It's sad that a customer with a perfectly active prescription can't even buy contacts when they need them.

I went back to have eyes dilated because of fuzzy vision that came and went since an assault decades ago, HE found the retinal tears and detachment that a doc on sh78 totally missed. I went with progressive lenses again and I'm at 20-20 for the first time in years. It's awesome to be able to read an entire sentence without having to shift eye to eye by turning my head back and forth. Since then I went to texas retina and had my torn retina reattached and the cataract that was missed a couple years ago is next.

A couple of weeks later, I received a text saying they were ready for pickup. When I arrived, only one pair was actually available. I left and waited another two weeks before following up. On a Friday, I called and was told no one was available, but someone would call me back on Monday with an update. Monday came and went--no call by 2:00 p.m. I called again and was placed on hold until the call dropped. I tried again, was promised a callback "right away," and waited 45 minutes with no response. Frustrated, I called a third time and requested a refund. Once more, I was told someone would call me back. Eventually, I did get a call: they had the lenses but not the frames. Then they offered a similar style in black--I agreed to proceed. Later, another call came saying the frames weren't black after all, but grey. At this point, I was so fed up I just told them to use the grey ones. I'm finally supposed to pick them up tomorrow... I hope. After all this hassle, endless waiting, broken promises, and terrible communication, I seriously doubt I'll ever return.
